Chapter Twenty Eight

Samantha~

I woke up the next morning and groaned, “Ugh, my head…” The morning sun painted the room through the curtains. My eyes squinted against the intrusive sunlight and I had a dull ache in my head. I suddenly remembered the events from last night, how I drank away my sorrow with a stranger. The worst thing I have ever done in my entire life.

I looked beside me and saw Adrian already awake. He muttered, “Morning, sleepy head.” I smiled weakly and said, “Morning. What happened last night?” He stood up and said, “You came home a bit… unsteady. I took care of you.” My eyes widened as I thought of how I would have messed up the whole place.

“Babe, about that guy at the bar…” he interrupted me and cupped my face in his hands. He said, “We can talk about it, but first, let's get you some water and breakfast.” He rushed out of the room and went to the kitchen downstairs. After some minutes, he came back with a tray in his hand.
