Eighty-One

Sally's POV

Darius' eyes glanced down at my plate of food but said nothing. Instead, he asked. "What are you doing today?"

I put down my fork before answering. "I don't know. Might start training again, I guess." I shrugged, unsure of my plans for the day.

He just nodded at the idea. I was sure he wanted to protest, to prevent me from picking up the weapon, but again, he said nothing except. "Be careful, don't push yourself too much."

I nodded curtly before making my excuses. Heading back upstairs to my assigned room, and closing the door properly, I climbed into bed and just lay there staring at the ceiling. Gradually, I felt my eyes close, the fatigue I had been suppressing finally coming and lulling me back to sleep.
