Chapter Twenty Four

“What's going on? You seem a bit frantic.” Cain entered the room, and approached me. I shook my head, and mittered, “Oh, nothing, Cain. Just misplaced something, no big deal.” he raised his eyebrows, and nodded.

He walked to the wardrobe and went to grab his gym clothes. He mumbled softly, If you need help finding something, let me know. I'll be in the gym.” I forced a smile, as I watched Cain left the room.

I resumed searching for the tracker, but I couldn't still find it. I opened and closed the drawers, but there was still no sight of this device. I clenched my fists and bit my lower lips.

Hours passed and my desperation grew more as the weight of my actions bore down on me. I finally gave up on the search, I sank into the bed as I tried to steady my racing thoughts. Cain entered the room, I think he forgot something.

He sensed my worthiness, and asked, “Still can't find it?”I forced a smile and said in a casual tone, “ It's Nothing important, Cain. Just a misplaced item.”
