Jess stood staring at me like I had said something so out of the book.

“Did you just say intruder?” she asked, staring at me with so much confusion.

“If you ask me, I'm more confused than you are,” I said, staring into her eyes.

My wolf growled softly in my head, making me know there was trouble.

And it had to be attended to as soon as possible.

I clenched my fist as I gulped down nervously trying to hide that what I had seen was a scene to make any wolf made of the moon goddess scared.

“Let's just keep our fingers crossed for the meantime” I said trying to take her mind off whatever I had said.

“Remember this stays between us” I said looking straight into her eyes.

And because I believed for now, no one had to know.

She gave a nod forcing a smile, but I could see the fear in her eyes.

I had my focus back on Joanna who was fast asleep in bed, knowing what had happened was a lot worse than the treatments she's been getting from Henry.
