Sally's POV

Just because my parents are dead, that doesn't give them the right to use me or walk all over me. So my goal today is to humiliate their precious children and hit them with the feeling of not messing with me anymore.

"Just go easy on me, okay, kid," Jolie said. They all laughed.

Who is the child here? Go easy? I never remember that old man going easy on me and I never had the pleasure of begging him to go easy. And that annoys me to no end.

I just smiled indifferently. Jolie attacked me first, causing her mother to grin and clap happily at her side. She started first, but nothing reached me.

Go easy? I repeat this concept.

Jolie kept trying to stab me with Sais, and I kept avoiding them. All she did was swing her weapon aimlessly. I got tired of that, so I just kicked Sais out of her grip and placed my sword on her neck.

Game over.

Her mother looked relatively upset, and once again, another dirty look was thrown my way. Jolie just giggled. "You helped both of us. I don't w

Sally's POV"Drop it or die," I warned, silently panting. He heeded the warning and let his twin blades clang against the floor, his hands raised to either side of his head, admitting he had lost. The place seemed tense and quiet until I heard Jolie's voice coming from my left. "Sally. That was intense."The woman stood up, raising her arms before folding them back down. "You are my Queen." She teased. When I took the sword away from him, I immediately noticed a look of fear mixed with respect in the eyes of each of my relatives. It's nice to prove to them that I'm not so different from people like them."This ends our match for today." My grandfather said, dismissing everyone. Arnav is no longer seen anywhere. I must have bruised his ego too much for my liking. Well, suck it up or go cry to mom.----------------------A few months later, my grandfather arranged a large family meeting where everyone belonging to or working under the Donne family should be present and gathered around.

Sally's POVLisa stopped walking before turning around and staring at me as if I had another head growing. "About a week, Sally."A week? What the hell was that? "What's wrong?" I ask."I don't know, my lady. But my grandmother told me that sometimes it takes about a month or more for the change to complete its transformation." Lisa explained. "Yours is probably the fastest in your family's history."My eyebrows furrowed. "Your grandmother used to work here?"The girl nodded. "She loved the Donne family until her last days, and I continued to do what she loved, which was serving your family. Now I know why she liked this family so much, Mr. Your grandmothers are good people, and so are you, and your parents.""Have you met my parents?" I say.She nodded. "One time, I was visiting my grandmother and accidentally bumped into them. They gave me some money to buy the best snacks I wanted and some candy." Her voice was gentle as she recalled her memories."My grandmother once told me that

Sally's POVMy grandfather sighed. "That's right. He died before they could complete the mating process.""Who are we talking about?" I asked again. The old man sighed again. "My younger brother.""Okay. But why is Raven the mascot of our family?""Remember when your Southern grandparents came to visit and blurted out that you had hunter blood in you?" My grandmother asked, I nodded."What your great-grandfather didn't know was that while he killed all those supernatural beings, he was a supernatural being just like the creatures he killed."Suddenly, my head throbbed. This is a lot to take in. "Why am I only learning this now?""Because we're sure you won't change." She speaks."Little brother? What little brother are you talking about?"They glanced at each other before dropping another bomb on me. "The Donnes are not just a normal typical Donne family, but we are also a creature, we are called crows."Suddenly, I held my index finger between us, stopping them from continuing. Okay,

Sally's POVCautiously, he glanced around the place for an eavesdropper. "You need to go back to your parents' deaths. They didn't die in a car accident and the car didn't explode in the flames."He glanced around the place before speaking again. “I don't trust anyone here except your grandmother and you.”He stopped. "Sally, I'm sorry for the things I did in the past, but it was all to make you stronger. It made you the person you are now. You will also find answers that you're looking for, but not here."The last word he said to me was the most confusing of all the things he said. "Return to your nest. The refuge lies in the ashes of the Ravens. The darkest Raven of them all will be your guide out of these thorn bushes."My grandfather stopped for a moment. "He never intended to let you go, Sally. He loved you, he was just taking his time."He smiled at me, affectionately. And I feel like this will be the last time I see him smile like that. "I've always loved you, Sally. I never me

Sally's POVJust as I was a foot away, I was pulled back with force. It was as if an invisible string or giant rubber band was tied around my waist so that a group of people pulled me backward like a slingshot. The pull woke me gasping for air, with my lungs screaming for air, and my throat dry as if I'd been left in the desert for a long time. Sitting up straight, I ran my hands down my face and pushed my hair away from my sweaty face and neck.It was still dark outside, but checking the time on my phone, it was 5 am. There was no way I could go back to sleep after what happened, nor could I wake up and go for a run.Pushing the blanket aside, I grabbed the hoodie from the edge of the bed and wore it over a tank top, finally putting on my running shoes.I went to the bathroom to wash my face before going downstairs to get a glass of water and finally starting my run.I don't know how I survived all the dreams I had. Yes. I've had nightmares like that since I lived through gunfire.Ha

Might start training again, I guess." I shrugged, unsure of my plans for the day.He just nodded at the idea. I was sure he wanted to protest, to prevent me from picking up the weapon, but again, he said nothing except. "Be careful, don't push yourself too much."I nodded curtly before making my excuses. Heading back upstairs to my assigned room, and closing the door properly, I climbed into bed and just lay there staring at the ceiling. Sally's POV"You're not going to stab me, are you?" Darius joked, leaning against the living room frame.I shot him the most deadly glare I could muster before throwing one of the cushions at him, "I will if you don't stop talking." And collapsed on the sofa, sighing. After what happened yesterday, everyone was too scared to approach and talk to me. So left me alone with my thoughts in the living room since breakfast ended in an awkward silence.Darius plopped down in the space next to me, hugging the pillow I threw earlier. “A penny for your thoughts?”"Even if you give me a million, I still won't share with you," I spoke emotionlessly. He sucked hard through his teeth. "Grim,"I sighed in defeat. "I'm sorry... I just...""Stress?"I shook my head."Paranoia?"I shook my head again."Bored?" There's a lot of it here. Why do you need to go to town?"I groaned, frustrated. "I can't breathe with people looking at me, especially watching them argue while I sit and do nothing. And what is that mysterious letter you're keeping from me? Did my grandmother lock her in her office? What the hell is going on?"My point was made clear when I saw the car keys in his hand when Roland threw them at him."I'll tell you after you get some air. Let's go." He gestured to the passenger seat. "Please inform Mrs. Willow that I will be taking Sally out." He advised Roland. We were both seated and buckled in the car, Darius put the key in the ignition and the car roared to life. I like the rumbling sound of the engine. Sally's POVThree months after the devastation, to say things are back to normal is an understatement. Everyone is still saddened by the loss of half of the pack, but they are our heroes, in our hearts and our memories.I returned the next day, with my enemy's head in a sack. I asked everyone in my family if they knew what he had done and was about to do. When I asked about his parents, everyone bowed their heads in respect.Arnav informed me that both of them committed suicide because of the old Donne's rule.I need to abolish that regulation and replace it with a more reasonable penalty. They were both innocent, they were just pawns in the game and they had to pay for his actions, may their souls rest in peace. That night we held a proper funeral for them. We all paid our respects. Our allies also came to pay their respects. The ceremony was over, everyone had gone home and I stayed at the burial site and stared at Oliver's portrait, thinking that maybe I hated him just because he w

Sally's POVMy whole life has been a lie. I can't even handle this right now. Slowly, lowering myself to the mat, I sat and stared at the flashbacks of my life before and after everything that had happened.I remember my grandmother always saying that I was royalty in their eyes, supposed to rule the world with Ryan's pack. And she continued to emphasize the two nouns, King and queen. Also, every summer vacation when I was young, my grandfather would show me off to his guests, which made me feel very uncomfortable. And it got to the point where I remember my mother having to take me for a walk every time someone passed by."And I know you saw something in your dream, Sally. You looked pale when you walked in here." She was silent for a while. "Is that your mate? Did he call you?"My silence is the answer. Even though I tried to deny the fear that the dream brought me, I couldn't, it still lingered in my mind. The image of Ryan covered in blood and pain, stuck. At least I have to know

Because not long after I closed my eyes, my mind took me to a strangely familiar place."Sally, help." A whisper rang out around me.Standing in the middle of a barren field, 50 yards away from me, Ryan stood sullenly, his face pale, his right fist clutched tightly to his hip.I shivered as the cold wind whipped my skin but my eyes never left him. Is he okay? Why does he look so sick? When I looked closely at his deathly curled fists, they were covered in blood. Why? Whose blood is that? It can't be his, right? What happened?“Ryan,” I called, but no sound came out. I called again and again until I was tired and my throat became hoarse. He just stared at me with pain in his eyes.He may be standing but his eyes say otherwise. The light in his eyes was gone and I wondered if it was my fault.Looking closely at him, I felt like he was gone a long time ago and this was just an illusion.

Why did the Alexander clan suspect it was us? Do you have any other sources to find out who killed Mr. Goray?"From a maid in the house, I slipped off my coat. “Find me something, Arnav. Sighing, I followed it through a small entrance. As soon as I stepped inside, a shrill scream echoed throughout the space of the warehouse. The screams of a man and a woman rang out again, sending chills down my spine.Approaching the noise, I hid behind pieces of plywood. My heart stopped beating for a split second when I saw my parents in the middle of the room.My mother was stripped of her clothes and every ounce of dignity, tears streaming down her pale and bloody face.I wanted to scream and help her, but I couldn't move and not even a whisper came out. I could only cry and suppress the anger welling up inside me.My dad, on the other hand, looked completely devastated.
