Lillith heard the news of Lucien's capture even before he was brought to the palace. It had seemed to spread like a wildfire and as soon as Cali pushed the door open, she was bombarded with questions. "How did it happen?" Lillith asked as she crossed over to the other side of the room. "I heard the news," "You sure did," Cali said and shut the door behind her. "He was ambushed." "It had to happen at a point, right?" Lillith said with a smile that didn't get to her eyes. Cali watched her for a moment with worry. "Is something wrong?" "Not really," Cali watched her for a long time to see that she wasn't telling the truth. "I don't believe you. Are you worried about Lucien being caught?" Lillith shrugged. "Maybe I am," "Well, you shouldn't be. Because a whole lot of people would be kept alive. No more deaths. And also, he won't be in wah during the coronation," Lillith stared at Cali in surprise. "Coronation?" "Of course. Didn't Leon tell you? The
Lillith heaved a shaky breath. No. She wasn't afraid of him. She just didn't understand why he was sweet one second and a different person the next around her. Though there was a relative change from the past year. He wasn't the violent man she used to know. He must have found where he kept his manners and respect while she was away. Her eyes darted from his well sculpted arms down to his chest. He was ripped. Her eyes rested on his abdomen as she took in the muscles that had built up around there. She wanted to reach out her hand to him and each time that thought came, her fists involuntarily clenched. She cleared her throat and nodded before going back to take a seat on the edge of the bed. "Well, here I am. Just like you want it," Leon scoffed and walked towards his closet. She fought hard not to follow him with her eyes but it was near impossible. Really really impossible. How could she tear her eyes from his body? That glorious body that gleamed with wetness? She
Lillith tried to enjoy her picnic. The aro was brighter than before. The war was almost over and Lucien had been captured. She tried not to think too much about the whole ordeal. Thinking about it made her feel really guilty but today, all she wanted to do was enjoy her picnic and act like there was nothing wrong with her and Leon, like she wasn't mad that he didn't inform her of the coronation. He was going to be crowned alongside another woman and Lillith didn't know what to feel. Henry pulled at her dress. He was laughing at Cali who made caricature faces in front of him. A smile tugged her lips up and she pulled him into her body before tossing a broken off muffin into her mouth. "I'm glad I made this suggestion. It's really nice out here," Lillith said as she took in the shrubs and vegetation. "After being locked up for more than a week, I think this was the best decision we ever made," "Or you made it?" Cali said. She had a glass of wine in her hand. "I wasn
Leon stepped out of the dungeon in a terrible mood. Be walked across the large hall, ignoring Lucien's questions about how his night went. He pulled the door to his study open and walked in before slamming the door shut. No one dared to go in as he was in a bad mood. No one was ready to face Leon in a bad mood. He paced around in his study, wondering how he was going to go about all these. He kicked the seat closest to him and flew over to the other side of the room, crashing against the wall and breaking into splinters. Lucien was bent on continuing the war. He wasn't going to let Lillith go with him. Not even trying to convince him had worked and that had angered Leon terribly. A knock sounded on the door and before he could yell at whoever was at the door, it was pushed open and Delilah walked in. Leon turned away from her and walked to the windows as his fingers raked into his hair. "Not now, Delilah," "There's never a time for you, Leon. How did it g
Lillith and Cali were just packing you when one of the guards walked up to them. He bowed at Lillith who felt quite awkward and Cali smiled with a look that said: “I told you so.” "Alpha Leon requests your presence in his study," "Is anything the problem?" Lillith asked as she scrambled to her feet. The guard shook his head. "Not that I know of." "Don't worry, I'll take care of him," Cali said as Lillith tried to lift Henry up. "And how are you going to do that alone?" Lillith asked, her face etched with worry. "Did I say I was going to do it alone?" Cali said as she stared pointedly at the man standing before her. Lillith nodded. "Alright then. I'll leave you both to it." Before the guard turned to walk away, Cali called after him. "Hey! Didn't you understand a word I said to her? Come over here and join me." Lillith laughed and began to walk away. She kept smiling till she got to the door that led to Leon's study. Her smile faded immedia
Lillith was hesitant to go down for dinner. Things weren't getting any better between her and Leon. Not even after he told her that she was going to be Coronated as Queen. It had come as a surprise. The whole time, she believed it was Mia who was going to be crowned Queen. She did need time to think things through. Yes, she was deeply attracted to Leon. Yes, she wanted him to look at her the way a man in love would look at a woman he loved. She wanted to be cared for and treated like she mattered. This was something she thought about each time she considered feeling something for Leon. But that unsettling feeling in her chest seemed to remain that way. There was no way in hell she could settle with a man she wasn't sure cared about her. Maybe he had to tell her how he really felt for her before she considered becoming Queen. Cali came into the room moments later. She had gone to dump their dirty clothes in the laundry and had returned. She frowned when she saw Lill
Lillith sighed and slid back into her seat. This talk they were going to have had happened quite a few times and she wasn't ready to get into another with him because they always ended the same way. Well, whatever he wanted to say better now ended up in an argument. He finished up the last of his meal and wiped his mouth with the neatly folded silk napkin before gulping down his glass of wine. "Have you come to a decision?" "Not yet," Lillith replied quietly. "We just talked about it a few hours ago. You don't expect me to come to a conclusion within that space of time," Leon closed his eyes and sighed. "But there is no time for that, Lillith. The coronation is in a few days' time," "Will Lucien still be here on the day of the Coronation?" "Why do you care?" "I just think everything should be fully settled before anything happens. Lucien has done so much for me and even if he has become a different person within this space of time, I still think I owe him some
Breakfast the next morning was quite a dull one. Leon had gone to the dungeons to negotiate with Lucien again and Melissa had her own plans. One she was planning to carry out now that Lillith was not here yet. She had made herself quite useful in the kitchen, much to everyone's surprise. The maids loved her anyway. That was one thing Lillith had a disadvantage over. She was beautiful, good at acting like she was nice. Even the chief chef made her taste some of the newest dishes she was making and after breakfast was prepared, she offered to help with taking the dishes to the dining room. It wasn't something they wanted to do but they were already used to her so Tiffany allowed her. She was the last to leave the dining table after the maids had dished everything out. She quickly drew out a small dark brown bottle that contained a concentrated liquid. She made sure she had eaten first before adding the poison to it. She was very sure that Leon wasn't going to appear
