Isabelle pov
I stand in the hallway of Sebastian's mansion, my hands relaxed on my chest. I looked at the maids as they each carried my luggage into the mansion.“Where should we put it, Ma’am.” The head maid asked me.She looked to be in her late fifties and I wondered how she still stayed in this mansion and worked for Sebastian even after knowing how he frightened all of them.“Are there any spare rooms?” I ask, my eyes looking around. “Keep it in one of them. I will sort everything later in the morning.” I made way for them to walk along.I stood there for a while, as my luggage was taken in one after the other. I looked at the time and it was already past 10.It was time I retired to bed. I was very tired from today and need a lot of rest for the next day. I stopped the head maid,“Excuse me,” I called out, my hand in the air and she walked over to me. “Where would I be staying for the night?”She looked at me her brows raised a bit.“A room...” She murmurs.“Yes, aren’t there any room for me, in this big mansion?” I exclaim and she laughs slightly, covering her hands with her mouth, then after, she returns her hand down to below her stomach.“There’s a room for you, Ma’am.” She bows at me, “Follow me.” She pointed forward and made a way for me to walk along.I step on the stairs leading up to the first floor of the building. My eyes looked at the wall to find any hung portraits, however, there were none. Just the black paint. We remained silent walking down the corridor of the first floor. The yellow light illuminated our path as we walked. The maid tailed me from behind, her head bent.We got to a brown door and we halted in front of it.“You’ll be staying here for the night, Ma’am.” The maid pointed and bowed her head again at me, before she exited the scene, returning to her duty.I breathed down hard before I pressed the doorknob and pushed it to open. I walked into the dark room and only the moonlight from the outside showed in.I tried trailing my hand on the wall to find a light switch but I didn’t stumble upon any. It was futile. I removed my huge gown in a rush and threw it on the floor.I strode into the bathroom and there it felt like another room in the building. Very spacious. At first, I thought I had missed my way but then I recognized the room. It looked exactly like a bathroom. A toilet seat, shower, bathtub, dressing stand, etc. everything was decorated in white. From top to bottom. Even the light in the bathroom made the whole room look even more purer.Who would have thought there would be a white room inside a dark-painted mansion?I slowly slide my panties and bra to the floor and step into the bathtub and turn the shower on. The warm water slid down my body as I slowly had my bath. The water relaxing me with every drop. When I was done, I returned back into the room and without delay, walked to the edge of the wide-spaced bed and slept on it. I needed a good night's sleep and I'm going to get it.*The morning sun escaped into the room, illuminating the whole surrounding. I was sleeping like a princess on the bed, forgetting that I am now a Mrs Black sleeping in a mansion.I slept late last night and waking up early was going to take a toll on me. I couldn’t allow my eyes to have dark circles around and bags below my eyes.Still, I needed to do something today. I remembered vividly last night. How Sebastian talked to me and how cold and rude he sounded. I don’t know how to approach him when we meet today. What to say and do when I was around him.I rolled my body around, and I noticed the space on the bed was more than expected. I kept rolling, effortlessly. How big was this bed exactly? I kept rolling and came to a stop, when my hands rested on a soft, hard, built, and muscular chest. My hands compressed and contrasted.‘This can’t be a wall. It's less rigid and hard.’ I whispered in my head. My brows creased. ‘What’s it then?’ I move my hands, slowly ascending up. I felt something like the edge of a person's face and then I open my eyes slowly. My eyes snapped open, and I was met with the dark intense gaze of a handsome man. But his expression was one of anger and disgust, not kindness or warmth. As I looked up at him, I tried to get my bearings and figure out where I was. Where exactly am I? Wasn’t it the same room from last night? Why am I on the same bed with Sebastian Black?"What's going on?" I manage to croak out, my throat dry and my voice weak.“I should be asking you the same question.” He says, his eyes never leaving me. “What are you doing in my room, on my bed? Who allowed you into my room.”His voice roars and I flinch, slightly.“No, you’re the one on my bed in my room.” I cried, “What have you done to me? Did you touch me? I definitely didn't consent to any of that! Did you…did we…have…s*”“Stop dreaming, princess.” He interrupts me. “One might think you’re crazy right now. You probably had too much to drink last night, or your newly found position is getting into your head. This is my house and I stay wherever I want. This is my room, now, get the fuck out.”“Ahhhh!!!” I scream at the top of my voice. “Pervert!!!!”Isabelle pov “I’m sure I locked the door before I slept last night.” I sat up in the bed, Sebastian rolled away from the bed and picked up his phone. “Are you stalking me?”He laughed.“You amuse me.” Sebastian stood up, away from the bed. As the bed sheet left his waist, his black tight boxer was revealed. “What did you say your name was?”He looked at me but my eyes weren’t looking at him, instead, I was looking at his bulge covered by his boxers. How big was that thing exactly? And I was in bed with THAT???!!!I screamed.“Pervert!!!!!!” Raising my bed sheet to cover my face. I kept screaming, then stood to my feet and ran for the door. When I placed my hand on the doorknob, struggling to get it open, I noticed Sebastian still looking at me in a daze, probably wondering why I was acting that way. I guess he was asking himself if I was crazy.Still, I ran swiftly as fast as my legs could carry me. I had to be far away from him. I couldn’t stay any longer around him. I just can’t.*
Sebastian POVI walk huskily out of my mansion, my face straight. I never have too much of an expectation. I’ve always know this new wife would be trouble through and through. As I walk down the little stair at the front of the mansion, heading for the black jeep parked outside the mansion, my memory drifted shortly to father. He had told me he was going to get me a wife to which I humbly refused. Perhaps he didn’t hear me when I said I would make sure the woman he brings leaves the presumed marriage in pieces, but as always, my father always chooses what he wants to hear.I looked up at my female assistant, Kate Anderson as she stood beside the jeep, holding a tab in her hands. She looked up and saw me approaching, she rushed to open the door. “To the office.” I said after stepping into the car, my face serious. “Alright, Sir.”she nodded and rushed to the drivers seat. Soon after, we were at the office. As I entered Into the main building, my five bodyguards followed suit behind
Isabelle pov“Husband, why did you come back home this late?” My legs were crossed over each other as I stared at Sebastian figure in the door way. “I’ve missed you.”Instead of a reply, he thundered loudly.“What’s that supposed to mean?”“I don’t like eating dinner alone…I was waiting for you.” I pouted my lips babyish. I was expecting a smile to break the hardness on his face, but his face was set hard. “Why do you care? A-and…why are you dressed like that?” His hoarse voice came out, I could have sworn that I was starting to get frightened because of how he was staring at me. “Get some clothes on to cover your body.”“Ohhh you don’t like my skin?” I touched my leg and slowly slide my lingerie but he looked at me hard and looked away“I don’t!, I said get some clothes on!” He shouted. His hands still holding onto the doorknob. “Okay…”I raised my hands in defense and went over to get a black robe and cover myself completely. “no need to be too hostile about it…I’d go put on some clo
Isabelle povI had to play dead. If not, I don’t know what Sebastian was going to do to me. I could feel my body move from the floor into his arms and then gently placed on the bed in the room. After, I heard him dial a number and ask that the family doctor rush over to the house. In what felt like minutes, the door of the room was pushed open and I could feel the presence of two beings inside the room. One the doctor and the other my nemesis of a husband, Sebastian. “What happened to her?” The doctor ask Sebastian who has his hands crossed. I slowly open my eyes to peep at them but when Sebastian look my way, I quickly shut my eyes. “She just collapsed when I was talking to her.”Sebastian reply was quick. No fragment of emotion in his tone. It was like he didn’t care and the reason why he had called the doctor was not to have a dead body in his room. Wise I'd say.“She did? You didn’t touch her did you?” There was sarcasm in the doctor’s voice that brought silence to the room.
Chapter 9Isabelle’s POVThe moment Travis said Sebastian’s name, his whole expression changed. His easygoing smile disappeared, replaced by something hard to decipher—shock, disbelief, and something else. Something darker.I frowned. "Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?"Travis blinked, shaking his head as if snapping out of a trance. "It’s just… unexpected," he said carefully. "I didn’t think you—of all people—would marry him."I arched a brow. "And what exactly does that mean?"Travis hesitated, his lips parting slightly as if he wanted to say something, but then he exhaled sharply and ran a hand through his perfectly styled hair. "Nothing. Never mind."A strange, uneasy feeling settled in my chest. Travis had always been honest with me. We had known each other for years, and he had never been the type to hold back. But now, he was hesitating.I stepped closer. "Travis, if you know something about him, you should tell me."He studied me for a moment, then forced a small smile
Chapter 10 Isabelle’s POV I woke up to the sound of rain tapping against the large bedroom window, the gray morning light filtering through the curtains. My body ached slightly from the stress of yesterday’s events, but my mind was sharper than ever. Sebastian was hiding something from me. And so was Travis. I needed answers. After freshening up, I pulled on a simple black dress and tied my hair into a ponytail. As I stepped out of the bedroom, the rich aroma of coffee filled the air. I wasn’t in the mood for breakfast, but I knew I had to eat something before heading out. As I reached the dining room, I froze. Sebastian was already there, sitting at the long mahogany table, flipping through the pages of a newspaper as he sipped his coffee. He looked every bit the billionaire he was—polished, powerful, and completely unreadable. His piercing blue eyes lifted to mine the moment I walked in. "You’re up early," he remarked, setting his cup down. "So are you," I replied, making
Chapter 11 Isabelle’s POV The bakery had always been my escape—a place where the scent of freshly baked bread and pastries drowned out the noise of my reality. But today, I couldn't shake off the unease creeping up my spine. Travis' reaction to Sebastian's name had stuck with me. That deep frown, the way his jaw had tightened—he knew something. And I needed to know what. I finished my business with Lady Frigerthon, packed up my things, and decided to head home. As I turned a corner, my phone buzzed in my pocket. A glance at the screen made my stomach drop. Dad. I hesitated before answering. “Hello?” “Where are you?” His voice was clipped, impatient. “At the market,” I replied cautiously. “Why?” A sigh crackled through the phone. “Your stepmother wants us to have dinner together tonight.” I nearly scoffed. Us? As in, the father who barely acknowledged me, the stepmother who always found a reason to criticize me, and the stepsister who lived to make my life miserable? “Isabe
Isabella POVThe evening air inside the Black mansion was heavy with silence, except for the soft hum of the air conditioner and the ticking of the grand clock in the hallway. Isabelle sat by the vanity mirror in her room, staring at her reflection. The dim lighting cast a soft glow on her face, highlighting the quiet determination in her eyes. She had agreed to this marriage for her mother. That contract… those five months… they weren’t just words on paper. They were a countdown to the inevitable. If she failed to get pregnant, she had no idea what Mr. Black Sr. would do. Would he throw her mother out of the hospital? Would he strip her of the financial support she had fought so hard to secure? Her fingers clenched the edge of the wooden table. She didn’t have the luxury of waiting for Sebastian to suddenly wake up one day and decide he wanted her. That wasn’t going to happen. He barely tolerated her presence. She exhaled deeply, her heart pounding. If she had to seduce her husband,
