I groaned as a sharp pain shot through my left arm. I winced at the sudden tension in my muscles. I tried to open my heavy eyelids and found myself in a hospital ward.

Just great!

I recalled the moment before passing out due to extreme pain. I blocked the bullet to save Evangeline from the gunshot and the bullet hit my hand.

I tilted my head and found Brandon and Evangeline talking in hushed tone in a corner of the room.

"Bra..Brand." I called out for my cousin whose eyes instantly shot at me with surprise and joy.

"Oh God! You're finally awake." He rushed me to followed by Evangeline who couldn't look into my eyes. I knew she would be blaming herself for my condition.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked me.

"First give me some water." I coughed as my dry throat stuck.

"Sorry, I should have offered you some water first." He immediately apologized and forwarded me a glass of water while Evangeline tilted my bed to a sitting position.
