Chapter 6;

The dripping sound of water droplets running down the underground pipe made noises  that could be heard from a mile away. Smells of body sweat, heightened as fright surrounds the atmosphere. A huge figure seems  aggravated by his captive's continued screams  for help. His body inflamed with anger as the captive kept shaking like a bird about to be killed for thanksgiving dinner. 

    The blindfold was unveiled from the trembling man's face, as bright light shone right into his eyes this prevented him from seeing  his kidnappers faces. Small beads of sweats circled around his forehead as his body kept on shaking in terror.  The thought of what might befall him tonight caused the chains tied around him to rattle the more. Even when his kidnappers tried holding him down he kept on struggling  then they had to hit him hard on his legs with a large weapon to keep him mute for a while.  

"Stay still and stop whining like a baby. " 

The biggest man in their midst warned  him. 

They had cartoon characters on their mask, it was hard to see their faces.        

   "who are you?." 

He cries in pain as he dares to look up.

"What do you want from me?. " he asked but they paid him no further attention.  

      A large white and black screen turned on, displaying an image of a man who had a mask like the others. 

"Good morning Dr Shin " a raspy voice came out from it 

" I'm sorry to have left you in such an unpleasant position,  they simply fail to understand how important you are to me? "

     "wait.... What is going on! Who the hell are you? 

"What do you want from me? "

He asked continuously  

" Too much question, Dr Shin?, "

The men moved closer and veiled his face again. 

" Noooo!, stop, wait! "

Amelia [POV]

      On a Monday morning, I went straight to the fertility center to inquire about sperm insemination. The beautiful Asian receptionist gave me a warm welcome even though  she kept looking out for someone else behind me, probably for my companion. My quick guess, it could be because most patients who seek help were mainly couples and I came alone. In the reception hallway  painted in light blue and white colour that brightens the room,  pictures of cute adorable babies were displayed on the walls of the clinic to signify the purpose of the institution.  

I sat back in one of the blue accent egg shaped chairs reserved for visitors after I had booked an appointment with the receptionist.  I really felt crazy at this moment as I watched others couples present. My mind was entirely made up after I had that dream. 

       The dream started vividly with my parents leaving me all over again, it started when they made their last trip to Alaska for their planned retreat. The older me tried warning my younger self to prevent them from travelling, I even tried screaming but my voice couldn't get through to them, it became so clear that I could do nothing to stop the hands of time, I had to watch my younger self hugging them tightly not knowing it was going to be the last time I would  feel them again in my arms, my mom softly kissed me before they faded away like they were never there.  I appeared by  their gravestone crying bitterly then a rowdy breeze blew me back to my new apartment where I found a baby wrapped inside a  pumpkin designed  basket dropped down on my doorstep. He looked so beautiful I couldn't leave him behind.

Once I grabbed him, I felt so different and strange that suddenly  I wake up, he was gone, I became overwhelmed with a feeling of emptiness.

" Miss Amelia, are you okay? '' the receptionist asked with her tinny voice, she handed me a clean napkins to wipe my tears. 

" I know how this process could make one feel, not everyone gets their happy endings but at Super Baby fertility Center,  we give our clients a hundred percent guild to solve their problem."

She assured me with words she had obviously used  a million times. 

I wiped my tearful eyes

" I'm  just excited that's all. "

I  said 

" Come with me" she said

I followed her into a room written in bold letters

The counselor's Office ,  The lady there looks older, she welcomed  me inside. Everyone in the clinic seemed so warm and accommodating. 

She advised me on how to go through the procedures and food I needed to take at that moment before my insemination.

Test I needed  to complete before, I would be fully ready. 

       After a long session of instructions and guild, she advised  me on topics related with childbearing  and the impact it would have on my life. I had to give up so many hours of my time fuddling and taking care of my child.  

I told her my story and the reason I wanted a baby so badly. She gave me a lot of papers and advised me to think it over.

      The next morning at my favorite coffee shop I nearly flipped my coffee when I saw Layla, she looked so sad and unhappy. 

I guess something was wrong with her, maybe the junk had finally  broken up with her.

That would be a great relief than she being stuck with a fool that doesn't appreciate her

What if he was still playing with her emotions, I really wish I could talk to her but I'm  not sure she would even listen or believe any word I say.  We didn't say anything ,  we just acknowledged each other with a nod and walked away. 

I wish I could talk to her about my plans to have a baby.  I just grabbed my latte and left for work. 

Omar walked around my block a few times but I clearly ignored him. 

      This was going to be my last day working on my desk as an accountant. 

I had plan on handing in my resignation letter today.

As I walked into the bank  memories of my days walking in through those doors as an intern two years ago flashed before my eyes.  I had just graduated, it was really pure luck  to have been accepted and getting on this far. 

I remembered having a house party with Layla to celebrate my success during that time I was still dating Aiden. 

Now I was  giving it all up for my pumpkin, I had  mixed feelings running through my mind but my only wish is to have my baby with me, me and my little pumpkin against the world. I wipe the tears off my eyes after handling my department admin my resignation letter. She raised her eyebrow and  give me the stare that says

" are you stupid? "

      I didn't have any friends in the office so it wasn't really hard for me , here everyone was fighting to keep their job. I obviously looked  ungrateful right now. I throw away the best job that I got by chance. 

Humph! 

I cleared my desk as some of my colleagues watched with curiosity. I just smiled to signify I was alright. 

         After a week of proper testing and preparation. I had to make a selection for the kind of sperm carrier I wanted . 

The trait quality I want my child to have, they supplied me with the full bio details of the sperm donor except his name to match my preference. 

Before the Implant, I met my attending doctor by the name Doctor Shin who had a cheery personality. I noticed he leaped slightly when he walked in. 

During the insemination, I was made to enter a room where I  lied down.  I slept for a while because I felt dizzy when I woke up the doctor was already done. I had to be bedridden for some period to make sure everything was properly done.
