"So, what do you think?" Emma asked Margo, as she finished her narration, staring at the older woman, her eyes brimming with a burning need for answers.

"I think you had a hell of a day." Margo replied, sidestepping the main point which she knew the redhead had wanted her to speak on.

"I know I did. I was actually asking your opinion about the professor and the clique. What do you think they are? It is obvious that they aren't just humans." Emma said.

"Yeah. They are humans with gifts." Margo stated, letting out a sigh when the redhead rolled her eyes. Of course, that was obvious to everyone who would hear the story. The redhead was specifically asking her if she had any idea what they really are, and her avoidance of the real tale must have told the redhead that she did know something about them. It was too late to claim ignorant.

"You don't want to tell me either." Emma said, reading off Margo's thoughts, as the latter had been proving stubborn, leaving her no choice.

The knock bristled again on the dark brown wooden door. Emma squared her shoulders, and walked to the door, all the while wondering who could be at her door by this time of the night. When she opened the door, she gasped a little as she found who was standing in front of her. Derek. "Hey..." She finally muttered, breaking the silence between them. He had just been staring at her, his forehead marred with straight lines of thoughts. What was he thinking? Had he perhaps heard Margo talking? She hoped that he hadn't. She wasn't just in the mood for a banter. "Aren't you coming in?" She asked, cussing her voice for being so hoarse. Well, she hadn't really slept for the night. He didn't say anything still. He just passed through the space she had just created, and stood still at the centre of the room. "What are you doing here?" She asked, after closing the door. "...after you and Maya bailed on me tonight. The discussion or meeting must have been really juicy." She bit out sarc

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   LOSS OF HER VIRGINITY

His shirt floated to the ground while her hands found the fastening of his shorts, as she suddenly found themselves on the bed. She pushed impatiently at the offending shorts, wanting them out of the way, needing them gone. Once again the air crackled and he was naked in the dim light sponsored by the streaks of moonlight in her room, the silvery beams illuminating the hard planes of his body. He looked magnificently male, a masculine sculpture dedicated to pure carnal pleasure. Made for it. Needing it. Emma gasped in awe, running her hands over him, while deep inside the aching need blossomed into a ferocious hunger that bit at her and clawed until her body raged at her. She knew that they were both beyond control, but it didn't matter to her. She looked up at him, at his dark blue, merciless eyes, eyes alive with hunger and desire, an insatiable lust bordering on obsession. She understood; she felt the same. It felt a bit weird, a bit strange, a bit powerful, and then beautiful. Was

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   TOUCH ME

"Emma, have you….what the fuck!!!!" Maya shouted, as she opened the door to Emma's room, and saw her lying on the bed, still asleep, entangled with her cousin. And they were naked. Plain naked, like Adam in the garden of Eden. She hurriedly closed her eyes with her palms, then removed it and looked elsewhere, fanning herself dramatically, as she saw from the corner of her eyes, Derek wiggling his shorts up his hips. He had woken up, at Maya's loud shout. His movements were quite frenzy, that it seemed to bother Emma who had also woken up. And when she had seen her boyfriend trying to get out of the bed hurriedly, she decided to push her best friend out of the room for the now, actually cussing her for even interrupting a morning moment which should have been special, especially after the hot love making last night. The memory of it had her blushing hard, and her insides tingling like crazy. She was also slightly embarrassed for being caught in the act, even though she didn't regr

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Derek was still on the bed, going through Emma's history notes, or rather trying to understand a paragraph but failing to because of his unpresent, unassimilating mind which was already filled with thoughts of Emma, specifically their love making last night; when Emma walked into the room from the small bathroom, clouded in a white thick towel which stopped at the upper end of her thighs."You're still here? You should be dressing up." She said, walking to the wardrobe to get clothing for school."Yeah... you're right." He said, keeping her note on the bedstand, and standing up abruptly from the bed, all the while, not removing his eyes from her long legs which seemed to go on forever. She was his. Oh, the joy that filled his soul."Quit staring at me like that, and use my bathroom. You can change in your room later." She said, as she caught him staring at her, while trying to apply lotion on her leg which she had kept on a chair, near the dressing table."No, I would rather use mine.

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   BEST FRIENDS: A FIGHT

Derek swallowed his saliva as he watched his mother's brown eyes darken in fury. He was in trouble. But for what cause? Stretching his sight beyond her, he saw his cousin staring at him. Her face too was contorted with fury. What did he do now, apart from sleeping with his girlfriend? That was normal for couples, wasn't it? "What have you done?" He heard his mother ask through their mind link, each word lined with volumes of anger and disappointment "Mother, I don't understand." He replied through the mind link "You slept with her. Your scent is all over her. What do you think would happen if the others find out? What about your father? Do you think of his reactions?" She asked, not breaking eye contact with him. Shit! He thought, sinking his right fingers into his hair, while taking his gaze to the open window. "We have fucked up, Maru." He mumbled to his wolf, as he remembered that whenever a male wolf, especially an Alpha wolf mated with his mate, his scent clothes his ma

She was able to extract some facts, before the latter had left the bathroom. She was in pain.Pain over whomsoever her father was. Pain over being rejected by her mate. Pain over being insulted by her only female friend.Emma felt disheartened and guilty. She had also found out that Maya hadn't told her the reason for reporting them to Melvina because Derek would have have her hide for it, and also because the truth might upset her. What truth? She hadn't been able to get to that, as Maya had already left the room before she had been able dig into itThis family was shrouded in a lot of secrets. She thought. Something peculiar to rich and royal families. Something peculiar to politics. What was wrong with Derek sleeping with her? Was it because she wasn't from here? Or because she looked like a commoner?Well, she might have to involve her father into this if it came to that. She wa

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   I'M SORRY, MUM

Derek watched his mother as she paced back and forth the kitchen, with her hands on her waist."Mum, I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking." He said for the umpteenth time since they had left his little witch's room."That's your problem. Why weren't you thinking?" She asked, taking a moment to stop her marathon pacing."I...we..." He was stuttering now, not knowing how to speak out on how it had happened to his mother. He actually felt embarrassed."I didn't teach you to stutter Derek. What happened? How did you lose your mind? What were you even doing in her room in the first place?" She asked, raising up her right eyebrow as she asked the last question."I know you both are dating, in her words, but you should know better. I trusted you to know better. I trusted you to do better." She stated."I'm so…" He was saying, when she interrupted him."I'm tired of hearing that you're sorry. Why should you go to her room in the first place, by that time of the night? We had finished the meeting arou

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   TROUBLE IN CAPITAL LETTERS

Emma tightened her grip on her bag as she caught another wave of students staring at her questioningly. What was it again? She thought. She hadn't even received those stares on her first day in college. Hell! She didn't even receive it yesterday. So, what changed today? Or could it be because of the beauty potion Maya had convinced her to drink before they had entered Anthony's car? No, she didn't think so. The students were far off. And the effects of the liquid shouldn't have been that fast to show or work out. It couldn't have been that strong. She had considered it tasteless and perhaps over hyped even, when she had drank it. So, why were they looking at her? She turned to look at Maya who was walking beside her. Her friend seemed lost in thoughts, biting her lips occasionally. She was tempted to read her mind her again, but changed her mind in the last second. Thoughts were meant to be private. She wouldn't be encroaching in again, unless it was necessary. • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   ANNABEL’S TRIAL

Emma’s eyes were as active as anything active as she watched the elders slowly walk into the hall reserved for judging cases, like Annabel’s. As she watched them, her feet kept dancing on the floor in a funny unsteady motion; she was unsteady. One, one. Then two, two. Then one two. Once, Amelia had looked at her, with a piqued eyebrow. ‘What is that?’ Her eyes seemed to ask, but Emma had given no answer. What is it? It should be what are they?! When they were hurrying over to the hall, after convincing the guards that they would be around for the trial too, her sister had whispered that the cabin, her parent’s cabin, had been burnt by the master, Slediv. It had brought Emma up short, making her stagger on her feet for two reasons. That Slediv had really traced them, even without her then, and that the cabin was burnt; the loss it meant for her parents. Would they regret helping her then? Prescott didn’t think so. But Emma was still worried about it, just like her mind had tried

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   BAD BLOOD

One week later:Emma had run to the clinic, immediately Adah had burst into her apartment with the news that Annabel and Amelia were awake. Over the couple of days in class, they had bonded over gossip, and training, seeing as the latter was the only one that had been sincerely interested in her. Emma had run with Prescott in her hands, and Adah right behind her. And when she arrived at the room she had frequented daily with prayers, and saw her sister and her friend chatting tiredly, she let out a scream of happiness and hurried over to them. “Amelia! Annabel!” She called gaily, garnering the attention of the two females sitting cross-legged on the same bed. Before they could let out a shout or smile of their own, Emma’s hands were already around them. “Oh my goodness, I am so happy for both of you…” she paused. “but give me a heartache again, and I will skin you both alive..” Annabel and Amelia divulged bouts of laughter, with the nurses. Prescott and Adah weren’t left behind,

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   CLAIRE AND FAMILY IV

Caden sighed in relief at his mate’s words, wanting to believe at all costs that the years he had spent with her, that the love they had shared, hadn’t been in vain. He didn’t know what he would have done otherwise. Cry, brood? Neither was acceptable in these times. And so, he wasn’t moved when his son piqued an eyebrow at his mate’s words, or when his daughter’s lips turned up—in disgust or curiosity, he wasn’t sure. But he didn’t care. He just hung on to the thread that his mate was spinning with. “I didn’t cheat on my mate, I’m sure he would have found out if I had done so, considering the mate bond and all that…” There was a pause, where relief sunk its foothold the more in Caden and his children. “So, if that’s what you are thinking, Caden… if that’s what you all are thinking, cut it out. I was surprised too when Claire had met me with the news at first, and I didn’t tell you, Caden, because I wasn’t sure how to explain the phenomena to you. I knew you held the lineage of you

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   CLAIRE AND FAMILY III

Chyra didn’t know what Clem was talking about—the end of the world, and all that—but she knew that she was to blame for Claire rejecting her mate considering what she had soaked into her daughter’s mind about the alpha’s family, about how the Luna seat was her birthright. She also knew that she shouldn’t be working with Arnold. But she was too proud to concede to that, to concede to anyone, and so she shrugged her shoulders to Clem’s question. In the next second, she saw why that had been a wrong play on her part. When she saw Clem fume in anger, when she saw Claire glare at her stinkingly, when she saw her mate watch her like she was foolish, she knew that she had made a mistake. It would have been best if she had kept quiet, than giving off that nonchalant attitude. But her pride held her back from apologizing. Why should she apologize for being a mother caring to give her daughter the best? “Mother, are you so daft that…” Clem was saying when his father shouted him down. Caden

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   CLAIRE AND FAMILY II

At this point, Clem didn’t know what to think about his sister, Claire. He had thought that their parents had been her motivator to reject Curtis, to follow Curtis up and down, to join the meetings that prince Nathan held with the others, but from the thick astounded silence that dwelled in the room, it could be safe to say that his sister had been acting on her own, without any external influence. He didn’t know what to think of that. He looked at his mother; she looked more shocked out of her shoes and mind than his father, quite expected since the mother and daughter duo were quite close, since his sister had no mind of hers, except put into place by his mother. As much as he was not happy with his twin, he was happy that for once his mother had no part to play in her recent escapades. “What do you mean…Claire?” Caden asked, pushing himself ahead, his elbow resting on his knees. “What do you mean when you say that Curtis is your mate? When did that happen? When did you find out?

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   CLAIRE AND FAMILY

What Claire saw first when she stepped into her father’s room was her parents sitting in the living room, with Clem, their backs hunched, the air filled with pregnant silence, waiting. They were waiting for her. She knew it from the moment she had dropped a note in Clem’s mind that she was on her way home. That he hadn’t bothered with a response, should have been enough to let her know that her twin was still angry with her. But she had held out hope, until she had reached the borders of the pack and he hadn’t been waiting for her. This was very different from the times they had quarrels. She knew, however, that this quarrel was different. She had denied her mate, because of the throne; had gone ahead to push Emma away from the pack; and when Derek still hadn’t chosen her, she had returned to Curtis because he was an Alpha. Would she have returned to him if he wasn’t that? She didn’t know. That was the truth. She didn’t know. She might have gone back to Curtis, even if he wasn’t a

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   ANOTHER MATE FOR CURTIS

At Wind Winders Pack.“Dad, what is this? What was Zoe doing in my room so early in the morning?” Curtis questioned, a second after he rushed into the dining room where his parents were having breakfast. He had slept in obviously, but he didn’t care. Yesterday’s training had been rigorous after all. He darted his eyes between his mother and father; his mother’s widened eyes told him that she had no idea what he was talking about; quite expected since this turn of event hadn’t been part of their plans. Hence, he trained his eyes on his father; the old man just continued eating his breakfast like he hadn’t spoken. Curtis thought of repeating himself, but thought better of it. He walked up to his father, and took away his plate of food; an act that he wouldn’t have been able to try before; an act that might have spelt his death; but considering his father’s few options of allies, he knew that he had a chance to live. And so, when his father glared at him heatedly, he didn’t quake in hi

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   PRESCOTT IS AWAKE

“Hey…how are you feeling?” Emma whispered, touching Prescott’s head softly, as she watched him open his eyes for the second time. The first time, she had screamed and had called for the nurse in charge of his treatment, not minding that Adah was with her. Nothing could have dampened her joy. She had just checked on Annabel and Amelia, who although their vitals were stable, was still asleep, yet out of coma. According to the chief nurse, a week was enough for them to wake up now. Then she had checked on Prescott, and only touching him with fondness had elicited the response of his eyes opening. Emma had been overjoyed. “Prescott, can you hear me?” She asked softly, dragging a seat to herself, whilst Adah watched on, not understanding the communication method of the squirrel and Emma. Like the people in the community, she had never seen a talking animal, or rather an animal that communicates as Emma had painted Prescott to be. Her friend who was in the upper echelons of the community

  • THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION   STARTING CLASSES III

No professor spoke to her, and Emma couldn’t help but wonder why. Had Prince Shiloh ask them to avoid her? Or had professor Brooks’ defeat scared them away from her? Well, if that was the matter, then she believed it was for the greater good. She had no interest in making affiliations after all, so long as they taught her what she wanted to know, and treated her fairly. “So, do you think you can cope?” She heard Adah ask, and turned aside to see her new seat mate. The mischievous glint in the latter’s eyes made her smile, howbeit small. “I believe I can.” She answered, before getting on her feet. She took her bag which Gira had provided that morning and slung the straps across her shoulder. It was time to go home, or rather check on her friends. Classes were done for the day. “Where are you going?” Adah asked her, getting to her feet. As they walked toward the door, a couple of the students swiftly moved, and stood before the door, causing Emma to furrow her eyebrows. But she chose
