EVANORA’S POV I blinked continuously at the sight of Matthew. For a second, it felt surreal and it took a moment of continuous staring for me to believe it was truly him. “Matthew!” I cried out, immediately rushing towards him. I had no idea I had missed him that much when it had only been a few days without him. “God, it really is you.” Taking him off balance, I threw myself at him, hugging him tightly. I heard a chuckle escape from his lips as he wrapped his arms around me, hugging me back. “Goodness, you acting like this is the reason your dad thinks something is going on between us.” With a playful scowl, I pulled away and pouted at him. “I missed you. And I’m so sorry.” “What are you sorry for?” he pats me on the shoulder. “You didn’t do anything.” I couldn’t help but smile at him. I wondered how he was fairing and if everything was really fine with him as I could no longer trust my dad. “How have you been?” I finally asked. “I know my dad dismissed you because of me. How
BLADE'S POVExcitedly counting down to the hours left till I got to see Evanora had become a normal thing for me to do but at the same time, it seemed to be one I never got tired of.As quickly as I could, I concluded my activities for the day and returned to my room to get prepared to see Evanora. She had managed to stay on my mind the whole day as I didn't just miss her, I was also worried about her. After our last meeting, I couldn't help but constantly worry about how she was fairing. How her dad was treating her and how she was dealing with it. I wondered if they were still insisting on getting her married and even worse if it was still affecting her to the point of tears.Just the thought of Evanora crying managed to enrage me. She was so precious to me, I swore I wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who laid a finger on her or made her shed tears. With a grunt, I stepped out of the bathroom. Unfortunately, her dad was the one in question at the moment so there was little, if not no
EVANORA’S POVI woke up more ecstatic than usual. That was the effect Blade had on me. He made me smile. He made me happy. He brightened my day.I felt comfort at his words from the previous night and somehow the warmth and comfort had managed to extend towards the following morning. My dad wasn't at the table during breakfast and I oddly wasn't even bothered the slightest bit. I was too busy getting lost in my own happy trance to realize he wasn't with me.I concluded my breakfast quickly and headed to my training room. It was going to be impossible to hide how I felt from Matthew and I had no intention of trying. With a chuckle escaping my lips, I raised my head to mentally count the steps left for me till I got to the training room. Maybe it was because I was in such a good mood thinking about Blade but for some reason, the training room felt farther than usual.I took another step and quite surprisingly, I watched a couple of guys appear out of nowhere to stand in my front.Archi
EVANORA'S POVI spent the rest of my day in my room, locked up with just me and my thoughts. The palace was surprisingly quiet the whole time. After what happened with the witch, I was expecting my dad to storm into my room and uselessly try to lecture me. I sneered at the thought. What were they expecting from the stunt they pulled? Were they trying to compel me? Were they that desperate to get me married to the Prince?I shivered as I recalled how the witch managed to get me in control. It felt strange and unfamiliar for me to barely be in control of myself. It was scary and I was only thankful I somehow managed to get out of her grip.Glancing at the clock by my side, I checked the time. I had been patiently waiting till sunset so I could sneak out to meet Blade. Thanks to the condition of things, I had to stall even longer making me wait till it was even later before I got out of bed.It was already dark by the time I got out of bed, got freshened up, and got ready to sneak out.
EVANORA’S POVIt just had to be a dream.Instead of sneaking out to meet Blade at night, I’d somehow slept off in my room and was currently dreaming about my dad catching me right in the act. Dreams worked that way, didn’t they? They came in form of one's worst nightmares just to frighten us once in a while.“Evanora, is something up?” Blade’s voice pulled me out of my momentary trance. “Why did you suddenly-”No, no.I watched Blade rise to his feet and then walk towards me, not caring if he had no clothes on. Immediately, my dad turned to look away from his naked body and it was at that moment I knew it wasn’t all a nightmare.Shit. Without thinking twice, I pushed Blade away from me even before he could hold me and immediately bent to pick my clothes from the floor. Not caring if I was putting them on correctly, I threw them over my head to just cover myself.“Evanora?”“Shit, get dressed,” I cursed under my breath as I said to Blade. I was burning with embarrassment and could ba
EVANORA’S POVI could feel my dad’s gaze bore holes in my skin as I remained in my position, watching Blade’s figure slowly disappear. His anger could be sensed from up to a mile away. I couldn’t blame him though, he had every reason to be angry. He had just found out his daughter, the vampire princess was in love with a werewolf. An Alpha at that.“Princess Evanora.” Unfortunately for him, my understanding of his anger wasn’t enough justification for his actions. Regardless, he should have kept Blade away from it and had us deal with it personally. He had no right to insult the man I loved and I was not going to simply have that slide.“How dare you, dad?” I replied to him, turning to face him. “How could you?”“Excuse me?” contrary to his words, he didn’t look surprised at me. “What the hell are you talking about?”“You know exactly what I am talking about!” I yelled. “How could you threaten to kill Blade?”He chuckled softly, getting on my nerves even more. “You should be gratefu
EVANORA’S POVA whole three days had passed by since the last time I was allowed to step out of my room.My dad meant every word when telling me I wasn’t going to be allowed to leave the room. By the doors, were armed guards ready to attack me at even my slightest attempt to escape and the windows were laced with fresh vervain every morning to stop me from trying to pass through them.It was useless to act stubbornly. There was literally no way out.Refusing to admit defeat so easily, I refused to eat for the first day. Irritated every time a new maid appeared with a tray of food, I’d yell at them and send them out, feeling satisfied from the look of fear on their faces. My dad however seemed just as angry as I was as he was relentless. With every maid I sent out of my room, a new one was sent in the next hour. I couldn’t understand him. He obviously didn’t care about my feelings or what I wanted so why was he so bothered about me eating or not?By the second day, I’d become weak fr
EVANORA’S POVI had no idea I could miss the training that much. The familiar movements as we threw punches and kicks, the grunts that erupted from us as a result, the stench of sweat, and the feeling after defeating Matthew- I missed it all so much though it had only been a few days.Truth was that I missed being in action. I missed doing things other than sulking and getting angrier with every passing second. Though wasn’t perfect, I missed my old life before it took its very dramatic turn.“I see you’ve gotten extremely good, princess,” Matthew commented as he took my hand. “To be honest, I was expecting a little slack from you considering you haven’t done any training or activity in the past couple of days.”“Too bad,” I snickered. “You didn’t get what you were expecting.”“Tell me,” he said as he dusted his hands. “What were you doing for the whole three days? Training secretly? Now that I think about it, you don’t seem like the kind of person to just sit around calmly doing noth
