XAVIER’S POV

The already thick tension in the room increased to a boiling level and I watched as Xena quickly tried calming Kelvin down. She whispered something to him, and he let out a grumble like an imbecile.

I had to double-check that he was truly just a cripple and not a total nitwit too.

With raised brows, I watched their exchange, wondering how my dear sister must have been coping with the fool. Did he think he had the highest anger level in the realm? Or did he sleep better lying to himself that his anger had catastrophic effects?
