"Man, let's finish the work, boss will kill us if we don't do what we're ordered to do," the man pushed the other man and unbuttoned Moriah's shirt.

Shaun woke up. "What are you doing to her?"

He punched the man, they were startled and didn't expect that Shaun was good at fighting. He beat them up and they ran from him.

"Moriah… Moriah… Moriah," Shaun patted her cheek, but she didn’t wake up and then he shook her body to wake her up. He looked at her unbuttoned shirt and gulped. He buttoned her shirt with shaking hands.

"Keep your filthy hands off her," Ethan said, he was fuming that he shoved his fist in Shaun's face but he was fast to elude him this time.

Ethan's bodyguards came in and held Shaun. He punched him in his torso.

"What did you do to her?" Ethan asked between his gritted teeth.

"I didn't do anything to her, I don't know why she's here," Shaun answered.

Ethan looked at Moriah and her shirt was opened. He hurriedly went to cover her body and buttoned her shirt. When

Moriah stood up and walked towards the door. "Where are you going?" Ethan asked as she reached for the door knob. "To help Shaun, my conscience couldn't bear to see him destroyed," Moriah said. "You walk out of this house, you're declaring that you love him and not me," Ethan said. Moriah looked up at the ceiling. "Ethan, don't be cruel to him. He did nothing to harm me." "No, he must pay for his crime," Ethan bellowed. Moriah opened the door. "I'm sorry Ethan. I don't want to be guilty for ruining a person." Once the door was closed behind her, the sound of things crashing came from the inside.Moriah closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She then walked towards the stairs. Moriah smiled and turned towards the door. She went out immediately when she heard the sound of a car engine. Cameron and the chauffeur were helping Ethan get out of the car and Moriah came near them. "Ethan, baby," Moriah said, Ethan looked at her. "Are you real?" Ethan held her face. "Or I'm just too drunk and just seeing things?" "Baby, I'm real," Moriah kissed his cheek. Ethan chuckled. "You're real, you didn't leave me?" Instead of answering him, she held his arm. "Thank you, Cameron, I'll take it from here," Moriah said and draped Ethan's arm over her shoulders. "Are you sure, madam?" Cameron was worried, Ethan is heavy and it would be hard for Moriah to support him. "My wife will take care of me. You can leave now," Ethan said and waved his hand to shoo him away. Doubting, Cameron looked at Moriah and she nodded at him. Seeing her nod, Cameron left. Ethan tried to walk upright and not to put his weight on Moriah. "Sir," George tried to help Moriah. "Ethan?" Moriah called his name, causing him and Hazel to look at her way. "Baby," Ethan got up from the couch and approached her. "Let's have breakfast," he hugged her and then steered her towards the dining room. Hazel was left in the living room fuming. She softly laughed derisively, her eyes bloodshot. Moriah looked up at her husband. "Aren't you going to the company?" "I want to have a rest," Ethan said as he pulled a chair for Moriah. "I want to spend time with you." Moriah smiled and put food on his plate. "But, I have to go to work today. Others might complain if I take a day off whenever I want." "Alright, I'll just accompany you to the hospital," Ethan said and started eating. "You'll be bored there, stay here, have a rest," Moriah knew her husband needed some respite from work and staying with her in the hospital wasn't the perfect environment for him to have a rest. "Alright, I'll wait for you to come home. Come home early, okay?" Ethan held her hands and placed k

What are you doing here?” “I’m here to bring you lunch, I happened to pass by and saw you still have patients waiting in the queue and I knew you won’t have time to buy lunch,” Shaun replied and put the lunch box before her. “Thank you, Shaun,” Moriah smiled at him. “Did you visit someone?” Moriah asked him while she opened the lunch box. “My dad is here, he had a mild heart attack this morning,” Shaun said as he opened the bottled juice for Moriah. “How is he now?” “He’s fine, we had an argument this morning when I told him to cancel the engagement,” his eyes were bleak while speaking. “So, what are you planning to do?” Moriah asked and then took a bite of the sandwich. “I’ll still move to the States, I don’t want to be under his shadow all my life,” Shaun said with a sigh. “You don’t have a good relationship with your father?” Moriah asked, and took a bite of her sandwich again. Ethan brushed his knuckles on her cheeks. "I trust you." "Thank you, baby," Moriah smiled at him with her usual bright smile he loved to see. "But I'm jealous," Ethan lifted her on his lap and laid his head on her chest. Moriah placed a hand on his shoulder blade and gently patted it. "Baby, you have nothing to be jealous of." Ethan remained silent and hugged her waist. Moriah shut her mouth and said no more until they reached the restaurant. Ethan was stunned when Moriah picked Haggis for her dinner. "Are you going to eat that," Ethan scrunched his nose while looking at his wife. He once ate Haggis when he was in high school, but didn't like it. "Yes," Moriah answered, looking at her plate and sniffing. Ethan smiled when he saw Moriah eat everything on her plate. It was late in the evening when they arrived home. They were both chuckling while they entered the mansion as Moriah had cracked a joke. "Ethan?" Hazel was approaching them in her wheelchair. Her eyes were red rimm

A sinister smile made its way to Hazel's lips. She followed Ethan and Moriah, but had not shown herself to them. She secretly listened to them. "Ethan!" Moriah screamed, halting Ethan in his tracks. She spoke while she strode towards him. "Why don't you want a child?" "I'm not ready yet, I have told you already," Ethan spoke coldly that sent shivers down her spine. "But, why?" Her voice cracked, but there were no tears in her eyes. "I don't want to discuss it," Ethan said with gritted teeth and walked out of the mansion. Moriah followed him. She felt like a deflated balloon when she saw his car moving away. She sighed, her face full of helplessness. Moriah went to the hospital and did her routine. Thankfully, she was busy with work and forgot about the fight. After eating her lunch, she felt dizzy again. She looked at the calendar and she was 8 weeks delayed. She thought it was impossible as she religiously took her pills. Moriah turned cold and her mouth went dry, and her heart labored with slow, painful thumps. At the same time, her brain was working too fast, racing through a chain of conclusions, each more unpleasant than the last. She walked away from there and trudged up the stairs. She held her abdomen. "My child and I could live without you Ethan," Moriah said with her head held high. She packed her things in two big suit cases. She took her dowry, wedding bands that she and Shaun bought and their engagement ring. The wedding band Ethan bought, she put on the nightstand. Moriah phoned Shaun, and it was answered immediately. "Hello, what's wrong?" Calling him in the middle of the night, Shaun instinctively knew that something went wrong. "Shaun, please pick me here at the mansion," Moriah said softly. "Alright, I'll come right away," Shaun said, he hurriedly got dressed and drove off. Moriah went down to call a bodyguard to help her with her luggage. As she was waiting for Shaun in the livi

Ethan stepped into her line of sight, and she gave him a perturbed frown in the mirror. "Are you ready?" Ethan lovingly looked at Moriah, who was looking at herself in the mirror in displeasure. "You seemed to be disgusted with yourself.” "Why won't I be disgusted looking at myself when this kid made me look like an elephant," Moriah pouted as she complained, and he grinned, coming up behind her to wrap his arms around her. He could hardly fit them around her huge stomach. “You look beautiful and you know it,” he told her, dropping a kiss onto her shoulder. She turned around and looked at the man, the corner of his eyes crinkling attractively. He just got more gorgeous with age; the sprinkling of gray in his hair and the fine lines forming around his eyes and on his brow just added to his gorgeous looks. After Ethan’s message, images of their wedding flashed on the screen, afterwards photos of them in Shanghai, their family pictures and many photos of her and Ethan together. She couldn’t help but smile as she watched the photos of their four year marriage. Moriah blushed when a video of their lovemaking came after the still images. “Ethan!” she pinched his side torso. Ethan roared in laughter. “You’re so mean,” It dawned on her that it’s the reason he told her to watch alone in their room. “I'm not mean," he said, still trying to stop himself from laughing. He went on after he stopped laughing. " If ever I forget you and watch how I make love with you, at least it gives me proof that I truly adore you and that we truly love each other. Look, we are not only having s*x but what we were doing was expressing our love for each other. It wasn’t lust that moved our bodies, but love,” Ethan explained to his bashful wife. Moriah looked at him with her bright smile that he loves to look at, which made the little annoyance completely vanish. "I love you, Mr Ethan Miller!" It was only then that she noticed the floor with rose petals. She giggled. "Now, I know that you are capable of doing romantic things to pursue a woman." "And that woman is you," Ethan snaked his arm around her waist and drew her near to him, closing the gap between them. Ethan didn’t let the night pass by without showing his love to her. He savored the moment to hold her close to him as their bodies tangled. The day of his surgery had finally arrived.
