KEILAH

As the words hung in the air between us, I could feel the weight of their truth, and I waited with bated breath for his response, hoping against hope that somewhere within him, he would feel the echo of our bond despite the enchantment clouding his memory.

His eyes narrowed, suspicion clouding his gaze as he stepped closer. “You’re delusional,” he spat, his voice cold. “Get out before I make you.”

Pain tightened my throat, but I held my ground, refusing to let his words deter me. “I won't leave you, Ralph,” I whispered fiercely, my voice breaking with emotion. I knew he was still in there somewhere. The Ralph I first met was a merciless one who would have killed me by now because he couldn't bear to breathe the same air as any human. And I was a human standing in his room, claiming to be his mate, which would have made him berserk. Yet, he was playing it cool. This meant that despite Dahlia erasing his memory of me, a part of his mind still held onto me. “Even if you don’t reme

RALPHI stood under the head shower, letting the morning's cold water run over me, washing away the remnants of the night's restless sleep. The icy droplets pelted my skin, but they did little to numb the whirlwind of thoughts churning in my mind.I couldn’t shake the image of the human from my head. Her eyes, filled with a mixture of desperation and determination, haunted me. She had appeared out of nowhere, first in the ambulance, a place I couldn’t recall how I ended up in. Then, in my pack house, speaking words that sounded like nonsense. Claiming to be my mate, talking about a child. It made no sense. And yet…I gritted my teeth, my fists clenching at the memory. Who was she? How had she managed to stir such confusion and turmoil within me? Why did she affect me so deeply? Her scent, her voice, her presence—everything about her felt inexplicably familiar. And that was dangerous.I slammed my fist against the tiled wall, the sound echoing through the bathroom. This was madness.

KEILAH I hesitated, clutching the thread tightly. "This?" I asked, my voice wary. "What do you want with it?"The woman's eyes softened, but urgency lingered in her gaze. "It's a key," she explained, her voice gentle yet insistent. "Without it, I can not help you fully. Trust me, Keilah."The fact that she knew my name without an introduction should have alarmed me, but instead, it brought a strange sense of reassurance. Still, I couldn't ignore the nagging doubt that lingered. "How do I know I can trust you?"She stepped closer, the mist of the shower parting around her like a curtain. "Because I am the only one who can see the threads that bind your destiny to Ralph's. And because I want to help you untangle the mess Dahlia has made."I took a deep breath, weighing my options. Finally, I unwrapped the thread from my wrist and held it out to her. Her fingers brushed through mine A relieved smile crossed her face as she tied it around her wrist, and the transparency vanished, revea

KEILAHMy heart skipped a beat. "Excuse me, what? What did you say?" I whispered, barely able to believe the words. Her expression hardened as she nodded solemnly. Before I could process this revelation, Jay pulled up in a sleek black car. "Ready to go?" he asked, smiling warmly.I nodded, trying to compose myself. "Yes, thank you, Jay. I'll sit in the back if you don't mind," I said, wanting to sit near Deirdre for more information about what she’d just said."Of course," Jay replied. As we got into the car, Jay started the engine, and we began to drive away from the pack house. "Where to?" Jay asked, glancing at me in the rearview mirror."You need to drive away from the pack's territory first," I said, trying to sound casual. "After that, I'll be able to remember which way to Damien's property."Jay's grip on the steering wheel tightened, and he screeched the car to a sudden stop. He turned towards me, his eyes wide with shock. "Damien? You're going to meet Damien?" "Yes," I rep

RALPHI took a deep breath, trying to rein in my frustration. "Fine. We'll do it in front of everyone," I agreed reluctantly. "But know this, Benita. This changes nothing between us. You're only doing this to keep your status, and I'm only doing this to keep my wolf."Her smile faltered slightly, but she quickly regained her composure. "Of course, Alpha. I understand.""Good. Now leave me," I ordered, my tone brooking no argument. She hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked away, her posture stiff. I watched her retreating form, my mind still in turmoil. The human woman's face flashed in my thoughts once more, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her than met the eye.I made my way to Isabella's room, my steps hurried and determined. I knocked on her door, my patience wearing thin. When she didn't answer immediately, I pushed it open and stepped inside. She was standing by the window, her gaze distant."Isabella," I called softly, not wanting to startle her.

RALPHLater in the evening, the moon hung full and radiant in the midnight sky, casting a silver glow over the clearing where the pack had gathered. I stood tall with Benita beside me at the centre of the clearing, my gaze solemn yet filled with determination. Around us, the pack members assembled in a circle, their eyes gleaming with anticipation.Turning towards the pack, I addressed Benita, my voice carrying through the still night air. "Benita, as the Alpha of the Moonrise Pack, I choose you as my Luna, my equal and partner in leading our pack."Benita stepped forward, her eyes reflecting both excitement and reverence. "And I, Benita, accept this role willingly and vow to stand by your side, to lead with wisdom and compassion, to protect our pack with all that I am."I nodded, acknowledging her vows before making my own. "As Alpha, I vow to protect and cherish you, to honour our bond, and to lead our pack with strength and fairness."Benita stepped into the centre, and I could f

Damien's eyes were closed, his face buried in her hair as he whispered her name over and over, like a prayer. For a moment, I stood there, feeling like an intruder in their private reunion. I took a step back, giving them space, my mind racing with the implications of what I had just witnessed."Deirdre..." This was her room. She even changed me into one of her dresses, a short, delicate garment. I looked around, a dull headache throbbing at my temples. What the heck happened? Did I pass out from the pain? I wondered.I sat up slowly, my hand instinctively moving to my chest. The sharp, burning pain I had felt last night was gone, but a dull ache lingered. I brought my hand to my neck, touching the spot where Ralph’s mark was. As my fingers brushed against it, a strange sensation pulsed through me—a mix of warmth and sadness.Memories from the previous night flooded back. I recalled Dahlia's revelation that Ralph was sleeping with Benita. The thought made my chest tighten again, as if the pain was threatening to return. KEILAH I tugged at Ralph’s hand, trying to pull him toward the ice cream shop. The brightly colored sign above the door read "Scoops & Smiles," and the kids were laughing inside, faces smeared with chocolate and sprinkles. The sweet aroma of freshly made waffle cones and creamy scoops of different flavours filled the air, and I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of indulging in a little treat. But Ralph, as always, resisted. "Come on, Ralph," I urged, trying to keep the frustration out of my voice. "It’s just ice cream. It’ll be fun!" He glanced at the brightly colored sign above the shop, then back at me, his expression impassive. "Mate, this kind of ice cream eating is for kids and teenagers," he replied, his tone calm but firm. "Not for someone like me." I stopped pulling and let go of his hand, the sudden release leaving my fingers tingling. My heart sank as I took in his stoic face, the same face that had ruined every date we’d tried to have in the past few months. It

RALPH I shifted back to my human form, blood dripping from the gashes Zac had left. My heart pounded not from exertion but from the panic twisting in my chest. I need to find Keilah. The sound of approaching footsteps made me halt for a moment, and when I turned, it was Alexander and other council members marching towards me. As they reached me, Alexander stepped forward, his gaze piercing and authoritative. "Go get your mate and your pack, Ralph," he commanded, his voice low but firm. "And get out of this place.” I nodded, my throat too tight to speak. As Alexander turned to leave, he placed a firm hand on my shoulder, a silent gesture of understanding and urgency. Then, without another moment’s hesitation, I bolted out of the ring and dashed through the cave, my heart pounding as I searched for Keilah. Keilah, I called out through the mindlink, desperately trying to connect with her. But there was no response. My heart clenched, fear tightening around my chest like a vice. Kei

RALPH I stared at Keilah, my heart pounding in my chest, torn between rage and panic as the echoes of the crowd’s gasps faded into the background. What was she thinking? The jug clanged as it hit the ground, and in that moment, I snapped out of my stupor. Without another thought, I moved forward, grabbing her arm and spinning her around to face me. “What the hell are you thinking?” I demanded, my voice low and intense, my eyes searching hers for an explanation. “Do you have any idea what you just did?” Her eyes met mine, and for a split second, I saw something in them—determination mixed with fear. But before I could process it, she broke into a laugh. It was forced, brittle, the sound of someone trying desperately to mask their true emotions. “Oh my God,” she gasped, clutching her stomach as if the whole thing were some sort of joke. “What did I just drink? I was so thirsty… I thought it was water, but whatever that was—ugh! It tastes awful! I hope I’m not going to die from it.”

KEILAH I stared at Damien, my mind whirling with a thousand thoughts. His sudden appearance left me speechless, and the raw intensity in his eyes sent another shiver down my spine. The anger in his voice cut through the night air, sharp and cold. My heart pounded in my chest as I struggled to find the words to explain myself. “I—I saw something,” I finally managed to stammer, my voice trembling. “Those men… they were up to something, and I had to know what it was.” “And did you find out what it was?” he demanded, his voice sharp, cutting through the darkness. The fury in his tone was unmistakable, and it sent a fresh wave of unease through me. I swallowed hard, trying to steady myself. “I was about to, but… things didn’t go my way,” I admitted, the frustration in my voice matching my racing thoughts. I could still see the shadows moving in the forest, the broad man’s hand holding the gold jug, the council member’s secretive actions. It was all so close, and yet I had nothing to s

KEILAH As we stepped into the cave, my breath caught in my throat. My mouth hung open in awe as I took in the sight before me. The cave was enormous, far larger than I could have imagined from the outside. It felt like an underground stadium, its sheer size making me feel small and insignificant. The walls stretched high above us, and the ceiling arched into a vast dome that seemed to go on forever. In the centre of the cave, where I expected to see some sort of battle ring, there was only an open space, secured by heavy steel chains forming a loose boundary. The ground was covered in sand, giving it the appearance of an arena, yet it felt unfinished, as if something crucial was missing. The emptiness of the ring added to the unsettling atmosphere, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding. As we walked further inside, I noticed the variety of packs gathered around. Some were chatting quietly among themselves, while others stood in groups, their eyes trained on us. The t

His eyes were searching, full of worry. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. “No, not exactly. It’s just… the pack members in the kitchen, they—” I faltered, struggling to find the right words. “They were being kind of creepy.”Ralph’s brow furrowed in confusion. “Creepy? How?”Before I could respond, one of the men cleared his throat. “I’ll go check on my Luna,” he said, heading off toward the house, while the other took a different route.I continued, my voice trembling slightly. “They were acting all concerned and sympathetic, which felt strange. It’s like they suddenly cared, and it threw me off.”Where have you gone, too? I was worried. I asked, not wanting to
