I couldn't stop thinking about this new emergency in the company. Something was off, I could feel it because Mr. Edmund Black, Brandon's father signed away the report I submitted to him without saying a word or mocking my abilities.

I discussed everything with my team and they shared their plans. We decided to leave next day as it was to be handled delicately and sooner than possible.

Brandon engrossed himself in his work for the rest of the day. We didn't get a chance to talk or see each other. My heart had been sinking. It would the first time in months we were going to be parted. The only thought of not being with him pinched me.

He had become my habit, my oxygen. I couldn't think anything except him. I just prayed that this crisis would end soon so I could fly back in his arms.

A knock on my office door forced me to shut my laptop and look up at the person. A smile immediately stretched on my tired face when I saw my husband standing at the doorstep.
