CHAPTER 2: GOD OF FATE

“So here's the thing Miss Fresh Meat, You can choose within these jobs, and with that, you will be able to level up, from being a lowly unfortunate soul. By leveling up, you will be able to access various fields and also earn authorization and power over those beneath you.”

There are 10 levels, from highest to lowest:

Sephyle- this is the part where you will experience tribulations to be able to ascend to the path of godliness. Sephyles take the appearance of a 4 winged angel, the closest to a God, and will be working as their right hand. Sometimes, they take orders from their masters where they visit certain worlds, etc.

Chephyle- the level of doom, they will then be challenged by other Chephyles, and if they manage to earn respect and love from others, they will be able to level up. If they fail during one of the battles, if it is within the stakes, the losing party might be demoted or lose their rank.

Throphyle- Their principal reason for existing is to ensure that the universe stays all together by sending down energy to heads of government and other specialist figures. They are like governors of the afterlife, they take control of evil and good. They level up after a certain amount of experience.

Dophyle- The warriors of the afterlife, more of like a soldier. They go to wars by morphing into a certain creature and help one of the parties to victory. May it be mythical creatures or humans, if there's war, there's Dophyles. They will only be able to pass through this level, if and only if they had led the parties they joined to victory, but this isn't easy, along with joining wars, they also have to rank up.

Inuphyle- The purifier, just like the figure that observed her, will also help purify the souls of beasts and any other creatures. Will be able to level up once they achieved internal peace and purified a certain amount of souls.

Prophet- The prophets are assigned once who will partake in a journey on a planet, and share the blessings and guidance of the God who hired them. Through achieving the role of the highest priest or priestess, they will be able to level up.

Virgin- Virgins or spirits are like fairies, they will choose certain aspects of being a virgin, like the virgin of life, virgin of flowers, virgin of war, etc. After achieving beauty and admiration, they will be able to pass this level.

Archangel- They will morph as a human, work and live as a human. Along with their mission of achieving purity and goodness while they live as humans, then they will be able to level up. They sometimes work as Public Servants, Governor, Mayor, President, etc. To go to the next level, an Archangel must lead blackening individuals to righteousness.

Angel- Specifically guardian angels, Angels take up missions and guard those who have strong belief, trust and love for a certain God that an Angel is working for, then this Angel will be sent upon the realm where the family or person resides and will be tasked to guide them, and prevent them from going astray.

Mage- They are the ones who are assigned for the material things on earth, just like life in it, powers, fire, water, earth, air, flowers, etc. A mage will only level up once they finish the task regarding the type of mage they are and also how well they have managed to beautify and bring life to the place assigned to them.

Whilst a Soul is the starting point of everyone who used all of their lifetimes. Everyone is given by the God of Life a total of 10 Lifetimes and once they use up all the lifetimes, they will then start their journey into Godliness, and start as a wandering soul.

“I'm right, I am dead” she spoke as her head drooped and the usual glistening eyes turned dull, fully blending in with her current identity as a dead, lifeless, soul.

She felt bad, but then she understood. She glanced at the woman in yellow lipstick, her face looked pretty decent, short bob hair, white long-sleeved shirt with three buttons open at the top. Her shirt was tucked inside a yellow pencil skirt and on her shoulder is an animal printed scarf. She heard that this woman is called Paisley.

Paisley had told her that in the Afterlife, there is no need for surnames. Having a surname meant that you are snobbish, unmannered, and do not follow the laws nor the norms. Paisley also introduced her to the way of living and the places she is supposed to visit after she signed her name up to the front desk.

As she was writing her name down the ‘List of Souls’ she suddenly realized one thing, how did she die? What was her life during those lifetimes?

“Miss Paisley, if I could ask-”

“Don’t ask” The woman cut her off as if she already know what it was and she was using the ‘she doesn't give a fuck’ tone at her which kinda annoyed her.

“How did I die? What was my life during those 10 lifetimes? And in my last life, why did I suddenly die? It was pretty clear to me that I didn't slip nor fall on purpose” She voiced her confusions and deliberately looked at Paisley with pleading eyes. Yet the woman just scoffed at her and told her to go to the God of Fate.

Facing the unwillingness to speak of someone will surely anger anyone, but knowing that she just got here and she had no plans on going against others so fast. As much as possible, she wants her ‘undead life’ there to be smooth and peaceful, afterall Afterlife is supposed to be everybody’s resting place, right?

Just as she was reassuring herself, she suddenly felt the ominous feeling that nothing will go her way, and that thought disturbed her more than ever.

…

They are currently inside the office of the ‘God of Fate” waiting at the queue. The creature from a while ago told them that since they do not have an appointment, then they ought to wait for the God of Fate to have his free time.

“Please come in, His highness currently has 15 minutes to spare” the creature said. She then took this time to sweep a glance over the creature's body, he had a pair of wings and above his head is a glistening, and eye blinding halo. What took her by surprise was how shiny the man’s blonde hair was, it was like his face held holy purification that seduces you. Shaking the weird thoughts away, she walked past the man with scrunched brows. As she stepped inside the room, she then found herschel;f in a completely different setting. She had expected herself to be inside a literal office room, but in front of her is a chinese style courtyard and it is  surrounded by tall bamboo trees, at the far right corner are daffodils and dandelions.

Her eyes glanced around the whole place and stopped at the sight of a Man who will surely make anyone breathless.

Now that she thinks about it, the creature from a while ago dulled in comparison to this man. His long jet black hair hangs over his shoulder as if they were soft blankets warming him, whilst he wore a set of ancient blue robes with intricate design on its hem and waist. She was surely taking up her time appreciating such a beauty when she suddenly heard a low and majestic beautiful voice that would make your stomach churn in delight.

“Do you dare let this mighty one wait?”
