Moriah looked at him, tears kept flowing from her eyes. “Why don’t you want to have a child?”

“I’m not ready to have a child,” Ethan said and sat on the couch near the French window.

“Why?” Moriah wanted to know his reason.

“Let’s not talk about it, Moriah,” Ethan said in a curt tone.

Moriah concluded that his unwillingness to discuss his reason was that he just didn’t want to have a child with her. He is a man and can’t help but touch her whenever he feels a need, he just sees her as fulfilling his carnal needs but has no plan to have a child with her. Moriah held her chest, as a past bearable pain swept into her heart.

Within a minute, she stopped crying, and with her palm, she dried her tear streaked face. She entered the bathroom and washed her face, brushed her hair and left the room afterwards, leaving Ethan in the room.

After a while, Moriah’s phone rang. Ethan fished out her phone and looked at the screen to check who the caller was.

His stoic face turned grim when he sa

The conversation wasn’t the typical conversation he had with Cameron. If it wasn’t his parents who had called, then it would certainly be Hazel, who he was talking over the phone. “Sure, we’ll have dinner when I come back. Take care of yourself and don’t get sick,” Ethan said, Moriah’s heart sunk. Ethan was taken aback to see Moriah when he swiveled on his feet. It wasn’t long before he spoke. “How long have you been here?” Moriah gulped and calmed herself down so she could speak normally. “Not that long, who was that?” She shivered and hugged her torso as coldness was beginning to saturate her. It was the coldness in her heart that made her tremble. Ethan shrugged his suit and draped it on her shoulder. Moriah felt the heat that lingered in his suit nevertheless it did nothing to warm her cold heart. His answer was long in coming, Moriah patiently waited for his reply. When the silence was unbearable for Moriah, she hastily fled from him, afraid that she would burst into tears a

“Alright, let’s have breakfast first,” Dylan stood up and made his way to the dining room. “The old folks had breakfast early and went somewhere,” Dylan explained to Moriah when she was apparently looking for her and his parents. “I see,” Moriah smiled and sat on the chair pulled by Ethan for her. “Uncle was serious when he said that they will have their own activity,” Moriah giggled. “He had never been like that for years,” Dylan chuckled and then his expression became glum, remembering the time his father’s so-called friends tried to take advantage of his kindness. Moriah held Dylan’s arm, seeing his bleak expression. “Dy, are you alright?” “For a long time, our family had been avoiding making friends as we have been taken advantage of many times,” Dylan answered. “But, you were friends with my grandfather who was obviously using the marriage alliance for his company’s benefit,” Moriah smiled. “We were also taking advantage of the fact that he was trying to marry me to a prod

Moriah opened an ointment and applied some on her sprained ankle, afterwards she wrapped her foot with a compression bandage. “Do you have someone to carry you?” Moriah asked, she was concerned that the distance she would walk would worsen her ankle sprain. “No, I came here alone,” she replied.Moriah scrunched her nose. “Can you call someone in your family to pick you here?” “My family is in Singapore, I came here alone to celebrate the Chinese New Year,” she said, her head hung low.“Leave it to me, little sister,” Dylan said. “Are you sure?” Moriah asked. Dylan nodded and without warning, he swept Serena into his arms. Serana gasped as she was taken by surprise. Color crept up her face. “Moriah, I’ll take her to the hotel she’s staying at, you can stay here,” Dylan said. “Alright, Dy, take care of her,” Moriah’s eyes dance with mirth. She could tell that Dylan was smitten. “I’ll go with you,” Shaun said to Dylan, he didn’t want to be an eye sore to Ethan. “No, you stay wit

Although they were a wealthy family, Lei and Sophie aren’t the kind of snobbish wealthy couple. They didn’t care if Dylan marries a poor girl, so long as they both love each other. That is what matters most to them. “Excuse me for a while, I’ll have to take a look at them,” Lei said, standing up when Jianyu nodded. “I hope she’s the woman for Dy,” Moriah whispered and sighed. “I just want him to be happy.” “He will be happy, I could see how he looked at the woman,” Jianyu ruffled Moriah’s hair. “I could also tell that the girl is relaxed and comfortable in his arms, although she was shy,” Jainyu added. “Really, baba?” Moriah was elated at Jianyu’s remark. “Believe your father,” Anastacia held Moriah’s hands and went on. “Remember, you and Ethan? When he asked for your hand that day, he knew you would be happy with Ethan.” Moriah couldn’t say a word and looked down. The moment she bowed her head she remembered about her return to London with Ethan. She looked up at her father and

As soon as Shaun was a few meters away from them, Moriah unwound her arms around Ethan’s waist and ran back to their room. She lifted the covers and slid under it as soon as she came near the bed. She was baffled that she stopped shedding tears. But the pain has yet to subside. Ethan sat beside her and pulled the covers to see her. “What did he do to you?” “He didn’t do anything to me,” she responded blandly, not sparing him a glance. “Why are you in tears, then?” Ethan asked. Moriah wanted to laugh in derision, it took everything in her to repress it. What an insensitive husband he is. He doesn’t know that it was he who brought her to tears. As Ethan waited for her to speak, there was a silence, that a pin drop could be heard. After a long silence, Ethan could no longer take it and broke the silence which he later wished he didn’t speak. “Are you still longing to be back together?” A gust of anger overwhelmed Moriah and she blurted out. “I wish he had come back soon to take m

The following morning, Moriah woke up and Ethan wasn’t on the bed. The room was utterly silent. She sat up and looked around the room, but Ethan wasn’t in the room. Her heart felt heavy as if a huge rock had been deposited there. She hugged her knees and propped her head on them while mulling what to do with their relationship. It was starting to drain her. “Are you not feeling well?” Ethan anxiously asked because she had not heard him come into the room. He was worried that she might have a psychogenic fever again. Moriah lifted her head again, surprised how calm her heart was and did not cry unlike before. She wondered if she had already grown up in that aspect. Perhaps, she had built an emotional immunity over the time. “I’m fine,” she said in a hoarse voice. Ethan settled his palm on her forehead to check if she had any fever. Moriah looked at his worried expression and sighed softly. “I’m fine, don’t worry.” Ethan gathered her in his arms. “Do you want to go hiking? Dylan h

Noticing that Moriah barely touched her food, Shaun couldn’t help but say, “Eat more, you need more energy as we are going to hike.” Jianyu and Anastacia looked at Shaun when they heard him talk to Moriah tenderly. Then their gaze landed at Ethan, who continued eating, trying to decipher what was in his mind. However, his stoic expression gave them no clue. “Are you going with us?” Moriah asked, she was nervous, what would happen to them in the mountains, considering how jealous Ethan was. She felt like being caught between a rock and a hard place. She was having a headache even before they left the villa. There were two men and one woman who were waiting for them at the foot of the mountain. “Hi, I’m Li, the tour guide, young master Wang arranged,” the leader of the team introduced himself. He pointed at the two people standing beside him. “And these are my colleagues, Huang and Shen.” Moriah smiled while she waved her hand and said, “Hi!” “Can we have a warm up for a while, a

Li, Huang and Shen turned around as they found it uncomfortable to see the affection displayed by Ethan. “Let’s get going, Ethan, so we can go back to the villa,” Moriah said. Ethan chuckled. “Are you that eager, wifey,” what he said gained a pinch from Moriah. “I didn’t mean that,” Moriah said in an exasperated tone, but Ethan was in the least affected. “Dylan, booked a hotel near here,” he gave her a peck on the lips before releasing her from his hold. Finally, after several hours of hiking, they reach the top of the mountain. They did some stretching exercises to alleviate the soreness later. Despite Moriah’s protest, Ethan hugged her until they arrived at the hotel. “We’re here, sirs and madam,” said the chauffeur. When they were in their respective suites, Moriah was already itching to have a shower after the long hike. She was just about to enter the bathroom when her phone rang. She recognized the ring tone and hurriedly went to answer the call, but Ethan had already an

Moriah stared at her reflection in the mirror with a critical eye, tilting her head this way and that as she turned around to look at her butt. Ethan stepped into her line of sight, and she gave him a perturbed frown in the mirror. "Are you ready?" Ethan lovingly looked at Moriah, who was looking at herself in the mirror in displeasure. "You seemed to be disgusted with yourself.” "Why won't I be disgusted looking at myself when this kid made me look like an elephant," Moriah pouted as she complained, and he grinned, coming up behind her to wrap his arms around her. He could hardly fit them around her huge stomach. “You look beautiful and you know it,” he told her, dropping a kiss onto her shoulder. She turned around and looked at the man, the corner of his eyes crinkling attractively. He just got more gorgeous with age; the sprinkling of gray in his hair and the fine lines forming around his eyes and on his brow just added to his gorgeous looks. "I told you," Dylan said to Serena. "I look like my son," he was proud that his son looked like him. Serena giggled, looking at the smug face of Dylan. "Okay, you're right," she said, raising both of her hands. "By the way, how was your MRI scan?" Dylan asked Ethan, Moriah called him the day before Ethan's MRI scans. After Ethan’s message, images of their wedding flashed on the screen, afterwards photos of them in Shanghai, their family pictures and many photos of her and Ethan together. Ethan roared in laughter. “You’re so mean,” It dawned on her that it’s the reason he told her to watch alone in their room. “I'm not mean," he said, still trying to stop himself from laughing. He went on after he stopped laughing. " If ever I forget you and watch how I make love with you, at least it gives me proof that I truly adore you and that we truly love each other. Look, we are not only having s*x but what we were doing was expressing our love for each other. It wasn’t lust that moved our bodies, but love,” Ethan explained to his bashful wife. Moriah looked at him with her bright smile that he loves to look at, which made the little annoyance completely vanish. "I love you, Mr Ethan Miller!" "I love you, too Mrs Moriah Miller," Ethan chuckled, tilting his head, rubbing the tip of his nose against the tip of her nose. Moriah pulled away from him and put the flowers on the couch. It was only then that she noticed the floor with rose petals. She giggled. "Now, I know that you are capable of doing romantic things to pursue a woman." "And that woman is you," Ethan snaked his arm around her waist and drew her near to him, closing the gap between them. Ethan didn’t let the night pass by without showing his love to her. He savored the moment to hold her close to him as their bodies tangled. The day of his surgery had finally arrived.
