He just made his presence known to her and his happiness, but he didn’t push for more conversation as Purity was busy with me. Me and my wolf, despite the tears between us, couldn’t stop talking about the things she missed while she was gone and her experiences in between realms. CATHERINE. The males went out to the forest for a game of hunting, as it was the start of autumn and the hunting season in the human world had just begun. I, on the other hand, was in Amara’s office. We just ended a video call with Lexi as we notified her of the furniture that arrived these past few days for the big nursery that we renovated. It was the same nursery that Jace, Tyler, and Austin used when they were babies and the same one I had, but I was there alone during my time. There were three rooms and a big receiving room that served as the play area. Each room was painted according to the parents’ preferences. Although Dad Jake wanted to personally file his candidacy for Council head, Dad and Uncle Aaron warned him that they would tackle him down if he attempted to leave the territory. They knew Dad would do as he pleased, but Uncle Lucas was right — it was better to keep him safe from Alpha Grant’s wrath than regret things later on, especially since it was already out in the open that Alpha Grant never played fair with everything. Seven Months after the Beta Union. CATHERINE. My body stirred awake at the sound of an approaching car. I had no idea that I had fallen asleep because I’d been waiting for Tyler and my brother to come home. I was glad I left the window open so I could hear them. My lashes fluttered before I was finally able to open my eyes and stare blankly at the dark ceiling while my heart continuously thudded loudly. My mind was still in a daze, but by impulse, I shoved my blanket off my body and rose to my feet. I made my way to the window, wanting to be sure if it was them that came home.
