Chapter 25 A Gesture of Goodwill

Sigrid's face turned red, but she was also grateful for George's good sense. If he was not rational, he might have ordered the driver to leave the car and did whatever he wanted to with Sigrid.

"You must have something to do in the study, don't you? Don't worry about me, go ahead." She sat on the bed and turned on the TV, looking for a program she was interested in.

George was not as easy to kick out of the room as she thought. He lay down directly beside her and said, "I have no work to deal with while I'm on marriage leave."

"But you were in the study before..." Sigrid looked at him doubtfully. After Rebecca left, he had remained alone in the study for more than an hour. If he had nothing to deal with, he would not have stayed in the study for an hour.
