Glen's POV

Warm and comfortable was what I was feeling, and the amazing tingles that I was experiencing made me feel so at ease and at peace.

When was the last time I had experienced such a feeling? It was in the past when my mother used to tuck me in bed, read me a good story, and then kiss me goodnight. That fulfilled my whole day and gave me hope to face tomorrow with a smile.

For the past few days, I have been going through a lot of stress, anger, and panic. That was the side of me that I hated and hid from everyone because I was afraid of what they might think of me.

My mother was of Alpha blood and a very wise businesswoman. All businessmen admired her greatly, and most companies fought to work with us before she retired. The image she invested in was what I was meant to continue. Living my own life felt useless because all I cared about was maintaining whatever things and image she started with. That's why I cared a lot about how I looked and what I did.

My greatest fear was, a

Edith's POV"This is nice," Lillian whispered, then took a sip from her juice glass."Right," I answered in a low tone. While she looked so happy and was glowing, I felt the very opposite."What's wrong?" she asked and then shifted on the couch, which was opposite mine.I quickly looked around the living room and then at the door to make sure no one was around or close by."A lot of things are," I answered."Like what?" she asked seriously."Like the fact that it's taking a lot of time for my mate to bed me. With my first mate, it never took this long. Also, he has been so busy these few days that we rarely see each other. Is Jace not giving you his time too?" I asked."Well, to be honest, it's actually the very opposite. He has been so clingy and can't seem to let me out of his sight for a long time. He also usually doesn't let me sleep in peace at night because we mostly end up doing it," she answered. She was so lucky that I felt envious."I see," I whispered softly."But just so y

Lillian's POVI felt nervous as I looked at myself in the mirror. When Edith gave me the dress last night, it was so beautiful that I immediately wanted to reject it. If it weren't for her nagging me to take it over and over again, I wouldn't have accepted it.It was stunning—an elegant, floor-length gown in a striking royal blue color, crafted from a smooth, glossy fabric. It showed all my curves and fit me perfectly. I was happy that it covered my arms because it was a long-sleeved dress with embellished cuffs, which I was dying to show Jace.“I love how its high neckline is adorned with intricate beadwork,” I said softly.“I love everything you are putting on, Luna,” Flora answered as I brushed my hand through my hair.My hair was fixed into a braided bun by Flora. She was so skilled that it looked like it had been done by professional hair stylists."I feel like there is something missing," I whispered softly."Here," she answered as she pulled a small box from her dress pocket an

Glen's POV"Alpha, a few important guests have arrived," Sophie whispered in my ear as I looked at Alpha Ian, who sat with his mate, Amelia, gazing at me coldly. Their Beta, Neo, refused to sit for some reason, and that was really a bad sign.Dominic and I felt so intimidated, not just by Ian but by his mate, who was a very well-known and respected Alpha Queen managing the biggest territories we knew of in their country. We had to pretend to be calm when we weren't."Is it the purebred vampire and her bond?" I asked, then tensed when Ian sat upright with a low groan."That purebred vampire has a damn name; it's Samantha. If that name seems so fucking long for you to use, then you may call her by her nickname, Felix," he said in what sounded like a warning."Of course, I meant to say Samantha," I answered quickly.“Sophie,” I called for her to tell me who it was."It's Alpha Whitney and her Beta mate, Leomord. They also came with the twin Deltas and their mate," she answered in a respe

Harley's POV"Please just do this once; do this for me," Molly pleaded in the changing room."You know he asked me to stay out of his sight. What happens if I come across him at the party?" I asked with concern."That won't happen because you will be cleaning the other side of the building. I would have done it myself if not for the appointment I have at the clinic," she answered softly."Don't," came Jade's warning."Next time, if you are picked to be among those cleaners attending the party, I will cover for you. Please help me out; this appointment is very important for me, and I can't afford to skip work because Sophie won't let it slide if she finds out," she pleaded.I was scared of losing my job as well. What would happen if I came across Glen at such an important event? Wouldn't he fire me after everyone had left?"Fine, I'll do it, but just so you know, you owe me big time," I answered seriously."Thank you so much," she said excitedly, and then hugged me as I hugged her back

Harley's POV"Remember my instructions: don't look the guests in the eyes, and you can't refuse their requests no matter what," she said when we were at the entrance door.We were both holding a tray of desserts I had never seen before. Their aroma was mouthwatering, and they looked very delicious. I had to avoid looking at them to fight the temptation to eat one."Let's go," she said after quickly checking my waitress outfit. When we walked in, I felt nervous and very amazed by how the hall was decorated. The guests were dressed in the most beautiful dresses, gowns, and suits. I felt so out of place and a little scared, even when they weren't looking at me."Keep calm and just walk around," I said to myself silently."Hey," a man behind me called softly.I quickly turned and faced the old, fat man who was richly dressed and smiling at me."Evening, sir," I greeted respectfully."I would like a taste of that dessert you are holding," he said, then looked at me intensely while licking

Jace's POVI stood in one of the living rooms, listening to Ian speak to Edith with utmost respect and admiration. I was astonished because the Ian I had met today and the one I had heard about in stories was brutal and very unfriendly in a serious way. But now, the Ian I was witnessing was nothing like that.He sat opposite her on a couch while his mate stood behind him.I stood opposite them with Harvey and Lillian, a little further away."If you don't mind me asking, Salfori, you run mines of rare gems, right? Not only that, you know all the secrets of the coven that can sell at a higher price. You are an immortal trillionaire who is secretive and tries to make sure only a few know about it. Am I right?" he asked as I raised a brow and looked at her in disbelief. What!Edith lived in a small cottage! At least that's what Harvey told me. How could she be that rich? Richer than me, Glen, or even Ian himself!I, too, was very wealthy, but I never passed on the opportunity to acquire

Glen's POVI couldn't drop my business smile even when I was feeling agitated, uneasy, and very uncomfortable. Dominic was also trying to reason with himself about whether to go and find that dumb cleaner or to continue with the fundraising party. We had never felt like this before, and it was really taking all of us to just keep our masks on."You," Alpha Ian called from behind me.I quickly turned and looked at him."As I said, I will overlook everything that happened today. Our kind got along with most supernatural beings, but never with those that breathe fire or drink blood, so be careful of who you bring around us," he said as I nodded."Of course, I'll be very careful from now on," I answered and then watched as he went to join his family. It was no secret that vampires were our mortal enemies. That's why our kind was very uncomfortable with them. Those who were usually invited to my parties were the most trusted ones, like Felix. She was a part of Ian's family, and what made

Glen's POV"I'm really sorry for what I said before. I was a jerk because I thought you were just a mere human. Please date me with the thought of marriage," I said to myself in my parked car while looking in the rearview mirror."No, that won't move her," I whispered and then smiled nicely."I have liked you for the longest time because you are my mate. What happened at the party today made me take your side because of how I feel towards you. I pray and hope you feel the same because if you don't, it will break my heart. All those harsh words I said to you were spoken out of fear and confusion," I said, then cursed at myself and looked at the bunch of roses that were on the seat next to mine."How do we make it work, Dominic?" I asked in a whisper. He, too, was in disbelief about what we had heard from Jace, but not very shocked."And why aren't you shocked?" I asked seriously."I had an idea she was not a mere human the time I took over at the office. What I didn't know was what she

Sky's POV"Brother, you shouldn't do this to yourself," Glen said softly in my office. He was leaning against the wall with his arms folded."Do what?" I asked while I read an email on my laptop."Have you looked at yourself in the mirror?" he asked."No," I answered simply."Then you should, brother; you don't look too well," he said sadly.Of course, I wasn't well, and that's because I had not slept in two days!I was very concerned and worried about how Riff was holding up. Yes, he was with his mate, but that didn't mean he was okay. At least that's what I thought. Also, I was wondering why his sister was quiet.Although she was in town, she must have heard the news. Was she crying somewhere, or did she now despise me?"I am very fine, Glen," I answered coldly."Did you even sleep?" he asked, making me sigh heavily."Where are you going with these questions?" I asked back.He shrugged and then kept quiet.I was about to tell him to leave if he had nothing more to say when the door

Sophie's POV "What do you think?" he asked as he walked into a cottage after unlocking the door with a key that was hidden beneath a rock close to the entrance.I huffed in my wolf form and then trotted in, ignoring the fact that he was walking nude confidently."Wait here," he said, and then walked into a room and came back dressed in a robe, with a spare one in his hand.He put the robe on the sofa and adjusted the one he was wearing."When we shifted back, we didn't look at each other like that," he said as he turned and faced the other side, giving me his back."Not that I didn't want to admire you; it's just that the situation we were in was... different," he said as I shifted back to my human form and took the robe from the sofa, putting it on."I have shifted a few times in front of different people, so even if you didn't turn, I would have been okay with it," I answered simply. He instantly turned back and glared at me."I'm kidding," I lied, then laughed nervously.Me shifti

Lorin's POV"Mother, do you think sending Sophie to follow Riff was a good idea?" Glen asked in a low tone.I was glad to see him in control but also a little sad that he was still uncomfortable around me."She is his mate, so she will make sure he feels calmer. If my guess is right, they won't be coming back today," I answered simply. It was obvious that Riff wouldn't come back in a day. He needed all the time he could get to think through everything before deciding to forgive or let go and heal."Jace wanted to come here, but Dominic stopped him," Glen said as I smiled at him."He did well," I answered and then looked at Clyde, who sat on a sofa with his legs crossed, looking at me with a smile. When we kissed a few hours ago, I had to pull back from the kiss despite not wanting to because it wasn't the right time or place.I was happy to have him welcome me when I took over, and now that I realized who was behind his change of heart, I really wanted us to make up and be together. • THE ALPHA'S REKINDLED BOND     Chapter 167

Riff's POVI couldn't stop dashing ahead, even when I had crossed the pack's border. My wolf was in pain, and not the pain that one would usually feel when things went bad. The pain I felt was from losing a father, a friend, and a guardian. It was so unbearable, and I wanted to be very far from the pack and the pack members that resided in it.I let out a loud growl of warning when I was tackled to the ground by a she-wolf with brutal force. I was about to get up when I was pinned down by the she-wolf's weight. She was strong, which was something I was certain of.When instantly tingles went throughout my body and an amazing scent I loved so much filled my nose, I knew right then who it was.I glanced at the wolf on top of me and let out a soft purr. It was Sophie in her wolf form.I was so distracted and angry that I didn't even notice her close by or following me.Her wolf was amazing and unlike anything I had ever seen. She was huge, and her coat was brown with black on top. Seeing

Clyde's POVI couldn't believe the sight in front of me, and the chill that went down my spine wasn't helping at all. When one of the warriors called Sky through the pack's mind link, we decided to stay behind, knowing how he could have handled it all. But this was not what I thought, expected, or imagined would happen!"Son, what have you done?" I asked powerlessly. His hands were covered in blood, and Marshall lay in a pool of his own blood, dead.A loud female scream made me turn instantly. It was Berta, standing next to Riff, who looked pale and in shock. They were behind me when I chose to rush here after getting an uneasy feeling."Anyone call a healer, please!" she screamed at the top of her voice as she ran forward, kneeling next to Marshall and holding his hands.“Marshall, Marshall,” she sobbed as I stood frozen in one place. It was obvious he was already dead. Even if we called a healer, there was nothing he or she could do about it."Clyde, his hands are cold," she sobbed

Sky's POV I was surprised by the warrior's panicked voice that came through the mind-link, telling me to come out of the pack house as it was urgent.I thought about how the pack could be under attack, but that seemed rather unlikely because I could detect any intrusion at my own pack's border."Please, Alpha, hurry," the warrior mind-linked me.I lazily got up and went outside of the pack house, brushing my hand through my hair. I could hear yells and loud screams coming from the training field."Obviously, it's our warriors fighting again," I whispered to my wolf."It has been a long time since such a thing happened," he said.Well, he was right, but if it wasn't a fight, then what was happening? Something was definitely wrong because this was the first time I was hearing such an uproar the closer I got.I quickly picked up my pace and rushed there. When I reached the training field, I was shocked to see Glen hitting Beta Marshall with his back towards me.Marshall was trying to b

Jace's POV "What the fuck did you just say to me?" I asked at the top of my voice."It is as I said, Alpha," Harvey answered and then looked at Edith, who had her gaze lowered to the floor."No way, that's impossible," I whispered in disbelief.Betas were usually so loyal to their Alphas. Hearing of a Beta that would go so far as to harm his own Luna or Alpha was unheard of in my years of being an Alpha. It was next to impossible."No, that can't be right," I muttered."I wish it were impossible, but that wasn't the case. He called me out to do him that wicked favor," Edith spoke up as I felt a shiver go throughout my body."I am so shocked, to be honest, and I feel very upset over this. Beta Marshall was who Aunt Berta looked up to, according to my late parents," I said seriously."He is kind and good; that's what I know. I can't believe he could be this wicked!" I said loudly."Alpha, I don't know what you will do, but I told you this because I want you to know the truth before it

Harvey's POVThe pack was still happily celebrating the news of our Luna being pregnant. But I noticed one thing I wanted to pretend not to notice, and that was how Edith looked. My mate appeared bothered and unhappy. As much as she smiled and laughed, I knew it was all a front she was putting on.I didn't want to ask or force her to tell me what was bothering her. I wanted her to open up to me on her own. I wanted her to completely rely on me as her partner and mate."What can be a perfect gift to give Lillian?" she asked in our bedroom. She was looking at a few pieces of jewelry on the bed that she had bought yesterday."Is jewelry lame? Should I give her an expensive car or mansion?" she asked softly.I moved closer, standing behind her. Before she could turn to look at me, I wrapped my arms around her waist."Lillian isn't one who is drawn to jewelry and expensive things. Just you wishing her well and giving her a simple gift would be enough," I answered honestly. She sighed heavi

Marshall's POV Sickening. What was happening in front of me was very sickening. After that talk with that stupid witch, I had to stay home for a few days, thinking about my next move.I couldn't believe how she had walked out on me and said such terrible words to me!Who exactly did she think I was? I was the best Beta there was in all werewolf territories! Not only that, I loved Berta with all my heart, yet she made it sound like I was obsessed with her when I wasn't.I loved her more than life itself!I looked at Berta, then at Clyde, who was talking further ahead with a low sigh. They were both smiling, and that, to me, was a very bad scene to witness. Not only that, it made my stomach churn."I feel very upset," I whispered silently to my wolf."We can't let the witch or Clyde get to us," he growled."You are right; they shouldn't get to us. No, they can't get to us. Just because she has refused to help us doesn't mean we should give up, and just because Clyde is smiling at her
