Marvy's hands tightened into fists, her nails pressing into her palms. She watched with rage as Avalynn strode out of the hospital room, her feet assured and poised, as if she held the world in her palm.

Marvy was enraged by how easy Avalynn seemed to manage life, especially now that she was married to Jace, New York's youngest billionaire... a marriage Marvy suspected was a fake.
