IVY'S POV After spending another 8 hours in the car with my mother today I was so glad when we finally reached the small town of Oak Grove in Louisiana. Our final destination. The place where we were finally going to set up shop and hopefully stay here indefinitely. I hated that we had to move but I was glad to be away from our last pack. They were full of nothing but nasty assholes who picked on me at school because I was the bastard child from a teenage mother. My mother was only 18 and unmated when she had me and I've never met my father. My last pack would refer to my mother as a slut because she never gave up the name of the father so they assumed that she didn't know which man was my father. But I trusted my mother with everything I had and she didn't want to talk about it. She never wanted to talk to me about it. So I accepted that answer and assumed that it was probably really painful for her. She wasn't kicked out of her last pack like they usually do to unmated girls tha
When we finished dinner I went back upstairs to my bedroom and I went into the bathroom to have a shower. I got dressed in a tank top and shorts and I stood in front of the mirror blow drying my ass length snow blonde hair and brushing it at the same time so it didn't go all fluffy on me. And I stared in the mirror at my piercing blue eyes. Everyone always looked straight at the eyes because they were so blue and I actually started wearing contact lenses a couple years ago just to dull the color a bit. I don't need glasses or contacts, it was just to dull the color. And I was considering whether or not to do that here. In my old pack, I was a freak. With this new pack, I might not be a freak. People might actually like my eyes. It was probably just something else for those assholes to tease me about. They always had to find something. Just because we were the outcasts of the pack. And it had me questioning everything about myself. When I came out of the bathroom I grabbed another
After dinner Beau helped me with the dishes and cleaning up and everything and then he had to get going and I made sure all the doors were locked and I went upstairs to my room. I had a shower and I got dressed into a singlet and shorts and I went to the library and started unpacking my boxes of books until I heard mom finally get home at around 11pm. So I went out to the kitchen to see her. "You're dinner's in the fridge." I say. "Fantastic. Thank you so much." She says opening the fridge but then examining the large dish of lasagna. " You must have been hungry." She commented seeing how much was missing. "I ate the usual amount. I had company." I say. And she closed the fridge door without getting any food looking at me suspiciously. "You can calm down. It was Beau. The Alpha's little brother. He stopped by to meet me when I got back from buying groceries and that's when you sent me the text saying that you weren't going to be home. So I invited him to stay." I explained.
IVY POV On my first day of school I woke up at 6am and got dressed into a red and black sports top, matching tights that showed off my whole stomach, socks and sand shoes. And I left the house and jogged around the town again. It was really dead this time of morning. There was nothing open except the coffee shop. And I did see some warriors training on the training field. But I just passed them, even with the wolf whistling at me and I did a lap of the sleepy town before I got back to the house. I had a shower and I blow dried my hair and straightened it and then I got dressed into a white layer top with thick lace straps over my arms, denim shorts and wedges. And then I headed downstairs and I got a cup of coffee straight away and mom walked into the room. "Are you nervous?" She asked. "A little. I know that I shouldn't be. I keep saying that they're not our old pack. But it's hard." "I know it is. You had bad experiences at that pack. It wasn't fair on you. They picked on y
I avoided Beau for the rest of the day. Even in training after lunch that was mandatory. And instead I teamed up with a girl that I didn't even know. I hadn't met her or seen her all day. "Well, if we're going to be beating the crap out of each other today I should probably introduce myself. I'm Spencer." She says. "Ivy." I say. "Yeah. You've already gotten around. That shit at lunch time. Emma's an entitled bitch. She deserved what you gave her. Most people aren't game enough to fight back." She says. Well, I've had to fight back a lot in my life otherwise people would have been walking over me wherever I went in my old pack. "She pissed me off." I say. "Yeah. She does that very easily." Spencer says. And then the instructor got started and demonstrated a few different moves and we got straight into training. But I could feel Beau watching me almost the whole time even though I ignored him and had nothing to say to him. He tried to catch up with me after school but I ignore
IVY POV I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to give him a second chance. I've never wanted to give anyone a second chance before. Although, no one has ever begged for a second chance like Beau. Or ever at all. So, I guess I was going to find out if this was a good thing or if it was going to come back and bite me in the ass. I walked back into the house and up to my bedroom and I heard my mother on the phone in her bedroom. She was talking to someone but even with my advanced werewolf hearing, I couldn't hear the person on the other end of the phone through the door. It didn't sound like work. It sounded like a deep and meaningful conversation. I just hope that she wasn't talking to the last human boyfriend that she had. That guy was a real drunken douche and I couldn't stand him. But for some reason she always forgave him whenever he messed up. And he messed up a lot. He cheated on her all the time. He got drunk and beat down our door once and attacked mom with a knif
IVY POV That day at school went by pretty smoothly. And in the afternoon I was paired up with Spencer again during training. But Beau and Cole were always paired up together. I ignored them yesterday but I paid a little bit of attention today and they were actually pretty comical to watch. They took every cheap shot in the book and acted like true siblings. Beau ended up getting the last blow when he punched Cole in the crotch and Cole fell to the ground holding himself like they were going to fall off or something. And he turned to me with a huge smile on his face. When we finished training we headed to the locker room and my locker was right next to Spencer's and she says that it looks like Beau and I are back on track. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "Everyone thought that you and him were over before you began." She says. "We're not together. We're friends." I am confused. "Oh. The way you two act, you really look like you're dating. If not, you're at least head
BEAU POV "What the hell are you talking about?" I asked, staring Asher in the eye. "That's why I wanted you to keep her safe. Because I don't want her to know who I am yet. I don't give a shit that her mother is a doctor. I needed her here. Not her mother." Asher explained. "Why didn't you tell me that?" I asked. "Because I didn't want anyone to know. And then you started spending too much time together and it was too late. I didn't know how I was going to separate you two." Asher says. "If I knew that she was your mate then I definitely wouldn't have kissed her. And I promise, that's as far as it went. How did you even find out that she was your mate?" I asked. "I went to her pack about two years ago. I saw her. She didn't see me, she never felt the pull. She didn't even look at me. But I saw her. That's why I waited to get her here." Asher says. "You need to let her see you. You need to meet her. She's almost 18. She will start to feel the pull towards you." I told him.
I ran to Noah to make sure that he was still alive, and I let out a huge sigh of relief when I saw that he was still breathing. He was bleeding and he was injured, but he was alive. " I knew that was the only way to get you alone." Nick says from the door behind me. I turned around slowly and stood up. I was looking for a way out, but I couldn't get out. Not with Noah. I couldn't carry him. He was too big and heavy for me to carry. I was trapped. I wasn't leaving him here alone. " What did you do with Asher?" I asked. " You don't need to worry about him anymore. No one does." Nick smirked at me. " No." I screamed. " Well, you bought them here. You knew what I was. All this blood is on your hands." He says. " Why the hell would I ever want to have anything to do with you? Asher and Ivy are the only ones in this world that have never treated me like shit or tried to use me for my powers. I know that you were going to." I yelled as tears were falling down my face. " Are yo
It only took about half an hour to run to the house while in wolf form because we cut through the woods and we were really fast. It was fun running in wolf form though. I loved it. But when the house came into sight I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. The house was huge. Almost like a mansion but luckily it had a huge yard, because there were other houses next to it. We didn't want civilians getting hurt. And no one said anything about evacuating civilians. So Asher wasn't going to tell the neighbours what was going on. I guess he didn't want to tip Nick off as to what was happening. I looked up at the house and all the windows were blacked out and the sun was just starting to appear but it was still dark. So I shifted back and I quickly got dressed. Noah shifted back for a moment and he grabbed my hand and pulled me to him to kiss me. " I love you." He says. " I love you too. I'll see you soon." I say. And I started walking to the house. As soon as I got to the front doo
My life was compeltely different from what I knew it as. My days were spent with Ivy training with my powers and training how to fight. She was an awesome teacher and I'm glad that I got her instead of the warriors. She was tough on me but she wasn't insanely tough like the other instructors were on the trainees. Noah and I weren't seeing too much of each other. He was going to school and then working after school but we still managed to have dinner together at night and we tried to watch a movie or something to have a bit of time together. Ivy told me that was important. To make sure that we spent as much time together as possible. I guess she knows that from experience. I've heard all the stories of her being kidnapped and going missing and even Asher. They were horrific stories to me and I couldn't do that to Noah. I wanted to make sure that I spent as much time together with him as possible. I knew that they were already making plan to attack Nick's hideout but they were wa
As soon as we got the news that we knew where Nick was staying then Ivy was right on top of me about getting control of my powers. We needed me to learn how to control my powers so I don't hurt the people around me and I only hurt the people I intend on hurting. So she took me to the training grounds that she reserved just for us and we sat on the ground and crossed our legs. " Now, with powers like this meditation is the key to being able to control what you are going to do." Ivy says. " I've never really been one to meditate." I say. " It's concentration. You need to concentrate on what you are doing. Meditation is the key to doing that. You need to learn." Ivy says. " Alright. I'll try." I say. I've always had trouble meditating because there's always too much crap going on inside my head. I know that I need to give it a chance, but I can never calm my mind down long enough for it to actually work. I closed my eyes while sitting on the ground and I took a couple of deep
Every morning Ivy was working me like a dog at training and Noah and I had also started going to school in the pack. We were meeting new kids from the area and it was good to have kids that we at least had something in common with. Noah made friends easier than I did, but at least he never left me alone or anything like that. His friends became my friends and I didn't really mind that. I always seemed to get along better with guys then with girls. And I could tell that a lot of girls were starting to hate me for it. But I didn't really care. It wasn't my fault that I wasn't a girly girl. I was actually surprised that she-wolves were like that. They cared too much about clothes and make up and all the same stuff that regular girls cared about. But that stuff never interested me. And I think it put them off a little bit. But I knew that as long as I had Noah then I would be alright. He had been my lifeline for so long and I guess that wasn't going to change now that we're in this pa
The whole walk back to the packhouse was quiet. No one talked but I was fully aware of how close Ivy and Asher were behind me. They were angry with me. I knew that they were angry with me. I should have told them the truth from the start but I didn't think I had any choice. I had to keep it to myself. Noah was in danger. When we got to the packhouse I noticed that the living room light was on and when I walked inside Noah ran over to me and hugged me. " What the fuck do you think you were doing?" Noah snapped at me while still hugging me. I could actually feel how angry he was. And he was letting me know. That was a lot better than Ivy and Asher. They weren't yelling or screaming or punishing me. They were just quiet. It was really nerve wracking. I knew that they would never trust me again. They didn't have a reason to. I kept a huge secret from them and they needed to know the truth about vampires coming back to their territory. But I thought I would be leaving with them and
That night I didn't get very much sleep at all. I was tossing and turning all night until I finally got up and I went downstairs to the kitchen to get a drink. That's where I bumped into Ivy. She was down there giving the baby a bottle. " I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt." I say. " What are you talking about? It's the middle of the night. I welcome the intrusion at this time of night." She says. And I chuckle. " I just came to get a drink. I can't sleep." I say getting a bottle of water out of the fridge and I sat at the kitchen island next to her. " I can imagine. Tonight was pretty massive for you, wasn't it?" She asked. " Yeah. It was." I say. " I know that things haven't been easy for you. I get that. I know exactly how that is. I grew up knowing my father but I didn't actually know that he was my father. He was the Alpha of my old pack and he raped my mother when she was 14. She got pregnant with me and she was shunned by the whole pack. He ordered the pack to ha
It was clear that we weren't starting school today because school was cancelled. Too many people were concerned about the safety of their children. Apparently this pack has met day walking vampires and didn't want to risk it in case any might be on the land. So we just sat around the packhouse and I was lost in thought for most of the morning while we were sitting in the living room and I saw the kids running around everywhere. All of the kids. Quinn and Patrick included. They really did look like they had ADHD but they were just werewolf kids when Ivy came into the room and their kids ran over and jumped on Ivy. " Regan. The meeting is happening tonight. He insisted that you be there. But there will be a lot of protection so they won't be able to try anything while you're here." Ivy explained. " Where will the meeting take place?" Noah asked. " At the boarder." Ivy replied. " Outside? Really?" I asked nervously. " Trust me. You'll be alright. We will have warriors surro
When we landed at the airport we had to get into more cars that were waiting for us but it was just a short drive to the Blue Moon Pack. I heard that's what they called themselves. " Oh my god. I knew that you owned a large pack, But I never imagined it would be anything like this." Noah says looking out the window. We saw people around everywhere. The town was bigger than his pack town. And as we kept driving we saw three different training grounds with hundreds of warriors training in each other them. Noah was amazed but I was a little terrified. I didn't know what to think. " It's good to be home." Ivy says from the front seat of the car. " Tell me about it. I hope my brothers haven't set fire to anything while we were away." Asher says. " I don't think your brothers are the ones that we need to worry about anymore. I hope the kids didn't set fire to anything while we were away." Ivy says. " Oh yeah. I forgot about them." Asher says. And Ivy hit him in the chest. " I'
