Chapter 122: The Demolition of a Shanty Village  

A man in a suit carrying a briefcase knocked on Charlie Sr.'s office door a few minutes later. After receiving permission to enter, he opened the door and stepped inside.

"Please have a seat, Barrister James," Charlie Sr. said, gesturing to an empty chair across from him. The man bowed his head in gratitude and placed his briefcase on the table before taking a seat.

"Thank you, Chairman Charlie Sr." Barrister James opened his briefcase, pulled out some files, and handed them over to Charlie Sr. The latter perused the documents with a smile on his face.

"I was able to get the signature tasks and settlements done, but there's a problem," Barrister James said, his expression turning serious. "The chief of the shanty community disappeared yesterday after the evacuation notice was issued."

Charlie Sr.'s face darkened, and he locked gazes with Barrister James. "Does this mean that they refused to evacuate from the shanty communities?" he asked in a calm tone.
