My father wished us goodnight as the evening drew to a close, his tired eyes displaying the weight of the previous day's conversations. As the nanny took Heaven to her room to get her ready for bed, the old routine took over. When I was left alone with Angel, I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety growing inside of me.
