PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END.
Lovelies,
Another journey ends, and words will not be able to express my gratitude to everyone who stayed and finished this book with me. I appreciate your readership — the time, coins, gems, and thoughts you shared with me.
The Beta and I is my most emotional book. I couldn't count the number of chapters we all cried together, and I think this book gave the longest hell week in all of my series—from the moment Catherine met Maddox to her time at the Dark Forest territory until the Claiming.
But it is an adventure I would always be proud to have taken with all of you. 💜
Tyler and Catherine's story ends today, but it will spiral into more adventures as we go along with the series to meet other characters.
The third installment of the ALPHA BLOOD CIRCLE will be Gamma Austin and Lexi's story. The book title is LET THE GAMMA FALL FOR ME. 💗
However, after The Beta and I, I will take a pause with this series and focus on continuing the third book in my INTO THE DARKNESS Saga.
I hope I will meet you in the North for another adventure, but this time with Alpha Blade and Althea.
After their story, I will come back and bring you the Gamma couple.
But before we end, I would like to make a request. If you have time to spare, please leave a review for THE BETA AND I on the book's main page. It doesn't matter if you left a review before. I still want to hear your thoughts as the book ends.
It will also help my book get exposure and attract more readers. This book is also competing in the GN Under the Moonlight Writing Contest, and any comments, gems, coins, and views you give this book will help me in this contest. ♡
To leave a review, simply click anywhere on this page to reveal three dots in the upper-right corner. Just choose 'About This Book,' and it will take you to the main page, where you can leave your review. This will mean a lot to me!
And don't forget to drop us some gems if you enjoyed and love this story as a farewell gift to our Beta couple as well as the rest of the Betas we met along the way!
Thank you again for sharing this journey with me, lovelies! It was a wonderful ride!

ALICE. My hands sweated as I stared out the window. I was at Catherine and Tyler’s union at the Black Shadow Pack, hiding in one of the private rooms of the ballroom, as I was not really invited here. But I let my brother Roan pitch in for me, and in the end, I was given a go signal to attend. All because Joshua, my fated mate, requested to speak with me, and he thought this was the best place we could meet. I have known Joshua all my life since we were classmates during high school at the Shadow Academy, but as much as he was famous for having so many side chicks, he was a complete asshole. So I tried to stay away. Besides, he was not on my list. When I said my list, it meant the people I needed to be
ALICE. “We’re good. Let’s just get it on so I can release my buildup.” “Excuse me?” I asked, my brows furrowing. Did he just say he wanted a release? Did he want to get on with this mate bond so he could fuck me? “I said, let’s get on with the rejection so I don’t need to stop myself from doing things I’m supposed to do.” My mouth hung open as the words sank in, but I was able to mask my emotions right away. It took a lot to restrain myself from shaking in anger. “Rejection? What the hell was that? Are we not even going to talk about us first?” I asked, trying to sound calm, but I was sure I was failing. “It’s not going to work, Alice.” He took a deep breath before he continued. “My mom does not approve. It will just be hard for both of us. I’m sure your father doesn’t approve as well.” I shook my head, biting my inner cheek before I replied. “Yes, he doesn’t approve.” “So… that’s then.” He took another deep breath, and I knew he would carry on with rejection, but I beat him
ALICE. “Oh, shit!” I mumbled as I stared in horror at my brother while slowly clamping my legs together. My gaze shifted from Roan to Joshua. A smirk tugged on my mate’s lips as his hand withdrew from my throbbing pussy. And as if the smirk was not enough to upset me. He had the nerve to insert his fingers in his mouth and begin sucking them. Good for him because he could not see how the color drained from Roan’s face and how red tints crept into the cheeks of the female beside him. If the floor would just open and swallow me, I would welcome it, take Joshua with me, and push him further into the pits of hell. He was clearly enjoying this while I wanted to pee from the embarrassment of being caught. Of all people, why did it have to be my brother? My chest kept heaving. As soon as I was sure my dress was back in its proper place and was covering my front, my hands went to Joshua’s chest, and I pushed him away. I pushed him hard, but his body jolted only a bit before he slowly
TWO WEEKS LATER. ALICE. The party at Catherine’s union ended, and I never saw Joshua again, only for us to find out that he left even before the party was over, so the rejection never happened. I didn’t want to be rejected, but Roan talked me into it. And maybe he was right. I was better off alone than with someone who wouldn’t even treat me right. Although my wolf was not in agreement, I had made up my mind — I would tell him I was ready for the rejection. A week went by, and I had not heard from him. By the second week, I tried calling their packhouse, but it was always his father who answered the phone, and Joshua was always away. I had introduced myself — my name and not as his mate — and requested to have him call me. I even left my own mobile number, but he never called back. The full moon will be less than a week away, and I didn’t want a repeat of the last time. I was not going to deny that I miss him and that, at night or whenever I could, I would pleasure myself with
ALICE.I was here for almost two hours, and Joshua was still not around. I was hungry and bored, so when River invited me for lunch, I didn’t hesitate and accepted it.Instead of the usual dining room, she took me to the back of the packhouse, to a gazebo where lunch for two people was prepared.“Wow, it’s nice here.” I meant that. You could never go wrong with nature as a view.“I’m glad you like it. The Omegas prepared lunch in the dining room for you, but I thought you might not want to eat alone as nobody is here yet, so I just asked them to put it here so I can eat with you.”My brows furrowed. I took a seat while my eyes followed River as she sat on her chair beside me.“We can also eat together in the dining room,” I said nonchalantly, but I thought I picked up something from her words. “I’m sorry. I know it’s more comfortable there, but I’m not allowed to eat there without Joshua.”“No! I actually like it here better.” I swallowed before I continued. “Can I ask you a question
ALICE. “If you’re here for the rejection, it’s not going to happen today,” Joshua said as if he were just talking about the weather. But that was good news - I thought to myself before I slowly turned around to face him at the exact time he shut the door. “Just give me the rejection so I can live in peace and start with my life,” I told him as if I meant it while my heart thudded loudly, hoping he would not give in. “Didn’t you hear what I said when I came in?” He scoffed, crossing his arms across his chest, but I didn’t miss the way his eyes raked my whole body before he focused on my face again. And even without any expression on his face, his action made my pussy throb. “Uhm. What happened to let’s get to it so we can get past this?” “I changed my mind. Or let’s say I haven’t decided yet if I want you or not.” “Well, I’m sorry, Mr. Joshua Westmore. I’m not here for a taste test. Give me the rejection.” “Are you deaf? I already said I wouldn’t. If you want to do it, then
JOSHUA. I was at the Blood Moon Pack with Alpha Aeon when the call came that told me Alice was at the border of our territory. This female definitely could not be told. I had been avoiding her calls and never called her back, but still, she didn’t get the hint that I didn’t want to communicate with her at the moment. But then I remembered that the full moon would be in a couple of days, and she probably wanted the rejection. But there was no fucking way I would give it to her. I admit that prior to seeing her in Catherine’s union, I had made up my mind to reject her. I was so done with Mom ringing my ear off by telling me to cut any ties with Alice. I just wanted to get it over and done so we could all move on and I could still be in the running for the Alpha post I wanted all my life. I knew I was the rightful heir, but if you had lived your life knowing it could be taken away from you any fucking time, you would certainly behave like me. I wanted to do everything, and I m
ALICE.I called Roan, and I got an earful from my brother. He obviously didn’t want me to be here after his encounter with Joshua, but I told him to trust me on this one. I assured him that Joshua promised he would look after me, even if Joshua didn’t say anything like that except to have my back against his mother.Roan was still hesitant about my decision, but I told him I wanted to do this for myself and for my wolf, Nala. “I’m still not understanding why you are pushing for this, Alice. Just ask for the rejection.” He said, sounding annoyed.“I told you I didn’t want to without trying to see if this would work between us. You think I’m being stubborn again, but you will understand once you meet your mate.”“You know that is next to impossible.” He said, letting out a sigh. He was right. If the females in our family never met their fated mate in recent decades, so did the males in recent years. Most of our cousins would joke around that our bloodline was cursed, so no one really
BOOK 3 OF THE ALPHA BLOOD CIRCLE IS NOW SERIALIZING ON THIS APP! (This is a free note, you should not be paying any coins for this) --------------------Title: LET THE GAMMA FALL FOR ME Full Blurb: My name is Alexandria Ricafort.Or call me Lexi for short. My mother was an ordinary she-wolf mated to a human, making me a half-breed. After my father's untimely death when I was fourteen, my mother and I left the human territory and sought shelter in a new pack. But with both of them gone, I struggled to fit into a world full of shifters without a wolf. I already knew from the very beginning that I was more human than a werewolf. So the moment I turned eighteen, I packed my bags, thanked the couple that took me in, and moved out of the Black Shadow Pack to start my own adventure somewhere else. And just when I found my peace and purpose in human territory, the world of shifters came knocking on my door, ready to create havoc in the guise of my hot "so-called stepbrother," Austin.
THREE YEARS FROM THE CLAIMING (continuation of The Betas’ Day Out, Chapter 129 of this book). ALICE. “You are fashionably late!” Catherine said, giggling. She kissed my cheek before she took my almost two-year-old daughter, Ayesha, from my arms and cuddled her, whispering sweet nothings to her as I hugged the rest of the Beta females and Lawrence’s Luna. While my mate went directly to the males huddled on the other side of the room. We were invited to the Dark Crows Pack for Garrett’s third birthday, but we passed by Roan’s territory so we could convoy with them going in here. But he had an urgent thing that needed attention, so Joshua helped him first before driving here. But we notified them ahead of time, so Catherine was just teasing us when we arrived. After Joshua and I got mated, Catherine and Tyler introduced us to the other Betas that were on the same ground as us on the Claiming, which changed all our fates. We met Beta Brandon and Vicky of the Red River Pack, Beta
A YEAR AFTER THE LAST CHAPTER. JOSHUA. I stood beside Gamma Julius as we discussed the final security instructions for Alice’s baby shower tomorrow. We didn’t have many guests, mostly Alphas and their Lunas, so we had to be strict. I didn’t want this event to be the reason for us to be shunned if anything happened to any of the Lunas while they were in our territory. Alice was already in her seventh month of pregnancy, and Nikka insisted on throwing a baby shower for her. It would just be a formal lunch and a small get-together after that. The people she wanted to be here were all invited. Who would have thought that Amara and Jace would be entering our territory tomorrow? It took a while before Amara and Alice became comfortable with each other, but it finally happened. And I could only look back at all the stupid things I did and said to Amara, but I was glad that she and Jace both gave me and Alice a chance to be better and to make up for the way we acted toward them.
JOSHUA. “We did it. We did it, Luna Alice….” I mumbled back at my mate while pecking her forehead. The day we had been waiting for finally came. Dad decided to give me the pack even before my 20th birthday. I guessed my refusal to back down about Eugene, and my ignoring Mom’s tactics opened his eyes to the fact that I was ready to leave this pack anytime. And with no one to pass the title on, it terrified him, especially when he realized the people were more comfortable doing business with me than him. Or simply because he was already tired. The arrogance in his eyes had been long gone. And I seldom hear him raise his voice. Eugene leaving the territory started the spreading of news that he was the Luna’s son but not the Alpha’s. Even in modern society, this is still frowned upon. The Alphas could have many pups, but the Lunas were supposed to be perfect. And if I were not who I was at this point, I would probably be on the side of the people mocking my own father for this. Th
FIVE MONTHS LATER. JOSHUA. The days turned into weeks. And then into months. But we never got the answer we were looking for. River was still nowhere to be found. The CCTV footage of her in the train station showed she went inside a train heading for Atlanta. On the same day, some of my men went to that city. My father didn’t want to spend any dime looking for River, and since I had no jurisdiction to give orders to our trackers, I was not able to seek assistance from them. Cyrus, however, extended his help again and sent his own trackers to do the job. And so did Roan and Kairo since their packs were nearest to Atlanta. But even with them and their friends helping us and using their own resources, we couldn’t find her. Like she just vanished into thin air. Alice had gone to her room the day after she left and checked if she left any clues, but there was nothing telling us where she had gone. She saw Cyrus’ calling cards in the trash bins, and she told him about it. And I
LADY RIVER. I didn’t know I had fallen asleep on the train ride to Bernice City. I was grateful the female from whom I bought the ticket woke me up and told me we were approaching the station where I needed to get off. After making sure everything I had in my bag was still intact, I took my aunt’s address out and asked her if it was a long way from the station. She told me I needed to take a bus to get there. I was left with no choice but to tell her I couldn’t read and that I might end up somewhere far from this place. Her eyes softened as she grabbed a pen from her pocket and ripped a piece of paper from her notepad. She began to draw something out of it before she handed it to me. “When you get out of here, you will see a red building. Cross that street to get there. And in the direction where a colorful rainbow arch is, head in that direction. Follow that sidewalk. Just continue forward. You will pass three corners. On the fourth corner, turn left. Here.” She pointed at the
ALICE. I couldn’t believe it was possible for a pack to hate a future Beta as much as this pack hated Eugene. Joshua put him in the middle of the quadrangle and ordered two whips on his back before he asked his warrior to tie him up on the post. He told him he would remain there all night until he denounced the pack. I knew Joshua could force his father to banish him, but I also knew Joshua wanted to put him there for the whole pack to see. Before we departed, Joshua commanded his men to guard him and inform him once he denounced the pack. But he allowed everyone to throw a punch or two if they wanted. In the beginning, no one was coming near Eugene. Until we were informed by one of the warriors that there were two females, clad in a big hoodie and long black skirt, who came and threw a punch at him. Those females didn’t want to be identified but surely wanted to do that. Joshua told them to just let them and to never block anyone from approaching him. So, aside from these t
ALICE. My coiled fist connected with his jaw. I had punched several men in my lifetime, but I was sure I had never hit anyone as hard as I hit Eugene. After Kenneth told us in what state he found Eugene and River, I knew that there would never come a time when I would forgive him. Ever. Of all the females to assault, he chose River — someone who was too good for anybody. Rage was ruling my whole body, and I acted without thinking. As soon as my fist hit him, a loud growl erupted from his throat, and even though he staggered back, he was able to gather his footing right away. And before I knew it, he was launching at me. “You, mother fucker!” He roared, his arm stretching back with his hand balled into a tight fist. He was planning to hit me back. My eyes widened, and even if I wanted to scream, no sound left my lips. But I saw a figure pass me, and the next thing I saw was Joshua lunging at Eugene. His hand snaked around his neck before he slammed his body to the ground. A lo
RIVER. “Again, who told you that you get to decide?” He growled lowly before I heard him unstrap his belt, and fear coursed through my whole body. He was starting to unzip his pants when I finally had the courage to move myself. My hands pushed his stomach away as my feet kicked his knees. He staggered backward, and I took the opportunity to run, but he was fast. He caught my hair and slammed my body against the hood of his car. In no time, he was hovering over me. His eyes were dilating, and if looks could kill, I would be dead already. “Please let me go!” I shrieked. My hands were on his chest, trying to stop him from leaning closer. “After you fucking flirt with me, you will leave me hanging? Can’t you feel how hard my cock is already? You need to finish what you fucking started, whore!” I tried to push him, but I couldn’t move as my feet were caged in between his thighs, and I could feel his erection against mine, but before he could dip his face into mine, I saw a hand gra
