Chapter one hundred and twenty-four

I didn't hear anyone talk about our marriage contract anymore.

I didn't know what method Matthew used to hide the contract or what he did to keep Alden from saying it, I just know that no one ever mentioned the marriage contract anymore. Although it didn't seem like Matthew had used a lot of effort to hide it, I knew he had worked hard to make my life peaceful. He didn't want me to know because he didn't want me to worry.

I accidentally asked Matthew about it once and he said he burned the contract a long time ago. He did not ask me about the contract in my hand. Maybe he wanted me to be the one to decide on that.
