The day my school's principal called me into his office to have a word with me, I knew it wasn't good news, and somehow I'd seen it coming.

There was no hiding it as the rumors had been going on around the school, fast spreading like wildfire. The famous Lobos Samuel Curtez had been killed at his own party. Samuel Curtez was the world's biggest nuisance and the country's most wanted criminal. He was New York's head of the popular 'zolo' mafia gang, taking after his late father, Carlos Curtez, who had terrorised and shaken up the world in the same manner.

Samuel Curtez was rumored to run the largest drug moving organization in fifteen different countries. Last semester, Katy hadn't resumed school with us and when she was asked, she said her sister went missing and that she overhead her parents saying Samuel Curtez had kidnapped her from the rail road but they didn't want it to go out.

Samuel Curtez, the most notorious criminal ever recorded and ever wanted in history. I couldn't imagine what it's like to stand in front of him. I would probably die from his hard glares.

I've only heard stories about him, and that was enough. And now as I walked into Mr. Henderson's office and watched him give me a tender smile, I knew what it was about. Samuel Curtez, the latest talk of the whole city.

My father had found a way to sneak in a burner phone like he always did when he wanted us to have a 'private talk' and ha whisper warned me not to say anything if the Feds came to my school. And I'm smart enough to know that that goes for anybody else here, including Mr. Henderson.

"Good morning, Rose. Have a seat." The pretense in his eyes is not even hidden.

I sat down carefully and watched him.

" I'll go straight to the point, Valdez, I'm gonna have to give you a temporary suspension. " he said.

"Suspension? Why? I didn't do anything. " I said.

"No, Rose, you're a good kid, but as you might have heard, there's been an investigation going on around here. Samuel Curtez. He died. Last night. " He said.

I shifted in my seat, my great attempt to look surprised. "Really? What happened?" I asked him.

"I know you know exactly what happened, Valdez, and now your father's men will be here any minute. He asked for your immediate return home." The principal said.

"Return home? Why?" I asked, now confused.

He spread his arms and replied, "There's a rumor going on that your father may have had a hand in his murder."

My eyes went wide. So that's why he asked me not to say anything if the Feds came to the school.

"Listen, Valdez, I've known your whole family even before you were born, and I know the kind of shit you all do. So the best I can do is send you home where you'll be safe. You'll be picked up soon. Now, if you need anything, I think now's the right time to go pick them up." He said to me.

I watched him for a while, trying to understand all he had just said. Why would my father be involved with Samuel Curtez in the first place? Is someone trying to frame him? And what did he just mean by he knew the shit my family does?

In the next few minutes, I was on my way home, breathing in the air of New York again. But unlike the other few times I've visited from school, I wasn't so excited.

Once the car pulled up, I didn't wait for the bodyguard to pull the door open for me, I sped out and hurried up the stone steps that led to my doorstep. As soon as I furiously pushed the door open, I'm met with a completely different scene from what I had in my mind.

Then I had a quick flashback to the many sparkly black cars parked around my house, which I'd been too furious to even pay attention to.

At the front of the fireplace stood a tall man, his hair tinted blond on one side, his chin held high, the smoke from the cigarette stuck between his lips colliding with the sunrays that seeped in through the window, obstructing my view of his face. He had on a black suits but he was beside the point right now.

Besides him, there were many other men dressed in suits surrounding every corner of the room. And in the middle of them all sat my father, his blond goatie pointing directly at me as I walked in.

"Rosella, you're home." My father spoke, causing me to look at him again.

"Dad? What's going on here?" I asked slowly as I gently set down my backpack on the couch. I'd completely put my rage behind me as I watched all the men that surrounded us, all looking like they were going to grab me soon and kidnap me, just like in those movies.

At the back of my mind, I knew none of this mattered, because the most important thing right now is getting answers to my questions about all Mr Henderson said about our family and how he was involved with the most wanted criminal in the whole world.

My father rose up before I could reach him and said, "Rose, I want you to meet someone very important." I watched as he turned towards the fireplace, to the man with a black tinted hair, drowning in his cigarette and eying me like he had never seen a female his whole life.

"Meet Samuel Curtez. " My father adds

My jaw dropped as my eyes quickly went back to him, and he gave me a smirk before popping a smoke from his cigarette towards me.

My eyes moved back to my father, and he nodded gently. I must be staring at his ghost, right?

"I have something else to tell you, Rose," my father said, a bit of a worry in his face. "I made a deal with Samuel Curtez on your behalf. "

My heart sank.

My heart drummed loudly inside my chest. The hairs at the back of my neck stood out. Sweat quickly formed on my skin, which I soon realised was goosebumps. At the tips of my fingers, it felt like tiny needles were prickling them. They were all fear. And surprise. Fear of what was to come out next. Fear of what I knew my father was going to say."Rose," my father called gently "You're coming with me, girl." Samuel Curtez cuts my father off, causing me to snap my head towards him.He had a grim look on his face and a cornered grin on his lips. Why did he look like that? Why was he so amused? Well, I did look like someone who was about to wet her pants because I couldn't believe what he had just said. Coming with him?I looked back at my father for an explanation. "Listen, Rose, you are better off with him. We made an arrangement, and he will take you right away. I am protecting you." My father rushed.I'd thought I couldn't talk. For a second, I couldn't even move my lips. They c

I took two steps back and tried to steady my breathing. My phone. I needed my phone. I hurried back to the bed and picked the pillows out. Nothing. That was when I sighted a green telephone seated on the bed stand. A telephone? Why was a telephone there? This all makes sense now. The large balcony with a beautiful view outside overlooking the city. This was a hotel. A fucking exotic hotel at that. Quickly, I picked up the telephone receiver and punched in the only number in my head. Kimberly's. Kimberly was the only thing I had closest to a friend in school. Although we never do activities friends are supposed to do together as friends, I did have her number. I punched on dial and the call just beeped twice and that's it. The call disconnected. I tried again and again and the telephone just seemed to be dead. After a while I slowly walked out of the room until I reached an elevator. All the other buttons didn't work except the button for the next floor above. I know it was a b

The commotion inside the room stopped except for Matteo, who was still shouting lewd suggestions of what Samuel could do to me. Yes ,I got to know the younger looking guy's name was Matteo when he wouldn't stop laughing as he saw me, and Samuel had to call him out on it. “Shut up, Matteo, and go find a whore to fuck,” Samuel said, his eyes still fixed on me. Silence reigned outside. My eyes wandered toward the king-sized bed in the center of the room and terror gripped me. Samuel had his own whore to fuck every night and until the end of days. The price for my body hadn’t been paid in money, but it might as well have been. I wrapped my arms around my middle, trying to quench my panic. Samuel walked around thr table and reached me with a predatory look on his face. My legs turned weak. Maybe if I fainted, I’d be spared, and even if he didn’t care if I was conscious and took me anyway, at least I wouldn’t remember anything. He thrust his jacket over the armchair next to

Rose's P.O.V. I heard faint noises all around me each time I went in and out of consciousness. Pain struck my entire body. My body was still pressed onto Samuel's as he shielded me, protecting me. I passed out a few times, only jolting back with every gun shut sound that exploded in the air. At some point I found breathing hard and all I wanted to do was just make the pains go away. "This isn't a game, Curtez!" I heard a deep, intimidating voice from a distance I couldn't pin point. My mind was clogged. Who were these men shooting at us? Did they ambush us with the accident? My heart picked race at the possibility of losing my life. I know being with this man was the last thing I wanted for myself but dying this way was no preference to being with him. Samuel's arm circles around my side again and I looked up to see his hardened jawline as he focused ahead, one hand bearing a gun pointed out to the front from behind the Summersaulted car.

Rose's P. O. V. I didn't see Samuel for the rest of that day. Not that I was in any shape to be worried about him returning home that night or not, because I only realized he hadn't come back two days later. I wasn't fully recovered but when I could finally get off the bed whilst wincing in pain for every step that I took, Camille informed me he hadn't come back that day and only returned a day after. "My guess is that he didn't come straight to see you because he didn't want to look so awful in front of you." Camilla had said. I wondered why she would say that. How she would feel so comfortable saying something like that to me when she was clearly the one in his bed every night. The fourth day after the accident, I stood in my room, watching the balcony from the locked glass doors. Uptill now, I still wasn't allowed out of this room, not even out into its balcony. Did they seriously think I would jump off that balcony?

To my surprise, the man carrying me took me inside an elevator, not my room. He sets me down before punching on the elevator buttons. Seconds later, I was busting out on a rooftop. I noticed a table at the center of the rooftop. The place looked to be an open balcony, a swimming pool at one side close to the table. I noticed there's a bunch of flowers on a pot in the middle of the table, along with empty white plates on either side of the table, spoons on white clothes next and a campaign in the middle, with tall glasses. Samuel Curtez stood with his back turned to me, his face turned towards the city as he watched. One the man set me down, he disappeared from behind me, leaving me alone with Samuel. He turned around in time for me to see a fat cigarette between his lips. He drags it and pulled it out with two of his right fingers, then puffed the smoke into the air. My father was a smoker, maybe an addict

Before William Grasso stood Martin Carozza, his old acquaintance and friend in the mafia business. Martin Carozza was older than William both in age and in looks. After everything I did to her the other day, I'm still not able to look her in the face and I'm not so sure I can look at her right now. She probably hates me right now and I didn't blame her. She thinks I'm a monster and she's right. I've done too many horrible things that I lost count of them. I have killed people that didn't deserve to die, people who knelt and begged for their lives but I still put them down. I have betrayed people who trusted me. And now I hurt Rose. I knew she hated me. The only thing that I can think of doing right now was getting her out of here. I was supposed to get out of here so word doesn't get out that I'm still alive. But now, I wanted to do it for Rose. I felt sorry for what I did to her and I wanted to show her how sorry I am. Getting her to a new place would be a

I felt my body raise up inside the car as it went up and off the road. I held tightly to the chair, Camille's hand tightly on the steering wheel. Everything happened so fast. One time I was hitting my back against the car as it went up and off the road, the next I'm being thrown forward as the car made contact with the road again. I'm able to stop myself from reaching the front glass shield and crashing right through it as I quickly pressed my feet on the dashboard. The next thing I saw was the door going off the road as Camille lost total control and the car started to summersault. I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. All I felt was the constant tumble and all the foreign pain that struck my body before everything stopped. I tried to move my body as all the chaos stopped but I couldn't. Every inch of my body hurt. After a moment of just laying down there, I tried to peel my eyes open. I saw smoke in the sky. I l

Roselle's P O V. I stood next to my door window the entire day until dusk sets in. Camille has been around the entire day keeping me company. Samuel never showed up and it was just better that way. Some minutes ago, Camille had informed me about the shortage of food and that he would like to drive down the grocery store to buy some things. I thought quickly in that instant. I still haven't seen any guards since the last time I was here. The only person appearing to be in this house with me after doctor Eugene left was Camille alone. If I wanted to leave, this was the perfect time to do so and I had the best plan. Camille didn't sleep here. She merely just comes around to attend to me and leave. I expected that she probably has a car that she drives in and out in every day. "Um.... Please can you please make me some coffee?" Samuel's P. O. V. I puffed out the smoke from my cigarette and drank from the glass of alcohol in my other hand before staring into the dark night. I watched the city from the hotel balcony as I waited for Matteo to meet with me. We had a lot to finish. After taking Roselle back to the house, I had to leave immediately because I couldn't get rid of this guilt I was feeling. I felt like an idiot going off on her like that. She crossed a line when she slapped me but that didn't warrant me hitting her like that and even locking her in there for days. After putting her inside the bathroom, I couldn't stand myself so I left. I didn't know why I did that but I knew that I needed some time alone to cook myself after speaking with Matteo. I remember Matteo meeting me at a casino as I started drinking. "Hey hey slow down a bit, will ya?" Matteo had said as he grabbed a

I continued to wake and pass back into unconsciousness a few times. Sometimes the bright light hurt my eyes, sometimes I'm met with a pitch darkness. I found myself drifting away once in a while until I felt the stinging sensation in my throat. I woke up feeling dehydrated. My lips hurt from being so dry and my throat felt soar. I found myself still laid on the now wet floor of the bathroom. My hair was damp and smeared on my head and forehead. My body was soaked in water, my shirt and sweatpants dampen. I didn't know how I managed to get all this water on my body. The bright light burned my eyes so I squint my eyes as I strained them towards the door. Only when I tried to move closer to the door did I find that I didn't have any strength in me. I didn't know how long I've been in this bathroom but as I tried to remember how I ended up here, I felt the memory being too distant to me. This looked like a completely different side of the house that I've never seen before. The living room is much wider and beautiful, the color of the decor and the walls mature, all a mixture of milky coffee and white with a hint of grey. I wondered if this was his side of the house. He pulls me across the living room towards the wide stairs at the side. "Where are you taking me?" I asked him curiously.
