"Our home..." Jethro gently repeated, his gaze filled with deep affection and sentiment as he looked at Emma.

But in the face of this man's tenderness, Emma felt only disdain and pretense. She was not foolish enough to not recognize how cunning and ruthless this man was. She couldn't understand why he was so stubbornly fixated on her.

So stubborn that he followed her and Harvey all the way to the restaurant just to sow seeds of discord between her and Harvey. Emma suddenly burst into laughter, realizing that if it weren't for Jethro's presence, she would have been led astray by Harvey like a fool.

"Thank you, Jethro. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known how Harvey deceived me." Emma spoke, her voice muffled by the sound of rain and howling wind.

Jethro remained silent, knowing that she wasn't genuinely grateful but rather mocking him. He attempted to take off his coat to cover her, but Emma pushed him away.
