It was a moment before a doctor came out of the room to join Ryder and Karen and then another before he proceeded to take just Ryder to his office, while Karen went in to stay with Bree.

While Ryder needed to know what was going on and all, he kinda wished he could stall this moment just a little bit longer, at least until he thinks he's ready to deal with whatever will be hauled at him.
