Chapter 65

Jaselyn's POV

I'm utterly taken aback by Zane's confession and I find myself reeling with confusion and disbelief.

None of his words make any sense to me, they don't correlate to our situation and my experience.

He loves me? If that's true then he sure has a very crazy way of showing it. But I'd be a fool to believe anything Zane says while he's intoxicated.

He could very well wake up tomorrow morning and not remember a single thing he said tonight. I won't indulge in something so short lived.

I wiggle my hand underwater away from his and stand up. He follows suit, his warm expression turning downcast.

“It's getting pretty late, we should head back. I have a lot of work tomorrow so I'd prefer it if I could sleep early. You're also the Alpha, it isn't safe for you to be out this late and intoxicated as well.” I said and turned away, ready to leave the same way we came but he gripped my hand forcefully.

It wasn't enough to hurt but the grip was tight and it would be a hassle to break ou
