I arrived at the soccer field, and take out my soccer equipment from my bag. I notice that I'm the only girl here. Great...
As I tie my shoelaces, I hear someone say:
"Oooh, so that's the girl playing soccer. Man she's hot," I look up and see a group of 4 men, staring at me, all smirking except for one.
"Fuck you," I mutter, taking my shin guards out of my bag. They all chuckle, except for one, who just stared at me.
"Pretty little mouths like yours shouldn't curse like that," Another one of the men says.
"Well I'd like to fuck you too..." Another one says with a creepy smile while walking closer towards me. I quickly grab a dagger from my bag and throw it at him. It goes through his leg, making him fall down, groaning in pain.
"Shit..." I mutter. That was the worst throw ever. Well, I haven't practiced my knife throwing in a while...
"Hey, you have no right to attack us like this!" The man that was just staring at me says. I roll my eyes.
"Actually I do. I'm allowed to attack anyone if I'm defending myself," I say. The 2 other men help the man with the dagger in his leg up, bringing him somewhere else, leaving me alone with this creepy dude.
"I, Prince Gabriel Daemon Lupa, hereby reject you as my mate," he says. Is this a dream? I don't have to reject my mate, HE JUST REJECTED ME! I pinch myself, just to make sure.
"Omigosh yes! Thank you! I accept your rejection! Yes, yes, yes!!!" I cry out joyfully, doing a little victory dance. He looks a bit surprised.
"Why are you so happy?" He asks.
"Because I'm freeee!" I exclaim.He just stares at me, with an unreadable expression on his face.
"Yo, what time is it?" I ask him. He glances at his watch.
"4:50," he states. My eyes widen in shock.
The match starts in 10 minutes! I quickly grab my bag and dash to my coach, leaving my ex-mate behind. Ex-mate... Such a lovely word... And I didn't even have to anything... This is basically the best day ever.
Gabriel:
I take a deep breath as she runs towards her coach. She smells amazing... Like passion fruit and citrus ... Mmm... She's so beautiful... Wait no. I mean she is pretty hot... No no no. I did get pretty angry when my Beta called her hot though... No, what am I saying?? I don't want a mate. Mates only make you weaker. I don't want to be weak.
"But I want a mate," My wolf, Gavin says. I ignore him. "Why did you reject her? You don't even know her name..."
"I rejected her because I don't want a mate. I don't want to be weak... And I always dreamt my mate would have green eyes. Her eyes are brown."
"Mates don't make you weak... In fact, they make you stronger. Now that you rejected her, you'll be weak..." He says.
"And I thought she'd have green eyes too... But brown eyes are ok..."
Green is my favorite color. I always had a strange vision that my mate would have green eyes... No, I don't want a mate. I don't want to be weak.
"I don't want a mate," I respond, blocking off the mind-link.
Grayson:
"He rejected us..." My wolf, Grace says.
"So cry yourself a river, build a bridge, and GET OVER IT!" I reply. I was currently changing into my soccer clothes.
"I mean, he wasn't even that hot anyway..."
"We both know he's sexy as hell... He's basically a fucking God..." Grace states.
"Ok fine, I'll give you that. But he doesn't deserve us. I mean, we're so-" She cuts me off:
"Didn't you hear him? He's the PRINCE. The PRINCE GABRIEL!!!" She exclaims.
"Oh shit, that was him?? I didn't even hear his name..." I respond.
"Gabriel Daemon Lupa..." Grace says dreamily.
"Yeah whatever. Anyways, let's go play some soccer!!!" I cheer. She cheers too. We both love playing soccer. I run back to my coach. I notice that my team is starting to make a plan. Without me.
I walk over to them and clear my throat. They all turn around and look at me.
"Really?? We got the fucking girl?" The captains whines.
"Really?? I got the sexist bitch?" I whine, imitating him. He rolls his eyes and they continue to make a plan.
"Alright let's do it!" The captain cheers, after making the plan.
"Wait... Am I not part of the plan?" I ask him. He glares at me, shaking his head. I want to rip out his throat and pull his tongue out from his ribcage.
"Whatever, if they're not gonna pass the ball to us, then we'll just have to fight for it." Grace said. I agree.
As soon as the referee blew his whistle, I run towards the opposite team's net. My team has the ball. They come closer and closer to the net, and one of them tries to score. A player from the other team blocks the shot, but I nut-meg him and kick the ball as hard as I could in the net. The goalie tries to save it, but he totally fails.
The ball goes in, and my teammates scream in joy. The captain smiles apologetically at me, and gives me a thumbs up. I smirk and nod, patting myself on the shoulder. He smiles and rolls his eyes. He's actually kinda cute... Wait no! No he's not! He's a sexist pig! Sexist pigs are not cute!
The goalie high-kicks the ball, and it goes halfway through the soccer field. Some guy from my team gets the ball, and starts going up. He passes the ball to the captain dude, and he starts making his way to the net. He realizes that there's too many players from the other team in front of him, so he won't be able to score a goal.
He passes the ball to me, and I swiftly kicked, sending it perfectly into the net. My team cheers again, hugging each other. The captain approaches me, coming in for a hug, but I put my hand in front of him.
"Ew please don't," I say. He places a fist in front of me, and I sigh, giving in. I give him a fist bump and he grins. I roll my eyes and focus on the ball in the goalie's hands.

I kick the ball and it hits the goalie square in the face, but it still goes in. The referee blows his whistle, signalling the end of the game. I pout; this was so much fun. My teammates all scream in joy. We won by 9 points. They have 0 points. 9-0... Wow. They suck.
I actually ended up getting a trophy for the best team player. Cool.
"Hey... I'm sorry for not including you in the plan... You're a really great player. I don't think that we could've won without you..." I hear someone say behind me. I turn around and see the captain.
"It's cool. What your name?" I ask him.
"Dylan, what's yours gorgeous?"
"My name is Gray," I say. He seems kind of surprised.
"Sick name!"
"Thanks, haha," I reply. After a while of awkward silence, he finally speaks up:
"So umm, Gray... Do you want to maybe, umm... Go out with me?"
"Umm... I'm going to be busy all week... Maybe next time?" I say. He looks kind of disappointed, but smiles back at me.
"Yeah, ok," I finish putting all my stuff in my bag, and throw it over my shoulder.
"Bye Dylan. It was nice to meet you," I say, walking to my car.
"Uh, hey... Can we at least swap phone numbers?" He asks hopefully. I sigh. This boy will never let go of me.
"Fine," I answer, pulling out my phone. We swap numbers and I (finally) leave.
Gabriel:
Wow.
She was incredible. She was fucking amazing at soccer. She scored 9 goals... And looked so hot while doing it.
"If you didn't reject she'd be in our arms right now. She'd be ours..." Gavin states.
"No! I don't want a mate..." I say.
"Whether you want one or not, everyone has a mate. You can't deny it for long," He responds.
"What if I do?" I ask.
"You can't live without your mate. Without her you will weaken until you die," He explains.
"Really?" I ask in disbelief.
"Yup. And when you finish the mating process, you can get up to 2 times stronger!" He adds.
"I NEED HER!" I reply almost immediately. Twice as much strength? Yes, please!
"Yeah. We're lucky we got such a great mate. She's so beautiful... I want to know her name so badly..." He says.
"Maybe she'll be at the ball tomorrow..." I reply hopefully. I used to think the ball was stupid and useless, but now I'm hoping that she'll be there.
"I can't wait to mark her, and mate with her, and have pups, and-" I cut him off:
"Woah, you're getting way ahead of yourself," I say. He whimpers in response. I strip down to my boxers and climb onto my bed. I try to sleep, but I can't. I can't stop thinking about her. And I don't even know her name. I really hope she'll be at the ball tomorrow...
Well I didn't get any sleep last night. I was just thinking about... Her. I don't even know her name... But I'll find out soon because the ball to help me find my mate will be tonight. This will be the first ball since I only turned 18 a couple months ago, but will take place every year until I find my mate. Every young unmated female from around my kingdom is required to attend, so she must definitely be there.
Man... I didn't think I'd be so excited for the ball...
