CHAPTER 3

THE REJECTION

The stress Alpha Kane had regarding rejecting Ava outdid the pleasure he was feeling and therefore he pushed her aside interrupting the hot sex the two of them were having. 

Ava barely believed that this was actually happening. 

She tried going back in but Alpha Kane told her to stop. 

Alpha Kane started dressing up and Ava did not have a choice but to follow suit. 

Ava was confused and furious. Alpha Kane had never rejected her during sex. They always did the deed until both of them achieved their highs.

When Alpha Kane noticed  that Ava's eyes narrowed in furry, he quickly apologized. 

" I am really sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel bad," He said. 

"I am sick and tired of your cold nature today. It feels like you are not here with me. I want the truth from you. What is bothering you?" Ava asked as he maintained eye contact with him and Alpha Kane knew that this was the best time to tell the truth. 

"I am worried about tomorrow. " Alpha Kane opened his heart to her. 

"Why?" Ava could not understand why choosing her was difficult yet they had been seeing each other secretly for three years now. 

"I really don't know," Alpha Kane once again found it difficult to tell her the truth. 

"If it is my love towards you then let me tell you what I feel for you. Let me assure you," Ava said. 

"It is not about…" Alpha Kane started talking but Ava interrupted. 

"I know that you are not going to admit that you are insecure of my love towards you. I told you that I rejected Beta Ian's advances. I feel nothing towards him. Besides, he was also seeing my sister when he approached me. He does not mean anything to me. He is a piece of shit for that matter. He thought that I would be cheap to heed to his advances but I am better than that. You are the only person who makes my world go round. 

I love you Alpha Kane. My muscular strong Alpha. The commander of the Midnight pack army. 

My sweet honey, everything is perfect when I am with you. You are my first boyfriend, my love, I want to make you my last. I accept everything when you are with me because I know that I love you and no one in the world can replace you.

Some say love is a feeling, some say love is a dream, but for me love is you. You bring happiness in my world and you share my pain with your heart, you make me perfect. Without you, I am nothing. I love you.

Love makes everything beautiful as I am in love with you, I can feel the beautiful sunset with you, I can paint my life with the colors of the rainbow, I can feel the lovely breeze floating over a blossom. Everything seems more than perfect when you find your partner, just like me.

I love you because you never let me alone, not for a single moment. Sometimes physical distances hide you from me, but no matter how far you are, I can feel it in my heart. Being together and forever.

Actually I am telling you all this from my heart as I ask you to make me your Luna. I will be by your side as we rule over our pack. I might not be a warrior, you know how I hate it, but I can help you calm down after a long day of work. 

Choosing me should not be difficult, kindly remember the first time we made love. My strong Alpha Kane, I want your smile, a place in your heart and I don’t want anything else. Your smile makes me always happy and in your heart, I always stay close to you. I love you." Ava told him all this from the bottom of her heart and Alpha Kane knew that he had to tell her the truth. 

The pack needed a warrior Luna, not someone to calm him after a long day of work. 

Alpha Kane's facial expression changed to a frown and Ava did not know what to make of it.

She smelt a rat.

"I really don't know how you are going to take this but I suggest that you remain calm," Alpha Kane told Ava. 

"Stop saying this, you are scaring me," Ava said as she fidgeted to calm her nerves. Her face was suddenly drained and she could feel a swarm of butterflies dancing in her stomach. 

"I love you, you know that, right?" Alpha Kane tried his best to make his voice remain calm. 

"Yes, I know that you love me. Please tell me what the issue is. You are scaring me," Ava grunted. 

"I am sorry but I am rejecting you as my lover,"Alpha Kane felt his insides curve when he said this to Ava. 

Ava shook her head in disagreement. This is impossible. There is no possible way that Alpha Kane can reject her. 

The two of them had been dating for three years now. He can never reject her. 

"You are joking, right?" Ava asked as she forced a smile. Her heart had started beating at twice its normal speed and she could feel sweat trickling from under her arms. 

"Sit," Alpha Kane carried her and made her sit on his lap. 

"I am doing this for the pack. I have to do everything for the pack because I owe them revenge against Jezebel. I am the Alpha and they need me. I hope that you will understand," Alpha Kane said this to Ava and she could see tears forming at the slit ends of her eyes. 

"No, you cannot do this to me," Ava said in a shaky voice. 

"You are a very understanding person, my love. Please understand that the pack needs me. '' Alpha Kane begged Ava as tears started trickling down from her eyes like water from a faulty tap. 

"No. You cannot do this to me. Not after everything that I have given up for you. No, you can't reject me," Ava said and Alpha Kane felt a surge of anger in his system. 

He pushed her and unfortunately Ava fell on the cold grass. Alpha Kane was huffing and puffing in anger because Ava was not listening to him. She was disrespecting him yet he was the Alpha of the pack. 

"I am the Alpha of the Midnight Pack and I reject you as my lover. You are ugly, you are weak and I don't want you to be the Luna of Midnight Pack," Alpha Kane was literally breathing fire as he said this. 

Ava couldn't hold back. She broke down as Alpha Kane walked away from her. He was done with her. Beta Ian was right. She was just a weak girl who could barely avenge what was taken from them. 

Ava could not believe that Alpha Kane could hurt him to this extent. She sobbed uncontrollably like the day she sobbed when her parents were killed. 

Her insides still felt raw as if winter wind was blowing right through her skin. The nausea swirled unrestrained in her empty stomach. Her head swam with half-formed regrets. Her heart felt as if her blood had become tar as she struggled to keep a steady beat.

Ava's melancholy mood hang over her like a black cloud, raining her personal sorrow down on her.

No, Alpha Kane could never do that to her. She loves him. She loves him more than anything else in this entire universe. How is she supposed to live without him? 

Ava called him to come back but he didn't . 

When Ava thought of their beautiful memories, when they went on adventures together, when they went swimming together, when they made love and when she sang him sweet love songs, her eyes continued dripping with tears.

Her walls, the walls that hold her up, make her strong just…collapse.

Moment by moment, they fall. Ava felt stupid to be so much in love with him because it turns out that he really didn’t care about her let alone love her.   Ava never learnt to cry with style, silently, the pearl shaped tears rolling down her cheeks from her wide eyes.

She tried to think of life without him but she just couldn’t. She still loved him so much despite the pain that he had caused her.

She found herself calling his name. She wanted him to come back and say that everything was a joke and that he had not rejected her.  

If it is true that he had rejected her, then the midnight pack is not ready for what she will do to Alpha Kane. He must pay for rejecting her and in the end, she will ensure that she chooses her as the Luna of Midnight pack. 

She is too beautiful not to be the Luna let alone being rejected.
