Glen's POV

"Mother, where should I put your roses?" I asked softly in the living room as soon as we walked in.

"Oh, those? Put them in the vase that is on the dining counter," she answered simply.

"Okay," I said, and then walked to the dining room.

Since our heart-to-heart talk, I decided to stay with her for a few days. It wasn't only for our bonding but also for my self-healing and hopefully hers as well.

She was so kind and very attentive to me that I felt very happy. I wished to stay with her for a few more years if she would let me; sadly, I had a lot of work to do at the company, and her place was further away from it than my own.

"Do I look like a mess?" she asked with a warm smile after I had done what she had asked me to and returned to the living room.

"No, not at all," I lied.

Her gardening clothes were a mess, and her hair was a little scruffy.

"Son, you are a terrible liar," she said, then laughed softly while she took off her gardening gloves.

I, too, was in gardening c

Jace's POV We all moved closer after Sky had calmed down. This time around, he showed surrender rather than resistance, even when she took his hand and began walking to the entrance of the house.Glen walked in first, looking very upset. As for us, we had no idea what to do. We all looked at each other and then decided to just follow them inside. When we stepped in, I noticed how the place wasn't only well-kept but also had amazing decorations. She was obviously richer than in the past; that's why her companies were among the best of the best."Please sit, all of you," she said softly when we walked into the living room.Glen sat on her left side when she sat down, but Sky remained standing. When she tagged his hand, he sighed heavily and then sat down.We all sat down and looked at them in silence. We didn't want to intervene or disturb their reunion; that's why we decided to stay back when Sky approached the place. We were so shocked at how Sky took down the gate and almost beat

Sky's POV"Why did you and Berta abandon me?" I asked seriously. She looked at me in silence and then frowned."I wrecked my brain thinking about whether you loved me or not. Maybe you were forced to submit by Dad," I said sadly."Alpha Clyde and his wolf were always amazing leaders and mates to us," she answered, surprising me.“Really?” I asked seriously."When Berta and I found out that the Alpha we had always liked was our mate, we were over the moon and couldn't wait to stand by his side because, to us, it was like a miracle given by the moon goddess. Status meant nothing to us because even if he wasn't an Alpha, we would still have chosen to stand by his side," she said and then smiled."He truly was an excellent mate who showered us with praise and respected us. The only flaw he had was that he wanted perfection, be it in how he acted or carried himself. So imagine the shock he had when we gave birth to twins and one of them turned out to be a very weak pup," she said as looked

Glen's POV I walked to where my car was parked and got in, tears running down my cheeks. I shut the door and covered my face with my hands, crying.I realized he didn't like me much by the way he talked to me, but I had no idea he wanted me dead. What was worse was how I perceived Lorin. I thought she hated me, and I even showed her that I didn't want her in control at times, when she loved me as much as Berta did.She chose me over her wonderful life and suffered on my behalf. My heart was aching badly, and I felt like I would jump off a damn bridge and die."Us dying would only hurt our family members," Dominic whispered. He was hurting terribly too, and he had no idea how to comfort us.When I picked up Harley's scent, I dropped my hands.A knock on the car window made me turn and look at her."I won't take it anymore if you say anything terrible to me, so please leave me alone. My mind and stability are hanging by a thread," I said loudly. When she knocked again, I slowly opened

Sky's POVI sat in the dining room, sipping a glass of whiskey while the Delta I had hit stood close to the door entrance, his gaze lowered to the floor. After the conversation, I made it clear that I wanted a glass of whiskey, and my mother had him serve me. She then excused herself and went upstairs.Although the Delta still looked terrified of me, he wouldn't leave the dining room. I had no idea if he was courageous or just very loyal to my mother. Either way, I didn't like him very much."I actually preferred Jace over him by far."Jace... my cousin. He was still in the living room talking to the others while Glen had yet to return with my mate."I feel so fucking upset," I said softly to my wolf.“I understand," he answered.I sighed heavily and then looked at the Delta."Why are you still here?" I asked seriously."I was ordered to serve you by our Luna," he answered in a respectful tone and then looked up."You call her Luna as if she still has a pack to lead," I mocked."Well,

Glen's POV I stood at the door nervously, carefully considering whether to knock on my mother's door or not."Here goes nothing," I whispered, then raised my hand to knock when the door opened.I sighed in relief when I saw that Berta was in control."Mother," I whispered, then moved to embrace her."I'm glad to see that it's you in control," I said honestly, then pulled back."Did you come to say goodbye?" she asked softly."Yes," I answered seriously."Okay," she whispered, then grabbed my hand."Let's go downstairs together," she said.I smiled and nodded. We walked downstairs and into the living room, where everyone was. When they looked at us, Jace and Sky immediately stood up."You aren't sleeping over, are you?" she asked seriously while looking at Sky."No, I am not. I have decided to go back with Jace," he answered."I see," she whispered and then looked at Lillian and Harley."You are welcome to visit me anytime you feel like. This is your home as much as it is theirs," she

Harley's POV I sat between Sky and Glen in silence while Jace, who was driving, sat next to Lillian.I had no idea why Glen was going with us. All I knew was that something wasn't right, and I felt somewhat uncomfortable. As much as I wanted him to be happy, I didn't want him to anger Sky in any way or make him sad. When I looked at Glen, I noticed how he was facing the window with one of his hands pressed against it.He hadn't said a word since we started off, and he seemed to want to be left alone. When I shifted my gaze to Sky, he instantly smiled at me."Are you okay, babe?" he asked in a low tone."Yes, but is it okay to have Jace drive us?" I asked with concern."Of course, he is our cousin, and by the way, my Beta chose to bail on me," he answered.I moved my hand on his thighs and gently rubbed there."I'm sure he will return soon. Also, you have me by your side," I said softly."Of course," he answered and then leaned in and kissed my forehead. When he pulled back, he looked

Sophie's POV I knocked on Mrs. Brown's door twice and waited patiently for the Delta to open it.When Glen called me and said that I should take care of his important guest, I quickly began to organize the best room, food, and a few things for our guest. If he was important to Glen, then he was also important to me. That's why I was going to do my very best to make the guest happy and comfortable. After all, I was Glen's Beta, and part of my job was to assist and follow my Alpha's orders.I was about to knock again when I stopped myself. My wolf began yelping in joy, and shortly, the scent of our mate filled my nose."No, there is no way he could be here," I said to myself and then chuckled. It was so obvious that I was missing him; that's why I was beginning to imagine things. When the door opened and he looked down at me, I felt like my heart could stop. His hair was wet, his shirt partially unbuttoned ,and though his trousers were zipped the button at the top was undone. Molly's POV I sat looking at the door calmly. As soon as I was dropped off at home by the butler, I went on to book a flight ticket. If I wanted to truly be happy and be with Paul, then I had to end things with Victor.Ending things over the phone seemed rather childish and unreasonable. That's why meeting him was the only choice I could think of, but first, I needed to talk to my parents. When I heard a knock at the door, I quickly got to my feet and went to open it."Hey, daughter," Dad greeted."Hi, Dad," I answered and then hugged him. When I pulled back, I looked at my mother, who had a wide smile on her face."I missed you," she whispered."Oh, Mother, I missed you too," I whispered back and then hugged her.My parents' place was pretty close to where I stayed; that's why whenever I invited them over, they came on time.I pulled back and smiled."Please come on in," I said as I took a few steps back for them to enter. After they did, I closed the door behind them."It's been a

Sky's POV"Alpha Ian and his family have arrived," Riff announced through the pack's mind-link."Okay," I answered from my office, still using the mind-link, and then slowly stood up.When I felt their presence at the pack's border, I quickly sent Riff to welcome them and show them to the pack. Then, I went on to inform Glen about their arrival.I also felt that Jace needed to know they were here, which is why I rushed to my office to make a call."Alpha, they are in the living room," Riff mind-linked me."I'm coming," I answered and then quickly walked out. When I entered the living room, I found everyone seated except for Alpha Ian and Glen, who were both looking at Sonya."Alpha Ian, welcome," I said nervously. He looked at me with a raised brow, then at Glen."He looks exactly like you; it sucks," he muttered."That's because he is my identical twin brother," Glen answered simply."Gosh, I couldn't want even my worst enemy to share his exact face with another, be it blood or not,"

Glen's POV I looked at Sky, who was typing something on his laptop in the pack's office, then folded my arms with a low sigh."What is it?" he asked without looking at me."Don't you think you are rushing things? Just because the Queen of Dragons said that to you, it doesn't make you obliged to go through with it. Harley and I can wait until the right time to have the ceremony, brother," I answered seriously."That's the thing: no one can force me to do what I feel or think is wrong. What Harley's mother said was right, and I want to do it while she's still in our pack," he said calmly and then looked at me."Our mate acted cold towards her mother, but we all could see it in her words how she still longed for her. Her being made Luna with part of her family witnessing it would make her and us happy, wouldn't it?" he asked as I dropped my hands and nodded. When she asked her mother if she was leaving, her voice indeed held longing, and it surprised me. But at the same time, I understo

Sonya's POV"Come on, just this once," I pleaded softly.Harley looked at me coldly and then sighed heavily."Can't you call me 'mother' just this once, please?" I said loudly and then looked at her mates, who were both staring at me in silence.I could tell what they were thinking without them saying a word. The first thing I saw in their expressions was the question: how dare you invite yourself into our pack house and living room? The second question was: how could you ask that of her when you clearly abandoned her?And the last question was: how the hell are you able to keep such a funny demeanor when things are far worse and serious? How could you leave your warriors outside the pack house and freely joke with our mate?"I know you want to say something to me; please do, because I promise I won't be upset," I said seriously to them. The twins looked at each other and then looked back at me."Ma'am, are you going to take Harley away from us?" one Alpha asked."Before I answer, may

Sky's POV "You have to eat something," I whispered in concern as I rubbed Harley's back gently. She was lying down on her bed in silence while I sat next to her. Glen stood next to us with a sad expression on his face. Ever since Corinne left our pack, two days had gone by, but Harley refused to eat or talk much to any of us.I was very concerned that I had to put the pack's work on hold."Perhaps we should call Berta—I mean Mom and Dad—and inform them about everything," Glen insisted seriously.I quickly got up and cursed loudly."What now?" he asked at the top of his voice."We have an intruder," I answered coldly."Riff, we have an intruder," I said loudly as I walked out of the pack house.I sighed heavily when I looked at Corinne, who was standing with her hand pressed on her hip."You again," I said softly, then glanced at Riff and Sophie, who were rushing towards me."Tell the warriors to stand by," I mind-linked Riff and then focused on Corinne."Did you seriously think I wa

Corinne's POV "Why aren't you asking me more questions?" I asked Harley seriously.A few minutes had gone by, and she was looking at me with hate and anger."Let's go inside," she said coldly, then turned and went into a huge mansion I assumed was the pack house."You heard her," I whispered, then followed her inside.I paid no mind to the wall interior because my eyes were fixed on how she walked. Even her movements were exactly like my sister's. If my sister were any younger, she could have passed as her identical twin.I made a turn and walked into the living room, where she pointed at a sofa."Thanks," I said simply, then took a seat.We both glanced at the door when the two Alphas and Betas walked in."Now that everyone is here, I won't hold back on what I'm about to say and ask," Harley announced seriously."Of course," I whispered.Ever since we received the call about Harley being alive and possibly well, my sister wasted no time in sending me to meet her. Before I traveled,

Harley's POV I knew my mates were acting differently but I ignored them. At least I tried to because I thought they were doing that to spite me due to how I had kept my feelings to myself. It was wrong of me but I felt like they were doing a little revenge of their own, which I choose to really not pay much attention to until from nowhere Sophie and Glen barged into my room.It was very startling but they gave a few excuses of how they had thought they had heard a sudden noise from my room.At first I didn't think much about the situation and told them they just had been mistaken. But some minutes went by with them talking a lot, as if they were trying to keep me in the dark over something. That's why I asked Sophie if something was going on, but she brushed it off and told me to ignore any noise because the warriors were training in front of the pack house. Her excuse made no sense that's why I turned to Glen and asked him if he was keeping something from me.He hesitated but gave i

Sky's POV "Do you think we are acting weird?" I asked Riff, who stood in my office with his arms crossed."Is that why you rushed me to your office?" he asked lazily."Are you still upset with me?" I asked back seriously from behind my desk.He shook his head and then dropped his hands."I came running because of the tone of your voice. I thought something bad had happened to you. I was so worried about you, not upset," he answered simply."Well, Harley has been looking at me and Glen coldly these past few days. We... I mean Glen and I decided to keep the news of her parents coming to our pack a secret, just in case they come looking for blood or end up not being her real parents," I said seriously."Well, what do you expect me to say, Alpha? She is a sharp lady who can easily tell if something is going on. Perhaps you should come clean and tell her the truth. After all, you look uncomfortable not telling her, so it might do you good to come clean," he advised.I stood up and brushed

Glen's POV"Any luck?" Sky asked seriously in my bedroom."It will take a few more days, brother. I have already contacted a few investors and friends who might know about the information that we need," I answered and then took a seat on my bed."I also contacted Ian. He might be intimidating and cold, but because of Jace, he might help us. I heard he is friends with Alpha Damon, whose pack is known as the library of all information," I said."Yeah, I have also heard about him. You did good," he answered.Yesterday, we did everything in our power to make our mate feel better. We called Molly and asked her to invite everyone because we wanted to chat with them all. The chat went well, and after she disconnected the call, Harley still looked a little sad.I knew I had to get to work immediately, so I started calling people who could help. For hours, I was locked up in my office, where I only had a few hours of rest.Sky was with her most of the time, and that was a relief because it see

Harley's POVI was surprised by the sudden news and departure of Clyde and Berta. But because of how happy they looked, I was okay with it."Now that they are gone, that leaves only two of us women in the pack house," Sophie said with a smile."I have never seen you this happy, manager... oh, I mean Sophie. Sorry, it's out of habit calling you that," I said seriously."It's fine, Luna," she answered as I frowned."You know, I might have been your superior at work in human territory. But here, you are my leader," she said and then took a few steps forward."Forgive me for asking you this, but are you alright?" she asked as I smiled and nodded."You look a bit absent-minded," she said and then grabbed my hands."We started off on the wrong track, but now we are friends, right? So if there is anything that is bothering you, you can confide in me," she said seriously.I kept quiet for a few minutes, then decided to open up to her.How does it feel to have parents?"
