Book 2: Chapter 22-Escape

“What’s the news?” Travis asked when Cyrus arrived.

“We were late. They weren’t at their house anymore when I went there.”

Travis stood up and put his hands in both pockets of his trousers.

“I have also placed some men at the bus station to look for them.”

“Why do they have to hide so much?” Travis was irritated and it took a month for them to find Sunshine.

From where she’s hiding, Jessica smiled and immediately moved away from the door. She made sure the work of their trusted men was clean so that no further investigation would happen.

“What are you doing here?”

In her surprise, Jessica abruptly looked at the speaker. She glanced at the door of the library before looking at the teenager again. “I would like to talk to Uncle Travis but it looks like he’s talking to your dad.”

Wondering, Cyril stared at the woman for a moment before looking at the closed door.
