Alpha Miles POV

There was no courtship. No rite of proposal. No engagement. Not even an introduction. Nothing! It seemed too extreme to consummate a union that was not blessed by our parents, though the goddess had stamped our fusion.

I couldn’t bring myself to sleep with her. And neither could she. We didn’t want this either.

We just stayed in the same room. Eating. Sleeping. And contemplating what next. Until the third day. We needed to act fast except we cared little for our lives and the pack.

As hard as it was to come to terms with, we had to do the bidding of the goddess.

We are roped with each other.

“What do we do?” She asked me.

“What can we do?” I replied.

“Perhaps we can just pretend we slept with each other…” She suggested.

My peals of laughter cut her short. “Have you forgotten the goddess promised us three curses? First, death. Second, to freeze the womb of our lineage respectively. And third, to disturb my reign.”

She sighed, closing her eyes. “I feel bad for Kenzie.”
