CH74 - Kai's POV

I don’t know how long I had been unconscious, but the moment I woke up, I could feel my whole body aching all over. The next thing I noticed was the cold, hard floor on which they had dumped me.

Slowly, I tried to get to my feet, but the pain in my chest caused me to gasp and fall back down. It would take a while before my body healed itself from the onslaught the alpha had rained down on me, but that was the least of my concerns now.

I tried to focus my gaze so that I could see my surroundings. Everything was still blurry and the place they had put me in was dark. Eventually, my eyes adjusted to the surroundings and my heart sank.

I was alive, but that was a trivial comfort to the prison I had now found myself in. There was no bed here, not even a toilet for me to use. There was nothing but the cold, hard floor and the thick bars of the cell.
