CHAPTER 40: MIRACLE WORKER

KAELAN:

As we drove back to the pack, I felt peaceful, knowing that my mate was happy. Everly sat beside me, and rested her hand lightly on mine. The evening had been exactly what we needed—time to relax after the chaos of the last few days.

As we approached the pack grounds, I saw fireworks and heard sounds of laughter and music. The gates were wide open, and dozens of pack members were gathered, singing and dancing.

“What’s going on?” Everly asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.

“I don’t know,” I admitted, and pulled the car to a stop. “Stay close to me.”

As soon as we got out of the car, the crowd began to cheer. Pack members rushed toward us, bowing profusely. Their expressions were filled with awe and gratitude.

“Alpha! Luna!” one of the warriors called out happily. “You’ve returned!”

Everly glanced at me curiously. “Did we miss something?”

Before I could respond, an elderly woman rushed forward, and clutched Everly’s hand. “Supreme Luna, thank you.

Rather, he turned to the guards, “Take her to the dungeon immediately.”Seraphina struggled while she was being taken away. “Alpha Kaelan, you will never have children for rejecting my child.”I gasped and glanced up at Kaelan who hardened his expression and said nothing. CHAPTER 42: II DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT EVERLY:I woke up the next day and decided to stay in my room. Kaelan didn't come to explain things to me after Seraphina's outburst last night. What the hell was she really talking about? What child of hers did Kaelan reject? Had they been together before Kaelan and I met?A thousand and one questions gnawed at me and I need answers before I lose my mind. As if that wasn't enough trouble already, I've gone and welcomed my enemies into my own home. I just couldn't shake the feeling that I've made a big mistake. The door suddenly opened and Kaelan stepped in.“You’re overthinking again,” he said as he entered the room with a cup of coffee in each hand. He handed one to me before taking a seat beside me.“Wouldn’t you overthink if you were in my shoes? I can’t help it,” I admitted, taking a sip. “You’re yet to explain what the heck Seraphina was ranting about last night. Don't I deserve an explanation?”Kaelan set his glass down and took m

CHAPTER 45: SOMETHING IS NOT ADDING UP EVERLY:I was willing to heed Kaelan's advice and take my focus away from Isabella and her activities but my instincts felt otherwise. So I still had someone watch her constantly.I noticed that she was no longer enthusiastic and even tried to avoid me. Maybe she thought I was still the timid, fragile girl she used to bully back then. Well, I have evolved into a strong and fearless Luna who is willing to stand up for herself and her pack anytime, any day.Just one week after the library incident, where I caught her pouring tea for Kaelan so early in the morning, another incident took place. Supply for the warriors was tampered with. This was a serious situation. Someone tore some armour straps and even stole some weapons. While we were trying to investigate that, we received a false alert about Rogues trying to invade our border. Half of our Lycan warriors rushed to the border only to find nothing. While they were at the border with Kaelan, Vik

Is there something I need to know?”They hesitated and twisted their fingers back and forth.“I'm waiting,” I intoned.“Hmmm, Luna, actually…..” Maria began but I cut her off.“Meet me in my room,” I commanded and sauntered away.Maria and Ava came into my room and they both looked nervous. “You called for us, Luna?” Maria asked, bowing slightly.“Yes, I did,” I said, and gestured for them to sit down. “I need to talk to you both about Isabella.”They stole a glance at each other, and Ava spoke first. “Is something wrong, Luna?”I folded my hands in my lap and spoke calmly. “I asked you to keep an eye on her, to report anything unusual or suspicious. I gazed into his eyes as we ate. His expression was unreadable. I forked out a chunk of roasted chicken and tried to feed him. He gazed at me for a while before he reluctantly opened his mouth. As I put the chicken in his mouth, I gave him a warm smile. We were sitting opposite each other and I had to strain my hand to feed him. He was my Alpha and I would let no one come between us.“Do you think I'm stressing you out?” I had to ask because I didn't understand his mood.He stared at me for a moment. “Everly, please let's not ruin our appetite.”I went silent for the rest of the meal. That response was enough to make me understand that he wasn't entirely happy with me.When we were done, Maria came and cleared the table. Kaelan remained seated without saying a word. CHAPTER 101: I DON'T WANT THINGS, KAELAN.KAELAN: I’d taken the priestess’s vial in a desperate move to ensure that our packs survive against our enemies' growing threat. But the price was a chilling void where my love for Everly should have been. Or, at least, the expression of that love. The feeling was still there, buried deep in my heart, but the ability to show it was gone. And she's been so cold lately and has been avoiding me.I bought her a diamond ring and other expensive jewelry to show her that she was still precious to me. I didn't think I could face her yet, so I sent Owen to give her the gifts.I waited anxiously for her to come to me. But she didn't. Instead, Owen came back with the package and a note with Everly's handwriting.“What did she say?” I asked, my voice rough, as Owen entered the room.He shook his head, looking so grim. “She didn't take the gifts, Alpha. Not even a single one.”“She refused them?” My voice cracked and I could feel my heartbeat accelerati

But how could I, when I wasn’t even sure I’d ever go back to being normal?Owen came back in and stood in front of me, waiting for me to give him attention. I stared at him blankly and it made him feel a little uncomfortable. “Alpha, Zeus has moved faster than we anticipated.”I leaned forward and my weight made the polished wood to creak in response. “Faster how, Owen? I thought we had eyes on him.”“We do,” he confirmed, and lowered his gaze down to the folder before returning to mine. “He may not be able to buy weapons directly, but he’s working through proxies—human criminal syndicates.”“Really.”“Yes, Alpha. I've been away from the metropolis for a while but my businesses are in capable hands.Kenneth and I chatted for a while, while Owen stood before me, his face devoid of emotions as always.I knew something was wrong. Something seems to be always wrong these days. As soon as I was done chatting with Kenneth, I gave Owen my attention. I knew something was wrong but I knew I couldn't tell what it was until I heard from him.“Speak,” I ordered, my voice sharp.Owen looked at me directly. “Alpha, Zeus is furious about the new threaty. CHAPTER 98: A GROWING DISTANCEEVERLY:I was so pissed with Kaelan’s sudden change of attitude towards me. I can hardly believe this was the same Kaelan I had married. He claims to still be here when actually he isn't.As I stormed out of the bedroom in anger, I expected him to catch my arm, pull me to himself and show me that he was still here indeed, but he didn't.My chest heaved with frustration as I hurried off. I wasn’t even sure where I was going, but I needed to get away from him. Away from the coldness in his eyes. Away from the emptiness that had replaced the man I loved.I walked through the long corridors of the packhouse, and tried not to make a sound. The moonlight still glowed beautifully in the sky. It reminded me how beautiful our love had once been. Our love was once as beautiful as the full moon. Now, all I felt was a void.I leaned on the wall and felt utterly helpless.“Luna,” Owen called as he approached. “Are you alright?”I turned to face him, and tried to sm

CHAPTER 97: A DANGEROUS AGREEMENTKAELAN:I was in such a great mood after I defeated Marcus. I knew the battle wasn't over but I needed to celebrate this little victory. I had breakfast with my Luna, specially prepared by our chef. Back in my chamber, I pulled Everly to myself.“Come to Daddy,” I said sweetly in her ear and rubbed her belly. “I want to pump my seed in here.”She blushed different shades of red while I pressed a kiss on her forehead. “Come,” I dragged her hand and slipped it under my panties. I wanted her to feel my manhood. She was still blushing but she followed every of my moves. It's been days since I touched her.Now I expected my cock to roar to life after that soft caress by my luna but I felt nothing.I pulled off every single clothing on my body and sprawled on the bed. “Play with Daddy,” I told her, pulling her toward myself. Everly got to work. She kissed me tenderly on my lips while she ran her hands along my arbs. Her thumb circled my nipples and I ex

  • THE ALPHA KING'S GIFTED MATE    DEFEATING MARCUS

CHAPTER 96: DEFEATING MARCUS KAELAN: My warriors have assembled outside the castle gates, their armor gleaming under the pale moonlight. The energy in the air was tangible. It was as if a storm was brewing, waiting to be unleashed.Owen moved to my side, his sword strapped across his back. "The scouts just returned. Marcus has fortified the Silver Cross pack with twice the number of rogues. And the humans he recruited? They're armed to the teeth."I smirked. "Good. It'll make crushing them all the more satisfying."Everly was standing close by but her eyes were down and she played with her fingers. My heart went out for her.She was nervous, obviously afraid for me. I walked up to her. "Hey, sweetheart, something on your mind?”She didn't respond.I stared at her for a while. “Make sure you stay here."She scoffed. "Like hell I will.""Everly!"She lifted her chin stubbornly. "You might be immune to silver now, but that doesn’t make you invincible. You need me."I let out a breath

CHAPTER 95: LET'S GO TAKE SILVER CROSS BACK KAELAN:I coordinated my warriors, and gave them instructions on how to attack the enemies and defend themselves. Also we spent the rest of the evening making handmade bulletproof vests. It might not be sophisticated enough but it would certainly make a difference. The hours before dawn passed in restless silence. I lay awake, staring at the ceiling of my chambers, the vial of silver liquid still wrecking havoc with my body. Everly hadn’t returned to our room after storming out of the meeting. I knew she was angry but she'll get over it. Being mated to the Alpha King comes with a cost.A knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts."Enter," I called. The door opened gently, and Owen entered, looking grim. "It’s almost time for the battle, Alpha."I sat up, running a hand through my hair before standing. Owen watched me carefully, like he was afraid something would happen to me.But I didn't give a damn.I grabbed my own vest and followed

Think of what would happen if you lose your memory and can no longer remember a thing. It would be worse than being attacked with ammunition.”I continued walking, but my face felt so tight it hurt. “I won't lose my memory.”“And what if you lost your ability to love. What would happen to your beautiful Luna? She's too young to put up with a man who can't love her.”I paused and thought about it for a while. Well, this was a matter of life and death. We need to be alive first before we can talk about love, right? When Zion received no response from me, he moved ahead.“You know, Kaelan, there can be another way around this. You can talk to Alpha Jordan. He has connections to those who can supply you with sophisticated weapons.”I paused and looked at him. “That's an excellent idea but there's no time. An arm deai takes

CHAPTER 93; BEWARE, ALPHA KaelanZion led the way since he was going to introduce me to the priestess. The journey to the priestess’s domain was tedious. We drove for a while and packed at the base of a mountain. Then we climbed the mountain on foot. We are werewolves and climbing the mountain wasn't such a big deal. However, we had to shift and fight a few mountain predators before we made it to our destination. The smell of ancient herbs made me realise we were near.I saw a wooden door in the distance, adorned with runes that pulsed faintly, as if it was alive. I raised my fist to knock as we got closer, but before I could, the door opened on its own.It was dark inside and I couldn't see a thing. Then I heard someone’s voice from the darkness within. "Come in, Alpha of Crescent Moon."I paused, and glanced around. She certainly was something. She knew who I was. After I summoned enough courage, I entered and dragged Zion along with me.The only thing that lit the room was a sma
