Jasmine’s POV‘Just One Day, Sebastian.’The words lived rent-free in my head as I made a mental note of them. The last time I went to his office, he threatened to not just come for me, but for Asher as well, and now...“I hate you, asshole.” I sobbed silently. It would be a different thing if he was just after me. And now that Asher was roped in the middle of my mess, I had to find a way out, for at least Asher. He didn't deserve all of this I was putting him through. "What do you freaking want?!” I groaned. "Don't be a coward and step out,” I mumbled, hoping Sebastian was around the vicinity and hearing me. “I know you can hear me,” I whispered shakily in the open space. "Come out and face me,” I say yet another word I didn't mean. It was scary enough that he knew my place, and now he got to randomly stop by, irrespective of the hours of the day, and drop gifts. What if Asher had answered and seen this trash? How would I explain to him that Sebastian asked for a day with me and
Jasmine's POV“She must still be in the dark...... I bet, she's so naive...”A few staff whispered to one another as I clocked in at the reception and walked past the hallway to my office. I was very much certain that it was about me because the murmur intensified when they saw me. What was wrong though? “... I would never forgive him if I were her...... They are like siblings, after all...”The worst part was that a few glared at me without blinking for once. Jeez! I was going wild. I tried to keep my balance and not look behind me to see if someone else was there, it would seem like their nasty behaviors were getting to me. It's rude! Can you guys trim it down?! I wanted to tell them so desperately, it was getting really annoying and uncomfortable, but what if they were not talking about me? The odds were high, I got past the reception, and down the hallway and everyone kept shooting glances and whispering, quite loud enough for my hearing. But then again, I could be paranoid.
Jasmine’s POV.‘Liam is innocent.’ I whispered to myself countless times, hoping to believe my words over theirs. Kylie knew something. And it was freaking me out. What scared me the most was that I was thinking in a direction I shouldn't in a million years. She was playing a mind’s game with me, and I bet she knew she was getting to me. "I need to go through with this and give them to Dr. Berneji, you know how grumpy he can be.” She tried to bail out.“Jasper told Liam he wouldn't be handing him the footage, and I had to let it go.” I held her back with my statement. She needed to finish what she started. Dr. Kylie scoffed and resumed scouting through the files in silence, hurting me deeper with unspoken words of Liam's involvement in my ruin. “You would be dumb to expect a criminal to admit to their crime even with a gun put to their head.” She spoke in riddles. She was right, sadly. If Liam truly had a hand in all of it, it would be crazy of me to expect him to provide me wit
Asher's POV“Jeez!” I gasped, seeing a Jasmine that could pass for a ghost. "What happened?” Jasmine was terribly devastated. She looked a mess, like a shadow of herself, and even worse like she survived the apocalypse. She was flushed, with tons of poker dots that were like freckles. She was terribly scared and reacting. Instead of responding, she broke down, sobbing. Words failed her... Or maybe her strength failed... Or both. Her bag dropped to the floor and she hugged me tightly, clinging to me like life itself. I pulled her into my arms, not saying a word. Mere words wouldn't put together this broken image I was staring at. Tons of crazy questions took flight in my frenzy mind. If this ever had to do with Sebastian, then either of us has to bury the other. I was done with the back and forth, pretty done with watching him threaten my home and causing my lover her peace of mind. Surely, it would end today. “Mummy!” The kids threw themselves on her in their usual innocent fash
Jasmine's POV“Common Asher, you shouldn't have.” I frowned as I walked back to the inside and he followed me from behind. “Someone needed to teach him a lesson, he...”"Can you stop? Please." I groan. "I pleaded that you let Liam be. Rylee called, crying badly on the phone.” I revealed with so much annoyance. If only Asher had listened to me, I wouldn't be feeling as guilty as I was now. Instead, he followed me upstairs to the bedroom in silence. He tossed the car key on the table stand beside the lamp and sat at the edge of the bed, not willing to budge. He began to rip off his clothes one at a time, getting ready for a bath to wash off his filth. I was riled up, finding out Liam did that to me got me so furious, but with Asher throwing random punches got me more worked up. Maybe something was better left unsaid. I promised Asher to not keep the tiniest of secrets, but it didn't seem like I could keep up with the act. I had a reason for asking him to let Liam be, he wasn't worth
Sebastian’s POV"Jeez, can't it wait?” I sighed nonstop. My phone buzzed on my office desk for the umpteenth time. Tired of the incessant call, I reached out to grab it and looked at the caller. It was a private number. Both curious and anxious, I swiped the answer button, put the call on speaker, and dropped the phone on my desk. "Sebastian, it's your mum...” My mother’s sweet and frail voice boomed from the speaker. What the fuck! I could swear I wasn’t expecting her to be the caller. Maybe Jasmine’s lover... He had scary reasons to if he learned I was threatening his wife. Or maybe Jasmine herself, but never my mother. In haste, I picked up the phone and removed it from the speaker. If my mum was calling me with a private number, she definitely has some tea to spill which shouldn't get into the hearings of a third party, and knowing how nosy some staff... Dr. Kylie was, it was better safe than sorry. "Hey, mum." I managed a response and faked a smile as though she could see m
Jasmine’s POV"I'm still here.” My voicemail message sounded. “Shit.” I let out a soft sigh. I had missed Rylee’s call, and when I flipped my wristwatch to check what time it was, it was crystal clear that I was fifteen minutes late and counting. In haste, I rushed out of my office, with my bag and gadget clutched to my bosom. I got into the car, and dumped my properties on the vacant seat, with a few dropping to the floor, but I didn't bother. Switching on the ignition, I started the ride to the restaurant which was sadly thirty minutes away. Rylee would be pissed as fuck, especially since this incident, it would seem like I was acting up suddenly, and I doubt she would give a damn about my stupid excuses. Finally, I arrived at the restaurant, and I literally ran out of the park. I walked into the restaurant and met a new Rylee... The heavy strings her devastated image pulled, made my heart hurt. By the extreme, she sat, moody and sad and hurt. She was more like a shadow of he
Jasmine’s POV8: 30 AM I arrived quite late today, not after the threat to bring down the hospital from Rylee. My insomnia worsened and I found it hard to concentrate throughout the night. “Jeez,” I mumbled softly once I opened the door and saw Liam sitting on his side of the office. Not like I wasn’t expecting to see him, but he was the last person I was ready to face. But I had to, because I couldn't possibly erect a new office in the parking lot, or go over to the nasty Dr. Berneji and put up with him momentarily, not even Dr. Kylie. In this case, the devil you know was way better. If my supposed best friend could do that to me, what would an outsider do? Probably worse. No one knows what would happen next, they could get a raunchy photo of me up the internet. “Good morning, Jasmine.” He greeted with his face away, like he was seriously battling with guilt. “Yeah.” I nodded and went over to my cubicle. “Look, Jasmine...”"Can we not talk about it?” I blurted out and dumped m
