Lillith sighed and slid back into her seat. This talk they were going to have had happened quite a few times and she wasn't ready to get into another with him because they always ended the same way. Well, whatever he wanted to say better now ended up in an argument. He finished up the last of his meal and wiped his mouth with the neatly folded silk napkin before gulping down his glass of wine. "Have you come to a decision?" "Not yet," Lillith replied quietly. "We just talked about it a few hours ago. You don't expect me to come to a conclusion within that space of time," Leon closed his eyes and sighed. "But there is no time for that, Lillith. The coronation is in a few days' time," "Will Lucien still be here on the day of the Coronation?" "Why do you care?" "I just think everything should be fully settled before anything happens. Lucien has done so much for me and even if he has become a different person within this space of time, I still think I owe him some
Breakfast the next morning was quite a dull one. Leon had gone to the dungeons to negotiate with Lucien again and Melissa had her own plans. One she was planning to carry out now that Lillith was not here yet. She had made herself quite useful in the kitchen, much to everyone's surprise. The maids loved her anyway. That was one thing Lillith had a disadvantage over. She was beautiful, good at acting like she was nice. Even the chief chef made her taste some of the newest dishes she was making and after breakfast was prepared, she offered to help with taking the dishes to the dining room. It wasn't something they wanted to do but they were already used to her so Tiffany allowed her. She was the last to leave the dining table after the maids had dished everything out. She quickly drew out a small dark brown bottle that contained a concentrated liquid. She made sure she had eaten first before adding the poison to it. She was very sure that Leon wasn't going to appear
"So-someone poisoned my food," Lillith breathed out. She could barely speak. Her voice was hoarse as she choked back tears. Cali immediately stood to her feet. Her expression was a mix of horror and anger and the need to kill whoever had done that. She rushed towards Lillith and grabbed her by the arm. "Are you okay? Did you eat it?" Lillith shook her head and pulled away from Cali's hold. She went to take a seat, leaning her elbows on the table as she buried her fingers into her hair. She looked distraught. "I know I am hated by everyone but why would anyone try to get me killed?" She raised her head to look at Cali. "Why would anyone want me dead, huh? I literally stay away from everyone. Sometimes I even have my meals here so why would the maids or anyone want me dead?!" "I don't think the maids did that," Cali said quietly. She was so calm that Lillith could barely believe she was nursing so much anger. "Then who if not them?" Lillith asked. She sounded like
He knew he couldn't leave without at least knowing she was good. He wanted to talk to her. But he was going to wait. He didn't care how long it took. He shut the door behind him really gently and walked into the room, careful not to disturb her sleep. He crossed over to the other side of her room. He grabbed a chair and placed it right beside her bed before taking a seat and looking down at her. She was sleeping quite peacefully. He sat back and stared at her. Her hair had definitely grown longer. This was the first time he was seeing her like this. Her hair fanned out behind her head, creating a halo and making her appear ephemeral; susceptible to fading from existence. Her face was pale, her cheeks dusted read and the moon light streamed through her window, tinting her skin into a lighter shade. She heaved a sigh and snuggled into her pillow before going back to sleep. His eyes travelled down her slender body. She had definitely put in a bit of weight but it was
Lillith woke up to someone beside her on the bed. She was cocooned in the warmth of someone's arms. She didn't remember anyone coming to bed with her. It definitely wasn't Henry. He was still a little boy and not grown yet. She twisted her body with slight difficulty to see Leon, fast asleep. A frown was etched on her face. It wasn't really a frown. Just a look of suprise. What was he doing here? In all of her imaginations, she hadn't expected to see Leon beside her with his arms wrapped around her. She blinked to be sure that this wasn't a dream. But it was real. He was sleeping beside her and his arms were tightly wrapped around her waist. She smiled for the first time since she had ever woken up from her sleep. Why was he here? Did he miss her or something? It was hard to believe that he was laying here, right beside her. It had to be a dream. It definitely had to be. But he stirred and she was convinced this was real life. He snuggled into her and his eyes
Lillith's moans floated to the ceiling of the room as Leon kissed her. His fingers grazed the skin of her cheek, caressing softly as his tongue scoured every corner of her mouth. He turned them both over so that he was hovering over her with his hands stationed above her head. His lips moved from her mouth to her chin as he peppered kisses down to her neck. Writhing underneath him, she threw her arm around his neck, caressing the nape of his neck softly before her fingers slid into her neck. She kissed him back with everything she had in her and when his hands trailed down the middle of her chest, she whimpered and her fingers sank into the skin of his bare back. She opened her eyes to find him staring down at her. He had a small smile on his face. It warmed her heart and gave her flutters at the pit of her belly. She didn't want this moment to end. Not at all. The way his eyes were warm and filled with raw emotions, the way the sides of his lips curled slightly into a smile
Lillith woke up with a yawn and a stretch. She hadn't woken up happy in a long time and when her eyes cracked open, the other side of the bed was empty. She was a bit disappointed not to see him beside her but she was content. Really content. She placed her hand on the bed and smiled to herself. This morning had been mind-blowing; magical. She wanted to experience it over and over again. She had orgasmed a few times but today was different. Really different. It had been a mixture of ecstacy, sweet words and revelations and pleasure. She had gone way in over her head and she didn't regret any of it. She wanted it to continue. She wanted to wake up in his arms with Henry sleeping on the cot till he was grown enough to be in his own room. Henry. She hadn't checked up on him this morning. She sat up immediately, hoping Cali had come in and just as she turned, she found Leon standing in front of her window with Henry in his arms. Her heart melted at the sight. She didn'
Melissa woke up extremely angry. None of her plans had worked at all. One of the maids had taken the fall which wasn't what she wanted. Last night, Leok had passed by her like he didn't see her. He had been hurrying towards Lillith's room. That alone made her so angry and she wished she could find another way to end Lilith's life so he could forget about the filthy woman and fall in love with her instead. At the dinner table last night, she had eaten her dinner with Delilah who kept giving her looks of suspicion. Melissa suspected that Delilah knew something about her. But that didn't deter her from poisoning Lillith's food which had gone awry. She walked to the window and stared down at the garden below as her mind ran Mach five. If she wanted Lillith dead before the coronation, she had to be fast about it. She had to pay someone to do the dirty job for her. She was going to end this once and for all. She hadn't come here only to be treated like she was invisible.
