ALPHA DENVER’S POVI never saw that coming. I was so sure I was going to keep Yara protected at all costs after the incident the previous night happened but I never thought that I would have to be wary of her so-called sister that she had begged me to let her live just weeks ago too. The anger that brewed inside me was only fueled when I saw Allison stab Yara. I just stood still by the stairs, without being able to move and I stared in shock at what just happened before me.Then I heard Amanda laugh from behind me where she sat on the floor after Yara flipped her over and I turned my attention to her.She looked so entertained after seeing Yara getting stabbed and her eyes twinkled with only pure evil in them.“I guess I didn't have to hire a hitman to kill her then. Even her family hates her,” she jeered and the last thread that was holding me back snapped.Growling with pure rage, I rushed toward her and I watched her eyes grow with fear when she saw me storming for her. She began
YARA’S POVThe place where I found myself was white. There was no beginning nor end and when I yelled for help, my voice only echoed so that meant I was alone. Fear began to cloud my heart as I looked around and I got confused about what to do. I didn’t know where I was, the place was empty and soulless and for a moment, I began to wonder if I was dead.I was dressed in an all-white garment from head to toe and when I checked the spot on my stomach where I got stabbed by Allison and there was nothing there. My skin was so spotless that it looked like I had never been injured in my entire life. I gasped in shock when I saw that and I didn’t know when tears began to sting behind my eyelids. I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t even think straight and I felt so helpless being in such a place.I felt stuck and imprisoned and after a while, my fear of such places began to devour me. I felt like I was hallucinating and could see images swirling around above my head while they called my name
YARA’S POVThe physician carried one last check-up on me after my wound mysteriously healed and in his state of shock, he said I was free to go since I was completely fine. Together with Freya and alpha Denver, I was taken to his room and he sat me down on his bed while Freya closed the door.“What happened Yara? How did your wound get to heal just like that?” he asked me in a frenzy as he itched to get answers and I watched him for a while. I was the only one that could tell him that his pack was in a looming danger that was coming sooner than we expected and he had to get ready for it.“You have to call down first and listen to me, Denver. This is serious” I said to him and he tucked his hands into his pocket while watching me and waiting. I kept my eyes on him to let him know I meant what I was saying and he finally sat down to listen. I looked at Freya who stood by the door and I nudged her over to join us since she was obviously on our side so she came over and sat down on one
LUNA AMANDA’S POVI had been locked up for the past three days inside my room and I was beginning to lose my mind gradually as the days wore on. My nose was still aching badly from the punches Alpha Denver gave to me days ago and I hadn’t been attended to by the palace’s physician yet. My lunch was passed to me from beneath the door like I was a prisoner and when I had demanded that I wanted a maid to attend to me, they all said the same thing… Alpha Denver had ordered that no one open the door for me.To make matters worse, he didn’t bother apologizing to me when he was supposed to. I was the one who was wronged because he cheated on me with a witch and he wasn’t going to say he was sorry? If he had apologized to me, then maybe I wouldn't have been so pissed and I would probably have let all he had done to me go but since he wanted to show he wasn’t wrong in any way, I was going to put him in his place and it was going to be soon.I grabbed the phone I had secretly hidden in my roo
YARA’S POVI thanked the guard who always kept watch by the palace dungeon after he opened the caged door for us and he nodded back at me with a polite smile before I walked into the dungeon along with Alpha Denver who was leading the way. There was an array of caged cells on both sides of the dungeon and there wasn’t a single ray of sunshine or light in there. I couldn’t help but wonder how it must have taken a toll on the prisoners mentally and that made me wonder if Allison was fine.I caught up with Alpha Denver who was walking faster and I held onto the tip of the sleeve of his shirt so I wouldn’t lose him. Then he looked back at me with a smile and I blushed. I wondered if it was crazy of me to be blushing in such a place so I quickly kept a straight face and we kept on walking in silence. A while passed and we still hadn’t gotten to Allison’s cell so I tugged on AlphaDenver’s shirt to get his attention and he looked at me.“Aren’t we there yet? This place is beginning to feel l
ALPHA DENVER’S POVI walked to the throne room with Yara right behind me and my head hurt so badly. It felt like I was getting pricked with a thousand needles in the brain and I imagined myself losing my mind due to the unbearable pain. I wished I hadn't gotten so close to Allison, then she wouldn’t have done this to me.Luna Amanda’s mother came for me immediately. I walked into the throne room and she grabbed me by the collar of my shirt with anger in her eyes but I was too focused on the fact that Yara was asking for her wings to care about Luna Amanda’s mother throwing a tantrum in my face. So I grabbed her by her hands and pulled them off my collar before I pushed her off me and she fell but I didn’t care.I walked to the throne and took my seat while Yara tried to help her up but she only yelled at her to keep her distance and Yara didn’t say a word as she let her go and came to join me where I sat. Then I watched Amanda’s father help her mother up before they came toward me an
YARA’S POVI didn’t know if I was supposed to be angry or if I should try and hold myself back because he was in pain. But he yelled at me. He wouldn’t talk about my wings and when I insisted, he decided to yell at me and that did it for me.I wasn’t going to stand back and let him yell at me for what was originally mine for no reason so I had to make him explain. I wanted to hear his side and know exactly why he wouldn’t give my wings back to me.So I followed him as he walked away from the throne room and I set my foot out to stop the door from shutting in my face when he walked into his room.“Make me understand, Denver. Tell me exactly why you don’t want to talk about returning my wings to me. Tell me why you don’t seem like you want to even give it to me at all” I yelled at him and he groaned with his head still palmed. He was still in pain and as much I cared, there was nothing I could do except he gave my wings back to me.“Yara, please, don’t” he began and I stomped my foot on
YARA’S POVIt had been two days since the fight I had with Alpha Denver and we didn’t speak to each other. I had been holed up in my room throughout without breakfast, lunch, or dinner and sometimes, in the middle of the night, I would hear him groaning and yelling out in pain and I knew it was because of the cursed poison that Allison cast on him.It was a struggle not to get up from my bed and go over to his room to check on him whenever he was having his headache episodes at night but I wondered if he even wanted me there with him. We told each other that we didn't trust each other and that alone was enough to destroy every atom of feeling that we had for each other. So what if I went to see him and then he told me that he didn’t want me around him? It was even going to hurt me more than I already felt and it would be unbearable. So I figured it was best to keep my distance. Especially since he didn’t mind enduring the pain rather than having me help him by returning my wings to me
