Lillian's POV

I quickly grabbed the bottles I needed and then rushed back to his room.

When I entered, I found him looking out the window with his back towards me.

I felt horrible just looking at him; sadly, I couldn't say it. I felt sad whenever he was sad, even without having his mark. That's why I was doing my best to cheer him up.

I moved to the bedside table and put the bottles there, then went to him and wrapped my arms around his waist while resting my head against his back.

I wanted him to feel my warmth and the beautiful tingles that spread between us whenever we touched because I knew how they did wonders. Not only did they give me comfort whenever I felt low, they made me at ease. There was this unexplainable peace about them.

"I like this kind of comfort better than the liquor he asked you to bring," he spoke.

"Ridge," I called and then raised my head.

"Yes, it's me," he answered softly and then turned and faced me.

"Jace?" I asked, concerned.

Was he hurting so much that h

Paul's POVI dashed into the forest, tracking down Leah's scent carefully. My wolf was no longer talking to me because he was hurt more than I was. I broke down when Jace banished me because he was like a brother to me, and being separated from them felt like I had lost something very valuable. The only thing that I held on to and that gave me strength was knowing that I could finally be with the love of my life. For her, I would do anything, and with her by my side, I could have it all. After all, everything was planned out in my mind. After finding Leah, I was going to go with her to human territory because it was the only safe territory unclaimed by our kind or an enemy. Then I was going to look for a job, which was easy to get because Jace had a very rich Alpha cousin who we visited a few times. That Alpha knew me well, as he did Talic and Light, so he definitely was going to help me. After getting a job, I was going to rent an apartment with her and work hard to get her everythin

Sol's POVSomething was wrong; I could feel it by instinct.I looked at my mate and smiled softly. She was busy playing with the pups in the living room happily, and everything seemed to go back in place. It's as if nothing had happened that day we almost argued."Alpha, we seem to have a problem," Joan mind-linked me."Where are you?" I asked through our mind-link."The pack's border," he responded."I'll be right there," I answered and then got up from the couch I was sitting on."My heart, I'll be back after a few minutes. There is something I have to check at the border," I said softly. She smiled and then nodded. I was about to leave when she cleared her throat."Ah, sorry. I almost forgot," I whispered then went to her and kissed her cheek lightly."I'll be back," I said, then turned and walked out of the room."It better be important, Joan," I said after I had gone out of the pack house and got into my car."Sir, it's very important. Lillian's POV"Pathetic," I muttered to myself as I picked up a dirty plate from the table and carefully put it in the sink, which was next to it.Brenda and her silly friend Sylvia were at it again, gossiping about our Alpha. It was tiring to hear them, yet I still couldn't stop myself from listening to their conversation."How on earth does he still look like he is in his twenties?" Brenda asked in a whisper."I know, right! Gosh, he doesn't age at all! He's in his late thirties, yet he still looks like a hunky teenager. Is that what it means to be an Alpha?" Sylvia answered as I rolled my eyes in annoyance.Luckily, they couldn't see me because I had my back towards them, but that didn't mean I liked how they were talking about him.And who was dumb enough to think that our Alpha wasn't aging because of his rank? It was clear that it was because of what we were!Werewolves were different from humans in most ways. Not only did we age slowly, we had heightened abilities and impressiv

Lillian's POV"It's all going to be fine," I whispered to myself, then coughed and sniffed, ignoring the scent of my blood in the little dark room I was locked in.My face was badly bruised, and I couldn't see properly on one side of my eyes, which was hurting. My wolf was silent, and all I could do was comfort the two of us with empty words. My mate had hit us again, and it came as no surprise. He did it most of the time, even when he wanted to take out his frustration on me whenever he argued with his lover. He called me to his room and then just began hitting me. Never was there a day he looked at me lovingly or talked to me tenderly.Did he have a wolf? Definitely, and they both hated us."I don't think we will be in here for long; they need us," I said softly to myself, then chuckled. No one was as good as I was with chores, so no matter what, they were going to call me. Only two days had passed, so I was sure that pretty soon they were going to call me."Beautiful day, yet again

Lillian's POV:I stood at the far end corner of the hall that was lavishly decorated. Everyone was busy chatting while some were eating and drinking happily.I was the only one who stood alone and looked out of place. I couldn't keep my gaze up for more than a few minutes because I didn't want to be accused of something or threatened by another pack member.Although whenever I looked up, I stole a few glances at the Alpha who stood in front of us whispering sweet words into Leah's ear while she blushed. The party had begun, at least that's what I thought, yet they weren't saying anything and half an hour had gone by of us witnessing their flirting.Leah wore a beautiful blue strapless short dress that matched her heels. Her hair was straightened like silk that fell perfectly to her back. Her face was covered in beautiful makeup and red lipstick.Whenever she laughed, she raised her hand to cover her mouth, showing off a diamond ring that the Alpha had gifted her not so long ago on her

Harvey's POVWe stood laughing so hard after shifting into our human form.We all watched with interest as she faked her inability to swim."She sure knows how to fake it, she is a drama queen," Paul said then sighed heavily."Anyway, it was all for fun, Paul, but the Alpha gave us only an hour. I'm sure by now he must have already gone back to the hall. Let's leave the Omega; she will soon join us," I said seriously."You are right, Beta. Warriors, you go ahead and prepare some clothes for us; we will be right there," Paul instructed."Yes, Gamma," they answered together and then shifted into their wolf form and dashed away."Was it worth torturing the poor Omega?" I asked playfully."You know that you love it, Harvey, after all, she was a pain to look at," he answered as I laughed softly. He knew me a little too well.We both couldn't stand the fat Omega bitch. Not because she was fat and weak, but because someone as unworthy as her was mated to our Alpha, who was the very definitio

Jace's POV"What is it? Talk to me, please," I pleaded with my wolf while trying so hard to breathe.Hours had gone by, and he couldn't stop howling in pain. I, too, was in pain physically; I felt like my heart was being slightly squeezed, and my body was trembling.Whiskey mixed with a dose of wolfsbane couldn't work, no matter how I overdosed, because I threw up instantly before I could even swallow the content. My eyes were hurting from the tears that were running down, and my head was aching.I could hear the sound of birds chirping and a few voices outside. It was already morning, and in just a few hours, my Beta was going to come here to check up on me.I needed to force myself on my feet because I never wanted to show anyone my weak side.I groaned in pain as I got to my feet from the ground and moved to the bathroom naked, stumbling a bit. I approached the shower and quickly turned it on. As water began pouring on me, I moved my hand to my aching head."Ridge, please talk to m

Harvey's POVI wasn't a fool not to notice how the Alpha was struggling to concentrate. He looked very agitated and made a lot of mistakes with the pack files he was handling. He actually looked like he was in pain and trying so hard not to show it, and it was all because of that Omega.A few hours had gone by, and she was not yet back. I felt very guilty, and fear was filling my heart. If he could act like this when she wasn't around, how would he act seeing her drenched in water and shivering? Yes, he didn't care about her a few days ago, but right now, it looked like he did."Harvey, is there a problem?" Paul asked softly behind me.I turned and looked at him seriously, then at the few warriors who were standing beside him."That Omega we used as bait yesterday hasn't been seen for hours, and the Alpha looks irritated. I might be wrong, but he seems like a man in love, desperately waiting for his lover," I replied."Are you kidding me? He doesn't care about that bitch," he spat."I

Jace's POVI looked at Lillian once more, who was sleeping peacefully on the bed, before stepping out and going to my office. For hours, she tried to cheer me up by talking a lot, yet I couldn't smile or laugh genuinely because I felt so betrayed and hurt. When we noticed how late it was, I wanted to leave, but she invited me to share her bed, which I agreed to even when I knew that I wasn't going to do it. I wanted to settle everything once and for all."I hope you are already there," I mind-linked Harvey as I walked through the passage."Yes, Alpha," he answered. When I reached the office and touched the door handle, I took in a deep breath, released it, and then walked in.Harvey and Light were standing on each side of Paul, who had his head lowered.I closed the door behind me and walked to where they were standing in front."Paul," I called as he tensed."Look up," I said as he slowly did.He had a red bruise on his eye, and his lip was slightly busted.I looked at Harvey, who qu

Lillian's POVI was woken up by a loud growl, a warning. I slowly sat upright, yawned, and blinked a few times to clear my vision."Get up," Maila growled at me. I frowned, then moved to the edge of the bed and got up.When I heard a loud whimper, I rushed to the door. Immediately, I pulled it open, and Flora came running to my side."It's the Alpha who is very upset, Luna. I'm afraid he will hurt the Beta and Delta who are holding him back. I don't know what happened because all I did was serve tea. But then Paul walked in, and everything changed for the worst," Flora said in a cracked voice. She had a terrified expression on her face, and she was sweating.I quickly rushed to his office following his scent. When I walked in, my eyes instantly went to Paul, who was kneeling on the ground with a bleeding nose. His hair was ruffled, and his shirt was badly torn.I shifted my gaze to Ridge, who was standing still, yet looking at Paul as if he would rip him in half.Talic and Light were

Paul's POVPardon? What pardon was he even talking about when it was clear how he wanted her dead! He had no remorse, and neither one of them felt pity for her.How could Jace change just like that in a short time? How could he allow Ridge to act as he saw fit?Leah was the apple of his eyes, and everyone knew that. Hell, all warriors, including myself, envied his position because of her.Ever since I set my eyes on Leah, I saw a goddess in her place. She was my goddess in the flesh and in living. Her smile was light to my soul, and her words were absolute. My loyalty was towards her, but to my wolf, his loyalty was towards our Alpha. That's why I had to bend to his will and just submit. Miss Leah was so kind that she even spoke to the scum of the pack and took care of the others despite her being above them all.She even blessed me when she chose me as her first partner in sex. Then she was experiencing her first heat, and I was the only one beside her. The Alpha was right in his off

Sol's POVI groaned softly when I sat upright at the edge of the bed, feeling restless."Shit, not again," I whispered to myself. For days now, all I could think about was my mate. I knew it was wrong; that's why I felt so much guilt towards my beautiful wife who was always by my side. She had my back when no one else did and held my hand when I had nothing."Ήλιε μου," Amara called softly behind me.I glanced back and smiled at her before fully turning to face her.She was lying down, smiling warmly at me.She still looked gorgeous even after a few years of struggles had passed us."My sun, is something the matter?" She asked, this time stopping herself from calling me in Greek.I smiled widely and then moved, laying beside her."My heart," I whispered softly as I moved my hand and caressed her face. How was I going to tell her everything when I was scared of hurting her?I lowered my eyes, trying so hard not to look into her beautiful deep hazel eyes."ílie mou," she called softly.

Lillian's POV"You know you don't have to do that," Jace said softly in my room.I looked at him, then sighed. Since yesterday, he looked low and sad for some reason. Was it because we went to see Leah? When Ridge took over and we got to spend some time together, I felt very happy. When he left for his office, I thought everything was going well, but then the next day Jace came to greet me and he seemed rather unhappy."I know, but I absolutely want to," I answered with a smile.I wanted to do something to cheer him up, so when Flora came to ask me for help in looking after a few orphan pups who were going through a hard time, I agreed without a second thought."Won't that tire you quickly?" He asked.I sighed loudly and then turned to face him.He was sitting on the bed with his legs crossed and his arms folded."I know that you are concerned for me, but believe me when I say I'm really okay with helping out. Moreover, I love pups a lot and when I was growing up, I couldn't help but

Jace growled, then tightened his grip on my hair as I screamed out in pain. The side of my cheek was hurting badly from the brutal hit I had received, and blood was rolling down from my nose."Jace baby, it's me," I cried out, blinking back the tears that blurred my vision.I let out a broken gasp when he grabbed my chin hard, hurting me even more."I said I would let you live for your parents' sake, and heck, I even promised myself not to be violent in front of Lillian. So why the fuck did you have to tell her that? Do you take pleasure in hurting her? She has already been through hell because of us both!" He exclaimed and then let go of my cheek and moved his hand to cover his face.I was in shock at how he was treating me harshly over that trash."You are pathetic," Lucia whispered when she pulled through."What?" He asked in disbelief when he dropped his hand."You are such a pathetic Alpha. Are you that bli
