Sophie's POV

“You have to come back. Please, tell me you are coming back soon.”

Sophie stuffed potato chips into her mouth from the potato bag in her hand to prevent her from laughing out loud. The look on Kristen's face glaring at her from the screen was just too funny.

And the fact that Kristen was calling her from the office on a Sunday evening was even more hilarious. She munched on the chips quickly when she saw Kristen giving her the puppy dog look.

“Talk to me, Boss. I need you right now.” She whined, pouting her lips.

Sophie shook her head with a grin. For some reason, she seemed to be enjoying the whole thing going on.

“I'm not sure I will be coming back,” she shrugged, lazily.

As Sophie uttered those words, reality hit her that she truly might not be going back to the office even if care wasn't taken. There was no way in hell that she would agree to be Giovanni's wife and her father would hold her to it forever.

They weren't divulging anything useful and the whole Idea was pissing him off. It was making him so upset and mad.“Tyler, you have to calm down. You can't let one mistake drive you into making a bigger one.” Gabby was trying to reason with him to no avail.“I don't want to calm down, Gab. This is the second time. They keep giving excuses. I'm not paying them to have them feed me excuses. This is total bullshit!” He was so angry, one could see it in his fisted palms.Gabby sighed and leaned against the wall to watch his friend. Tyler's POVTyler was a bit taken aback by the design of the room when Sophie pulled him in. It was the first time he was coming into her room. Heck, it was the first time he would make it into her apartment. It had always been his.Throwing his glance away from the white walls, he angled his body toward the lady in shorts, seated on the large bed. Sophie sat there staring at him patiently.“What?” he questioned when she wouldn't stop staring at his face. She palmed her face, her body still a bit pale from the event of the past few days. She had gotten so quiet, she hardly ever spoke.“Sophie?” Tyler sighed as he moved toward her. He wasn't sure exactly what he was going to do with her but she was seated there, not looking at him and the whole thing was making him uncomfortable.“Will you talk to me, please?” he pleaded, crouching down low in front of her.Sophie sighed and shook her head. She wanted to say something. She knew she had to say something to him especially as she pulled h

Joyce was fuming. There was something cooking deeply at the pit of her stomach that wouldn't stop pulsing up her veins. She was really pissed off. The plan had been to see if Sophie was okay, walking into a compromising position between the duo was way out of the plan. Her gaze drifted from Sophie's wide eyes to the face of the man in front of her. Tyler only managed a small smile at her unable to tell what exactly was on Joyce's mind. If Sophie didn't notice, Tyler had turn around in time to see a small frown make its way to the latter's face.“I'm sorry, ” Joyce was anything but apologetic at that moment but she forced herself to mouth the words to her best friend who looked slightly offended by the interruption.Tyler moved away from the bed and rather than Joyce leave, she stood there by the door watching the duo. At the end, Tyler smiled and walked out of the room, brushing past Joyce with a murmur of apology. Joyce stared at his retreating figure with a tight smile.“What was th

Sophie's mouth was agape as the car sped into the opened gate, her head turned toward the window, watching every sight her eyes could catch with the speed of the car. She had lived in America all her life but not once had she thought about this place. It had never occurred to her that she would want to visit a place like this. She hadn't even realized that there was a place like this in a long time and now, she couldn't shut her mouth.“You like it?” Tyler whispered, drawing her closer with his hands wrapped tightly around her. Since the limo picked them up from the airport, he had kept her close. They needed to keep appearances, especially with her friends around.“I, I…” Sophie trailed off, a nod following her lack of words. Tyler smiled beside her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. The car had stopped now and all the occupants were still fighting to speak. They were speechless by the beauty of the place.Sophie's head whipped around to meet Tyler's eager icy gaze. Sophie ran the tip of the blunt red lipstick over her lips for the umpteenth time, pursing her lips here and there for the desired effect. She smacked her lips together to merge the color she had previously run over it together. Grabbing a pair of her earrings from the opened jewelry box she had brought along with her, Sophie slipped the round loops on.She took a step back and bent over to slip her feet into her Prada peep toe heels, a rest from her usual stilettos and six inches. Just as she started to fasten the strap, the door to the bathroom opened, and out came a dressed Tyler.Sophie paused what she was doing, her gaze skirting over his outfit for a second. Her pulse raced more than she intended for it to as her heart slowed for a second. He was dressed in nothing but black jeans, his feet slipped into a pair of Nike Converse. The navy blue shirt he had over the jeans, untucked, looked as beautiful as he had imagined it to be. Maybe even more beautiful. Her lips parted and her

Tyler leaned over the table, a lingering smile on his face as he watched Sophie. His glass of scotch was barely holding up in his child-like grip; one shake and it would slip from his hand.He was losing it.He was at the edge of it.He didn't know what she was doing but it was working. Before now, Tyler didn't care about what women wore or didn't wear. Before now, he didn't care how they talked or how they drank. He didn't enjoy watching people, he loved being alone. Before now, Tyler never knew watching people talk could be oddly satisfying.Well, till Sophie. That was till Sophie because now he couldn't keep his eyes off her. Why had she worn the black dress? Had she known it would turn him on because it was certainly working that moment. His cock strained against his jeans as if to remind him that it was still alive. He watched her red lips part as a cackle escaped her, shoulders quaking elegantly. When she laughed, all he could see was heaven. He watched each movement of her lips

The loud bang on the door for the umpteenth time that morning made Sophie let out a low groan. Her eyes were screwed shut and she was extremely tired. All she wanted at that moment was to sleep in but with the heavy pound on the door, she knew she had to get her ass up.The pound increased followed by a voice she was very familiar with.Sophie groaned loudly to no one in particular as she gripped the tip of her covers, she flung it off her. As she opened her eyes for the first time that morning, a loud startling scream escaped her at the sight of the blue-eyed man lying on the bed beside her. He had his eyes on her, his lips curved up in a sly smirk that almost had her bolting out of the bed.Almost.“Were you aiming to kill me?” She screamed, her hand flying to her chest to steady her now racing heart. She eyed him as his smile grew.“It's not funny, Ty.” She hissed, a bit annoyed that he wasn't taking her seriously. She almost lost her mind at the sight of him. “I almost lost my god

"So, what do you think?” Harper passed her tablet to Joyce who was seated beside her in a roller chair getting her toenails done. They had done their fingernails earlier and it was all dried up.Joyce's eyes scrutinized the different dresses on the screen, taking time to admire every intricate design of the white dresses and what set them apart from each other. Harper hadn't been joking when she said she was going to take charge and Joyce was going to let her. She needed to get her mind off the scum she still thought about.Although Harper had been secretive, they all knew she was still greatly disturbed by everything. If planning a wedding for her was what she needed, then they could go ahead and do it.“Uhm, I love this,” Joyce muttered, pointing at the lacy dress. When the girls passed her looks, she raised the tablet up for them to see and as soon as their eyes fell on the dresses, they all nodded in affirmation.“That will look impeccable on you, darling.” Sophie complimented, a

Kristen folded her arms against her chest as she stared at Sophie. She wasn't complaining about having her in her house but Sophie could be exhausting. Especially in moments when she was this stubborn. And she was done, she couldn't deal with this attitude of hers anymore.“Do you need me to call Willow because I will. Oh, I know. Joyce would get here quicker than Willow would.” She tsked, eyeing the woman in pajamas lying on the floor of the living room to Netflix and chill.“You wouldn't dare,” Sophie barely glanced away from the screen of the TV as she grabbed a handful of popcorn from the bowl in front of her and poured them into her mouth. The number of people that had turned up were more than she had expected but she was glad that she had enough resources to handle them. She had just finished selling off a beautiful glass piece to a man when Joyce pulled her aside for a break."Heard anything from them yet?” she whispered as Joyce pulled her away from the scene to a corner.“Not yet,” Joyce whispered back with a hiss. She had gathered all the obvious evidence she could find and made him set up a meeting with Adelaide on the guise of getting her to confess to what she had done alongside Manuel and Andy. His half-brothers were very smart and intelligent but one thing they all had in common was their pride at their winnings which always led them to gloat and talk about everything they weren't supposed to.All it had taken were a few bottles of drinks to get them put behind bars. He knew that it was only a matter of time before Giovanni De Luca figured out who he was. When Sophie opened her eyes, everything seemed fuzzy and out of focus. She blinked a few times, trying to clear her vision, but everything remained hazy and indistinct. Slowly, she became aware of a dull ache in her head, and she realized that she must have hit her head during the accident. She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her and she slumped back down onto the bed. Everything was a blur, both literally and figuratively. As she struggled to regain her senses, the memories of the accident began to come back to her in flashes. She remembered the screech of the tires, the sickening crunch of metal, and the blinding pain that had followed. It was all a blur, but slowly the details were starting to come into focus. She tried to sit up again, this time with more success. She took a deep breath and looked around, trying to get her bearings. Where was she?It wasn't until she finally registered the antiseptic smell that came with hospitals and the white walls that
