MALCOLM

I made myself comfortable on the floor and leaned against the door. I tossed my tie somewhere and drew my knees up as I waited patiently, listening to her sniffs and silent cries that made my heart tighten.

"Marilyn, just open the door," Louise groaned impatiently where she stood at a distance. "Fuck! I have a terrible headache."

"Leave me alone!" came the voice. "Just go away and forget about me. I'll stay here and die. Maybe then you two won’t have a reason to make this family work anymore."

That was the last thing I wanted.

"Oh, baby, you know that's not true," Louise slurred, staggering to come closer. "I know your father is pissing us both off but he can-"

My nostrils flared in anger, " Stop saying that. Now is not the time."

Completely ignoring me, she continued, leaning against the door for assistance, "We're not getting a divorce nor is your father abandoning us for some other bitch-"

"Louise!" I scolded, shocked she would act so foolish and before our little girl.

CAROLINE ‘There’s nothing like spending quality time with family after a long day at work.’ Louise posted and oh the blogs have been going crazy. ‘Strong and unbreakable,’ the press called them. A photo of Malcolm, Marilyn and Louise taking an evening stroll and a late night shopping was all over the Internet and in my face too. I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled– ugh! Wasn't anyone interested in the country anymore? They looked happy in the photo. Marilyn was wearing her biggest smile sitting between Louise who was doing the same and her father who, well, wore a small smile with his eyes closed and a relaxed look on his face. He looked happy. They all did. What happened to divorcing her, huh? Didn't he promise he'd end it with her and chase after me? Was he giving up so fast? Where's the fun in that? He didn't make me plot against him for nothing, now did he? Just when I was starting to entertain the thought of using him for myself one way or the other. But what role would

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   1. The End of Us

CAROLINEMother, Father, I've married an older man.His smile sends the bad days away. His touch is like silk and cotton. He smells fresh and young - perhaps that's what makes it so right despite the thirteen years difference. He looks at me like I'm his most prized possession. He showers it all on me- his money, his love, kisses, affection and his dick too. He's never stingy with it- especially the last one.I am… happy. I am… so happy.I was… happy."What do you mean… a divorce?" with each word my voice shook into a whisper as tears blur my vision and teardrops fell onto the papers I held with a tight grip.I lift my head to him causing the tears to roll down my cheek. His serious and pointed look drives my heart further into panic. I wish he would suddenly burst out laughing and tease me that it was only a joke.I won't make him beg too much about pulling a prank too seriously. I'll even suck him off and fuck him back to his senses-- I-I'd take anything… please…?Malcolm sighs and

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   2. Caroline Quinn

MALCOLMFLASHBACKI folded my arms in my robes as I watched her set the table. The way her hands fumbled, I could tell she was nervous. She was a hotel staff and she was assigned to my room. The way she moved so fast, I knew she couldn't wait to get out of here."I'm all done, sir," she mumbled and stood aside, keeping her eyes on the floor. I didn't say a word as I took my time staring at her instead. Her black hair was swept over one side of her face, falling on her shoulders and as usual, the brown short sleeve and pants uniform looked beautiful on her body."Caroline," I called her name on a sigh as I loosened my tie. "Why won't you talk to me?" I didn't like her silence. Especially when I knew she had something to say. Her lips were trembling and her eyes were filled with tears. "Come here, Caroline." But I end up moving close to her and grabbing her chin. She tried to look away but I didn't let her and it only made her cry further. Her shoulders trembled as she sobbed and I trie

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   3. I'm Yours

MALCOLMMy jaw is still hanging loose as I watch her hug Madam Quinn who is wearing a large proud smile. I'm not the only one in shock as Edward is frozen at the scene watching his mother welcome someone else to his rightful position."W-W-What is the meaning of this, mother!" Edward screamed, frowning at them both. "This is ridiculous! Who is she? You only have one grandchild-""Shut up, will you?" Madam Quinn glared at her older son and only son, might I add. I still can't take my eyes off my ex-wife. Her skin is glowing in that red dress, her neck is bedecked with white pearls and beautiful earrings. She screams money and luxury. Her eyes are easy as she stares at Edward with a taunting smile on her lips. When she walks forward, I can't help but take a loud gulp. She has always been sexy but right now, her sexiness exceeded the charts. Even her steps carry grace and class."Uncle Edward," she says much to my surprise and everyone else's. "It's such a pleasure to finally meet you-"

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   4. Desperate Eyes

CAROLINEWhy does he stare at me with so much… anger in his eyes and why does it make my heart pound?I stare back, unable to break contact. Those eyes are piercing, enough to have one's feet glued to the floor. His whole face is scowling and I can't pinpoint why.It almost looks like he knows me and has harboured so much hate for a long, very long time.Once the words leave my lips, he's taken by surprise before scowling again as hard as ever and that's when I notice it; his eyes aren't trained at me. They are on my phone. Is it irritation of seeing me again or… jealousy over what I've just said? No, it can’t be the latter. The man staring at me is… handsome. He looks more advanced and even handsome than his photos. His hair has more streaks of grey and there's little to no wrinkles on his face. I would believe him if he said he had Botox done but I know the handsome face I'm staring at hasn't been touched-- unless, of course, by his wife- Louise… that's her name, right?I wouldn't k

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   5. Divorce

MALCOLMThe smirk on her lips doesn't disappear and when she lifts her shoulder in a shrug, that's when I break out of her enchantment. Does she think this is a joke? Weeks of worry that turned into years finally roll into me again and I'm burning with annoyance.I grab her by the shoulder, wishing to desperately lock her up and throw away the fucking keys! How the fuck can she still smile after pulling such a cheap tantrum as that? Feigning memory loss after showing up from her mysterious journey to only God knows where!I can't control my anger but I sure as hell don't grip her too tight. She looks fragile and delicate but when she glances at my hand on her shoulder, she blinks at me with so much class that you'd think she was born for this role."Caroline!" I yell, ignoring the harsh tone of my voice. Contrary to my yell, she doesn't flinch as much as my outburst or even frown. She's watching me with interested eyes, waiting to see what I'd do next. There's something about that loo

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   6. Please stop following my car...

CAROLINEI can't get that face out of my head as I go through the rest of the night by my grandmother's side with a smile plastered on my face. I have to wear this smile and act like I don't want to disappear into a hole and hide inside a hole but I've long decided that I'm way past hiding from my problems.I still bear the scars at my back to prove that thanks, grandma."Caroline dear," Madam Quinn says and I turn my neck to give her my attention. She's not looking at me but that doesn't mean she's not seeing me. "You're stiff, dear.'' Her voice is light and humorous with pride and that makes me tense. "What's wrong?""Nothing at all. I guess I'm just a little tired," I lie. "My head is spinning from all the names and faces I've recorded-""Pay attention to every one of them," she interrupts and sets her levelled eyes on the guests around. "You'll need them as well as they'll need you.""Yes, grandmother."Her lips curl in a smile and she's turning to me to grin, "You are one I have

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   7. Go Back

CAROLINE We're pulling over once we get to the mansion and I step down. "Drop Susan back home safely," I tell my driver and my assistant looks at me with worry on her face while I smile back, my default setting as the car drives off. I hear his footsteps before I turn to see him storming towards me. Once he gets closer, he grabs my shoulders and he looks concerned immediately. "Are you alright? Did you get hurt?" Malcolm asks, searching my gaze with worry in his face. His expression is foreign to me and that concern in his voice but I can't lie, they do make him look very good. Now all that's left is for him to drop on his knees crying and pleading for all-- ah, let's not get carried away. I hope my poker face is okay. "I'm fine," I take a step back and his arms fall from my shoulders. I draw in a deep breath, it's hard to catch a break from his touchy hands. "You didn't need to come all the way here," I tell him. "I already called the cops-" "I got here faster," he points out w

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   24. Malcolm

MALCOLMI stared at the recent photo of Caroline leaving the hospital like she went in for a fashion show. She covered up nicely-- the turtle neck said it all. Smirking, I knocked on the window and my car door was pulled open.I should send her flowers for speedy recovery but knowing her, she'd send it right back with a little note of her own. At least I'll get a handwritten note-- if she's being nice. It would piss her off but I enjoyed the little human reactions I got instead of nothing. How could I interpret and get through to nothing?"Is Louise home?" I asked Caleb once he opened the door."Yes, sir. She arrived a few minutes ago," he reported."Her whereabouts?""Breakfast with her friends and some shopping.""Keep a closer eye on her and those friends. Her father's been really quiet these days and I don't like it," it was unlike him to let everyone run on the chess piece and refuse to take a step."Yes, sir."Speaking of the devil, she stepped out in a skin tight red dress, sho

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   23. CAROLINE

CAROLINEI rolled my eyes with an exasperated sigh. What wa he getting at now? Miss me? After leaving a hickey on my neck, he sure had some explaining to do.The loud sound sure sounded like a gunshot. Marilyn had always been into video games and as the years rolled by, they only got more aggressive and loud. I believed it was her way of channeling her inner hatred-- for me and everyone else."Don't call me that."He chuckled and I could imagine the smirk on his face."Last night…""… nothing happened, Caroline."Oh, he already knew why I called. "I find that very hard to believe seeing as…" Susan was at one corner of the room mixing my tea, paying absolutely no mind to my conversation but I lowered my voice before saying, "You left something on my shoulder."He laughed richly, "Come on, Caroline. If something did happen, you’d know. Your body wouldn't forget so easily and so soon."He was not wrong but that did not make this conversation less embarrassing and annoying."In simple wor

MALCOLM"Don't stop touching me." Those words were my undoing. I thought I was doing a good job holding back and keeping my hands to myself but her cry face as she pressed her cheek into my palm went straight to my dormant cock.Even after all this time I was still attracted to her.I knew the inner workings of her body and a part of me was tempted to test it all out again.Did she still react the same way when her nipples were played with and sucked? Her neck nibbled on and softly bitten. Did she shiver and gasp from just tracing my hand down her spine?Fuck! How else would she know if she hadn't been with someone else? She moaned softly, grinding her hips to nothing. She pushed my hands lower and I stroked a finger over her soft bottom lip. Frustrated tears leaked from her eyes as she whispered, "Please…""Caroline," I cupped her cheek, memories of our time together playing back in my mind and a fond flame of unchained desire rose up in my chest."Mmm.""Fuck," I unfastened my seatb

CAROLINEThe door opened and I released a breath, squared my shoulders as she walked in. her eagle eyes scanned my face and my body as she walked in. The soft thud of her walking stick approaching closer and closer made me hold my breath."Welcome, grandmother-""Tsk tsk! Look what they've done to you," she sighed, shaking her head. Was that disappointment in her voice? She didn't look concerned about me one bit."I'm fine-""You better be," she narrowed her eyes, making me tense. "The public cannot smell your weakness. You'll resume work on Monday. They need to see that they cannot get rid of you.""Yes." I glanced at Susan who jerked immediately, developed two left feet as she seemed confused on how to walk out of the room. She hurried out, leaving grandmother and I alone. I hated the silence but dreaded her next words."That man…"Here it comes."How did he get his hands on you?"I explained the situation to where I remembered. "Susan couldn't leave so Mr. York asked her to meet us

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   20. The Photo

CAROLINEI opened my eyes to a pounding headache and groaned at the bright lights. The ceiling was unfamiliar and the beeping sound in the room made me scowl.Someone turn that off!"Susan," I struggled to sit and heard footsteps rush towards me."Thank God you're awake!" she sobbed in between, grabbing my shoulders gently and helping me sit. She arranged the pillows behind my back."Water," my throat was dry like I just walked through a dessert. She handed me a glass and I drank quickly, almost choking."Take it easy. I was so worried."I looked around the private room, wondering how I got here. I couldn't remember anything after I stepped out into the hall trying to get away from Malcolm."What happened? My head feels so light. I feel like I skipped a huge chunk of my memory." I pushed my hair back and leaned against the pillows. "Where were you?""I am so sorry, Caroline. I couldn't get away from the guests. They all wanted to schedule a meeting and even after I explained that it w

  • TAKE ME BACK, DEAR EX WIFE   19. Snap out of it, Caroline

CAROLINE What followed next was a series of head banging on the wall, punches, teeth falling off and screams that made me second-guess their gender. Their ear-piercing scream almost deafened my ears. I had sagged to the floor when he grabbed the one kissing me and slammed him hard against the nearest wall and he had been going on for close to ten minutes now. His rage was unstoppable but concerning for me. I couldn't have a scandal to my name. Grandmother would never let me off easy. Where the heck was Susan? How long did it take to bring the car around? I tried to push myself up and with my hand on the wall I started to stagger out of there, not sparing a glance behind. Malcom's grunts and groans as he punched them over and over again filled me with fear but I didn't turn around. Before anyone would walk in and try to make a scene out of this, I'd be long gone and out of the picture. "Don't you ever put your hands on her again!" His voice vibrated through the halls. The door

CAROLINE "There you are," Susan rushed towards me with a worried look on her face as she searched my eyes. "Are you alright? Did you get lost?" "No," I got carried away and when I came to, I had to look in the mirror and make sure there was no shaken resolve showing on my face. I grabbed a drink from a waiter as soon as I stepped out of the guestroom. He was heading in Malcolm's direction. It seemed his drinking habits hadn't changed. That man could drink a whole bar down and still ask for more. It was an irritating behaviour that I tried my best to curb but it seems he snapped right back into it when I was gone. "Miss Patterson has been laughing and jollying all night," Susan said and stood by my side as I looked around for the woman. "She's going about giving everyone hope with that smile. Ha! She says "may the best man win." "It's fair game, Susan. We just need to do our best." my best wasn't going to be enough here. I'd need to do everything I can. Grandma had her eyes on tha
