HERA

As I strolled along the path that led into the garden outside the palace walls, the steady, rhythmic thud of arrows piercing a target caught my attention.

Turning toward the sound, I saw him—Ben, poised at the archery range, each arrow leaving his hand with an eerie, almost unnatural precision.

Each shot hit dead centre, one after another, slicing through the previous arrow. It was… mesmerising, almost otherworldly.

Without meaning to, I found myself walking up to him, drawn to his skill.

“Impressive,” I said, nodding toward the target, trying not to sound too awed. He looked over, flashing me that cocky grin of his.

“Ah, my lady approves of my humble talent,” he teased, offering a mock bow. I rolled my eyes, smirking.

“You do know you’re good,” I replied, unwilling to give him the full satisfaction. “I just find it interesting—”

“Interesting?” he cut in, feigning shock. “I’ll have you know, archery is an art, a skill that requires patience, precision… and maybe a bit of cha

He glanced up, his mouth curling into a smirk.“Well, well, if it isn’t big brother,” he drawled, clearly amused. “Miss me so much you had to barge in unannounced?” He chuckled, reaching for a shirt with a relaxed ease that grated on my nerves. His casualness and nonchalance always did that to me.“Don’t flatter yourself,” I muttered, crossing my arms. “I saw you and Hera at the archery grounds.” My voice was sharp, but I did my best to keep it even. “All close and in each other’s space.”Ben raised an eyebrow, then laughed outrightly.“Are you… jealous, Atticus?” he taunted, his grin widening. “That’s a first.” He shook his head, fits of chuckles escaping his lips. I clenched my jaw, hating that he could read me so easily. “Don’t be ridiculous,” I shot back, denying what he said even though he could see through me. “I’m war

HERAI stood on the fitting platform, arms lifted as the seamstresses pinned and adjusted the gown. The fabric was exquisite, heavy but elegant, cascading around me like liquid light. Anisha hovered by the side, watching with wide, curious eyes. The head seamstress, an older woman, gently adjusted my shoulders. "Chin up, Lady Hera…” she respectfully instructed and I did just that. “Yes, just like that. A future queen should always carry herself with grace."“Well, I try my best to be graceful.” I gave her a polite smile. “You’re doing wonderfully already, My Lady.” she assured me, her tone warm.Beside her, one of the young apprentices, barely past sixteen with that innocent curiosity, looked up at me with wide, admiring eyes. "Usually, the husbands come in for fittings,” she began to ramble. “They like to see their brides in their gowns—maybe offer a little encouragement, you know?”Her comment was met with quick looks from the other seamstresses present, their eyes widening as

A faint, unnatural purple hue surrounded it.Ben’s powers.I realised with a rush of awe and relief. His expression was deadly calm as he reached out, taking the arrow delicately by the shaft and bringing it close to his nose, inhaling carefully.“It’s poisoned,” he murmured, almost too calmly, examining the dark residue on the tip with an unsettling intensity. I felt a chill run down my spine. Someone had just tried to kill me… maybe even the both of usand he was examining it like it was some sort of puzzle.I tried to find words, my throat tight. “Ben, who—”“Stay here,” he ordered, not looking at me. His face was set, his eyes narrowing as he turned his attention to the window, tension coiling through his body. Then, without a second’s hesitation, he moved toward the windows.“Wait—Ben!” I reached for him, instinctively, as if I could stop him.But he had alread

HERAI was sitting by the vanity table, in front of a mirror as I took off my make up and jewelries, when I heard a soft knock on the door. My heart raced as I recognized that familiar scent—the one that mingled with my own in a way that was both dorminating and confusingly sexy.. It was Atticus.Anisha was just about to step out of the room, her arms full of my accessories, when she nearly bumped right into him. The moment she caught sight of Atticus, her face blanched, as if she’d just seen a ghost. Her eyes widened, and she looked like she might bolt, which only fueled my curiosity.“Um, s-sorry, A-Alpha!” she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, and then, without waiting for a response, she scurried out of the room as if the floor had caught fire beneath her.Atticus stood there, confusion etched on his features. “What was that about?” he asked, glancing over his shoulder where Anisha had disappeared. “I don’t think I am that frightening.” He looked back at me, eyebrow

ATTICUS“I know you want to protect me because of the coronation,” she said, her voice steady but carrying that edge she got when she was trying to keep something buried deep down. “But I have my own reasons to make sure it’s successful.”As Hera’s words hung in the air, my chest tightened. Her words hit me harder than I cared to admit. She thought this was about the coronation, the kingdom, some calculated plan. And maybe I wanted her to keep believing that—to make it easier on both of us. But if I was honest, I knew it wasn’t. This was about her. And I wasn’t prepared to watch her walk straight into whatever fire was waiting for her.“What do you mean?” I forced my voice to stay level, hoping she didn’t see the tension coiling beneath. She took a breath, like she was bracing herself. Rising, she walked over to the window, staring out as if she was seeing her pack lands instead of the vast palace lands. “I must see the end of the betrayal and even if I have to do another forbidde

ATTICUS“Watch your mouth, Ben,” I warned, voice low. “Don’t talk about my mate like that.”Ben’s lips curled into a mocking smirk as he rose from where he was lounging, tossing the ball from hand to hand. He closed the distance between us slowly, his gaze fixed on me with that familiar, taunting glint. “Mate?” he echoed, eyebrows raised. “She’s your fake mate, Atticus. Or did you forget?”I felt my jaw tighten, the restraint slipping. “Doesn’t matter what you think. She’s mine.” I growled back. He took a step closer, a challenge in his gaze as he leaned in, his voice low and taunting. “Why so tense, brother?” He bobbed his head to the side, his tone mocking. “She’s just a stand-in, right? A decoy. Surely, you’re not getting all worked up over her?” I glared at him, heat flaring under my skin. “You don’t know any fucking thing, Ben.” “Oh, I don’t?” He let out a low laugh, circling me, every word a taunt. “Or maybe I know more than you want to admit,” Then he gasped, like he ju

Her body took me in, hot and tight, and I couldn’t hold back, driving into her with a fierce rhythm, every thrust slamming our bodies together in a way that was raw, unforgiving. Each movement sent a shockwave through her; her back arched, her fingers gripping into my shoulders as I lifted her to straddle me, pressing her firmly down on my cock until she was flush against me.“That’s it,” I growled, feeling her pulse around me, her slick heat pulling me deeper.I kept my thrusts fast, deep, torturous, dragging it out as her moans grew louder, until I was sure Ben could hear every desperate sound she made. She was tight, slick, and perfect, clinging to me as if she was made for this. I’d been here many times, but each visit felt darker, more suffocating. More scary.I will never get used to it. A sharp, anguished scream broke the silence, followed by another. My steps faltered. I recognized Wanni’s cries loud and clear. ATTICUSIt was evening, the setting sun sipping into the grand dinning room where I was having my dinner.More or less.My plate was untouched, the food growing colder by the minute. It wasn’t that I wasn’t hungry—I simply didn’t have an appetite, not without her.Hera hadn’t joined me for dinner. Again.I swirled the wine in my glass. She was still upset, and I couldn’t blame her. All I needed was to fix things between us. I couldn’t bare this silent treatment for long.Kai burst through the doors, interrupting my thoughts.“My Alpha,” he said, barely catching his breath, “the Alphas are here.”What? I frowned, confused. “The Alphas?”“Yes,” he said, his tone tight. “Logan, Vance, and Draven. They are in the council chambers as we speak with Elder Rowan and Malik.”I stood, my chair scraping against the floor. “Did I call for a meeting?”Kai shook his head. “No, My Alpha.”My jaw tightened. I hadn’t summoned them, which meant their arrival was likely calculated. Whatever their re

Like you did in there?”I stopped at the door to my chambers, turning to face her. Her eyes were blazing, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. She looked every bit the fierce woman I knew her to be, but beneath the anger, I could see the hurt. It twisted something inside me to think I might have caused that.“Hera, it wasn’t about dismissing you,” I said, my voice calm but still firm. “I was trying to avoid further conflict. The council is already divided, and Rowan—”“Rowan!” she cut me off, stepping closer. “That man’s ideas are a disaster waiting to happen, and you know it,” she jabbed a finger into my face and I veered back. “But instead of standing by me, you sided with him. You made me look like a fool in front of everyone.”I opened the door to my room and gestured for her t

HERA"My Lady," Anisha gasped out as she burst into my room, bowing slightly before straightening up. I was lounging on the chair, dropping the book in my hand on my lap as I looked up at her. Her cheeks were flushed, and her wide eyes betrayed her panic. "Forgive my intrusion, but I need to speak with you immediately." "What is it, Anisha?” I asked, sitting up. “What’s happened?" She hesitated for a moment, glancing around as if to ensure we were alone. My brows quirked in confusion."I was in town earlier, running errands,” she began, taking a deep breath to catch her breath. “and I… I saw Elder Rowan and Elder Malik together. They were talking—loud enough for me to hear part of it." I straightened at the mention of Elder Rowan’s name. Ever since our last council meeting, I have been very wary of that man. “Go on,” I urged. Her hands twisted nervously in front of her as she continued. "They were speaking about the Alpha, about how he’s become weak and… and about restoring

HERAThe door shut softly behind me, sealing me inside Ben’s secret room. It was just as eerily quiet as I remembered, save for the steady ticking of a small clock on the desk. Ben was sitting on the edge of the bed, his hands clasped together, staring at the floor like it held all the answers.“Ben,” I said carefully, stepping further into the room.He didn’t look up, didn’t acknowledge me. I sighed. “Ben, I—”“Go,” he said flatly, his voice low but sharp.I froze for a moment, swallowing my frustration. “I’m not going anywhere. We need to talk.”“Talk about what, Hera?” He finally looked up, his eyes emotionless. “How you stood there and let him strip me of my powers? How you didn’t say a word while he took the only thing I had left?”“It’s not like that,” I said softly, taking a cautious step closer. “That and this is only temporary, Ben. You know that.”“Temporary?” He laughed bitterly, shaking his head. “You think that makes it better? You think that makes me feel less humilia

  • THE ALPHA’S HATED CONTRACT MATE   95: The Council

ATTICUSI entered the council chamber with Hera by my side, feeling the tension in the room thicken. The elders were seated, their eyes on us, some curious, others wary. Elder Aaron, the oldest and wisest elders of all, and my father’s oldest friend, gave me a small nod of acknowledgment, but Elder Rowan leaned back in his seat with his usual air of superiority, his lips curling into a faint smirk. This is going to be an interesting meeting with what I’ve got planned. Hers and I sat down, and the curiosity in their eyes doubled. They have never seen a Luna in the private council chamber before during a meeting, so I get it.All that is about to change. I took a steadying breath before addressing the room. “Thank you all for coming on such short notice,” I began. “As you’re aware, we’ve suffered a grave loss. Elder Ayo’s death at the hands of my brother, Ben, is not just a personal tragedy—it’s a loss to the entire kingdom.”“Yes,” Elder Zahrah added softly. “But Alpha, how do you

ATTICUSSoon, we were back to Feral Blood. When the car came to a stop, I got out first, moving quickly to Hera’s side to open her door.“Hmmmn, how chivalrous,” she teased as she took my stretched hand. I chuckled, threading my fingers through hers.“Only for you, my Luna,” I responded with a smirk as we started up the stairs together. The front doors swung open before we even reached them, and Kai strode out to meet us. His expression was serious, almost grim, and I knew before he opened his mouth that something was wrong.“Welcome back, Alpha,” he bowed to greet me, then did the same for Hera. “Luna,” he smiled faintly and she smiled back in response. “What is it?” I asked, my voice sharp and direct. There wasn’t time for pleasantries—not after the tension I could see in his posture.Kai hesitated, glancing at Hera briefly before focusing back on me. “Before you go in, I just want to let you know that we have some sort of… eh, situation.” He said and I frowned, my grip on Hera’s

ATTICUSIn the haze of sleep, my body stirred before my mind caught up.At first, I thought it was just a dream—one of those vivid ones where everything feels heightened. But then I felt it. A soft, deliberate stroke along my length, the sensation sending a jolt straight through me. My breathing grew heavier, the pressure building with every teasing glide of what I swore were fingers. I groaned low in my throat, thrusting my hips instinctively into the sensation. It felt so good—too good to be a dream. Then came the wet heat, soft and slick and entirely too real. My groan deepened, the sound raw and guttural. My hips jerked involuntarily, and my hand fisted in the sheets beneath me.What the hell—?Forcing my heavy eyelids open, my gaze trailed down my bare body. The sight that greeted me made my heart slam against my ribs. His hips rolled, slow and deliberate, each thrust sending ripples through the water and waves of pleasure through me. He filled me to the hilt, his pace unhurried yet intense.I moaned softly, letting my hands roam his back, feeling the muscles flex beneath my touch.
