Kara's POV.

"How dare you try to…" I was about to voice my frustration when, much to my surprise, Kayla hit me right across the face so hard.

The force of her slap was astonishingly painful, and it hit me like a sudden storm. I broke down to the ground, landing squarely on my butt, creating an unmistakable thud that resonated in my ears.

My hands instinctively rushed to my stinging cheek, and with a quick motion, I turned to gaze at Kayla in utter disbelief. Her face was contorted with anger, and for the first time in a long while, I felt a hint of fear in her presence.

Kayla had never struck me on the face before. In fact, she had never really fought for herself.

She had always been the quiet, submissive Omega who was never expected to show such boldness. It almost felt like I was caught in a surreal moment.

"Never, ever…" Kayla took a deliberate step closer to where I sat on the sandy ground, my body already partially covered in beach sand.

"In your entire life, dare you lay those f
