Chapter 95: We Can't Be Together

As the Presiding judge pounded the gavel, the courtroom fell into a hush.

"Attorney Hart," the judge called upon Charlie Sr's lawyer to proceed.

Advancing towards the bench, Attorney Hart handed over the title deeds to the judge.

Charlie Sr swore an oath and took his place in the witness box.

"These are the only assets that I possess," he stated firmly.

The judge gave him a scrutinizing glare, then directed the plaintiff to share a copy of the title deeds with Chloe's lawyer.

As soon as Chloe's attorney received a copy of the title deeds, he leapt to his feet and raised an objection.

"My Lord, it is implausible for an individual of Charlie Sr's stature to possess assets worth only two million dollars. This is inconceivable," he spoke in a deep tone.

Attorney Hart responded with another piece of evidence, "My client's mother had already taken everything he inherited from Charlie Sr a few weeks ago. Whatever my client currently possesses was given to him by his mother."
