Chapter 57

My heart raced like a thousand wild horses, thundering against my rib as I sat on Max's laps. The world around us seemed to blur and fade, leaving only him and me in our own private universe. His presence was a magnetic pull that drew me in, making it hard to focus on anything else.

As he leaned in, my breath caught in my throat, anticipation swirling like a storm inside me. Every inch of my skin tingled with awareness, and I felt a rush of warmth spreading from the pit of my stomach to the tips of my fingers. His eyes bore into mine, dark and intense, a silent promise of what was to come.

And then it happened – his lips met mine, soft and tender. It was as if time stood still, the world melting away as his touch sent ripples of electricity through me. The chaos that had been swirling in my mind moments before was now replaced with a sense of calm, as if his kiss had the power to silence all my doubts and fears.

I responded instinctively, my heart guiding me as our lips moved in sync.
