“A contract for what!?” I can't believe what I just heard.
I knew it.
“I told you I don't want to do anything illegal and now you want me to join whatever dark market you are in, and worse... I am signing a contract? What is this? Huh? A cult of addicts or something!?” I hysterically said to him, it was like some things were going crazy in my heart.
He grinned.
“This is the most legal thing that you will ever do in your life. This ain't really just a contract, we will also sign a license. Which made it SUPER. LEGAL.” he calmly said to me while still grinning emphasizing how legal it will be.
What is this mess I got into, why did I even trust this man...
Just— cause he's handsome?
I shook my head to get back into the reality I am in right now. “T-then what do I have t-to do?”
“Marry me.”
It was as if rocks had fallen on me when I heard the two words he said.
I deliberately stopped my feet at what this guy said. When he noticed I stopped, he also paused, dragging me before he turned around and faced me.
I was in a lot of trouble because of the speed of this event and now he's saying something really stupid.
I just stared into his eyes, obviously confused.
He sighed. “We're just signing a marriage contract,” he said as if this is nothing for him.
What in the world of cheese?
I didn't think that this could go even worse.
“A... what!?”
A marriage contract?
There is no way I'm marrying this man, not here— I mean, never. It's just like this is not my dream wedding.
He did not answer me and instead, he suddenly took my hand and pulled me closer to him when we noticed a man approaching us. He holds something that I think is the papers that we have to sign together.
He whispered to me to continue what he was saying earlier. “And a marriage license…”
I looked at him with mixed astonishment, he raised his hand and put his index finger to his lips to signal to me not to say anything.
“No way, I'm here to have a better life, not to have a husband,” I whispered back to him so that the man wouldn't notice us and do not kick us out of this building.
I think my words were strengthened because the man suddenly turned to us.
This guy beside me immediately faked a smile at the man to show that nothing had happened and that everything was fine before he turned to me and whispered “Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars…” with emphasis on every word.
He's holding a pen and has already begun to sign.
While signing the papers, he even raised his eyes to me, they are absolutely beautiful. It's like it's attracting me to grab it and run. I’m pretty sure a lot of creeps will buy those gorgeous eyes.
He was looking at me and not at the papers but he didn't make any mistake signing it, as if he was already very used to it.
He's not a pop star... isn't he?
I wanted to laugh at what I thought but I couldn't. I really wanted to run away from him and this mess, but for some reason that I can't understand, I accepted the pen and started signing as well.
I could just scream and run, but why does my body keep telling me that it's fine to trust him?
I looked at this stranger once again after I finished the paper that they called a marriage license.
He must have noticed my doubts because he whispered to me again. “Don't worry, we'll get divorced sooner than you know.”
I heard what he said, but I never looked at him because of the amount of stuff running through my brain right now.
Did I really sign a contract?
Does that mean I'm married to him?
But wait— I suddenly remembered that he has a girlfriend.
I'm such an idiot. I have a lot of things I can forget then.
Why did I...
I was so annoyed that I just messed up my hair before looking at him again.
“Don't you have a girlfriend? You guys just fought for a while and now you married someone? Seriously, what is your real plan?” I asked him with a mixture of annoyance.
“We're still together. I just really have something important to do.” He replied while looking directly into my eyes to give me the security that everything was fine.
“We're now officially married, so this means that you're my husband... right?”
“Married by paper.” He clarified.
I just glared at him for what he said. Does he think I am loving this situation right now that he's my husband?
“So, what do you want me to do next? Don't you ever expect me to have some sort of a honeymoon with you? You're not thinking of sleeping next to me, are you?” I regretted the words that came out of my mouth.
It was like a gun trigger that suddenly fired his loud laughter. He laughed really loud at what he heard.
I suddenly felt embarrassed at what I said and it was like all my blood had risen to my cheeks because of the extreme heat of them.
I feel like they are already so red, it's too hot in here.
I pulled my face away so he couldn’t see it.
I looked at him as I felt that the redness on my cheeks had somewhat disappeared, he still didn't seem to have finished laughing.
“Are you done?” I raised an eyebrow at him which immediately stopped his laughter.
He adjusted himself and stood up straight before speaking. "You must go to my wedding tomorrow."
I flipped over by what he said, what wedding?
“We just got married, what do you mean there will be a wedding tomorrow?”
“No- I mean... Yes, but tomorrow's wedding and today's marriage contract are just a part of my plans.”
I did not answer so he spoke again. "It's not us who's getting married so you don't have to feel excited."
Seriously, how many girls is this guy dating?
And what? Me? Excited?
Whatever is happening tonight is seriously insane. Nothing is going right, and I am certain that nothing will also go right tomorrow.
If it was just a dream, I hope someone would shake the hell out of me and wake me up.
This is all too much for my brain to handle so I couldn't let out any words so I just stared at him.
“Look, I know you can't understand and you're a bit puzzled by this kind of situation right now, but all I want you to do is to attend my wedding tomorrow.” After a long pause, he continued “Just remember that I am not allowing you to talk to anyone at my wedding or even say anything, just be there until the right time I call you, do you understand?” He looks at me directly in the eye hoping that I would understand every single word of it.
I agreed to the marriage, there's nothing bizarre for me anymore. So I just nod my head to let him know that I understand what he just said.
“I'm going home,” I said softly to him as if I was so tired that I could no longer raise my voice.
He nodded. “Make sure you'll be there tomorrow so that people can see you. Please fix what you are wearing as well.”
I want to peel this man alive and throw him on the fire. I'm so annoyed at him. He sees that I'm still a mess with everything that's going on, and now the number of things he orders me can literally make my brain stop functioning.
I can't imagine living with this man for even just a day and listening to all of his non-stop commands. I don't know how someone can last with him.
“When will you pay me?” I asked him.
I have made too many mistakes overnight. At least I have something to gain here.
“After your job is done.”
I gave him a sullen glance before I left the City Hall without looking back.
All the stupid things I did here just reminded me of my hometown and my family there.
I wonder what they would think when I didn't go home as they expected.
I planned to start again and have a new life here in Denmark, but whatever happened tonight; I don't think that I started it all right.
I'm inside the taxi now and I'm just looking outside watching the quiet and uncrowded road.
My vision slowly blurs and I can feel the warmth of my eyes. Something just dripped on my hand so my gaze shifted to take a look at it. As I lowered my head, the tears flowed even more. I instantly raised my head again to slow the dripping off them and I didn't bother to wipe it off and just looked back outside. I took a deep breath and let it out loudly through my mouth. In the dimming of my eyes, only the light on the road reflected it.
This quiet taxi and the dark surroundings it passes through reminds me of all the things that happened yesterday, the last day I was in New Jersey.
Before I left that country with no plans in return...
Yesterday... The usual deafening silence is on, it's always like this when we are all together. The awkwardness inside this car is killing me. I look at the rear mirror and noticed my step-dad Jorge glancing at me, he looks like he has something to say but he can't even start a single word so he decided to just turn on the radio. My mom is also sitting in front of Jorge in the driver's seat. She seems bothered about something I don't know. Her face turned into a frown when our eyes met. I have no idea what's going on but I'm saving it for later drama, and how can we even talk inside this car that can be awarded as the most awkward car ever existed. Trina is sitting between me and my sister Eliz. I can literally hear her heavy breathing right now. The song on the radio at least lessens the awkwardness. I decided to just peek outside the window to see the place before I leave tomorrow. I can't help but
"Crystal... crystal wake up!" I heard a voice through my sleep while I am repeatedly being shaken to wake up. "Hmm..." I growled. "We have a lot more to do here in Denmark. We will take a walk, tour around and not just stay in this room and sleep!" I was a little annoyed at Trina's voice that causing pain in my ear. But I'm too tired to react to her screams and complaints. I don't even have the energy to get up from this bed I'm lying on. Whatever happened last night really made me feel exhausted— Last night? I flipped over by the fact that I realized what I just said, "Aww!" I fell on the bed. I opened my eyes but I see nothing. My face is now on the floor... I raised my palm to my forehead as I felt the growing pain caused by my falling. There seemed to be a sudden flick in my head. "I was just asleep! It was just a dream, I told you!" She just stared at me not knowing t
"Eliz." I turned to face her. The corners of her mouth lifted in a smile. "You look alluring in that white dress Crystal." I turned my gaze back to the mirror and observe myself wearing it. It's a semi-embroidered white strapless dress that accentuated my thin waist. It also hugged my hips, highlighting and emphasizing its curve. The skirt of this dress flared out slightly, and a V-slit on the side showed a less embroidered underlayer. My cleavage was showing so I quickly pulled it up to hide it better, but it was still visible so I just let it be. It's stunning. I raised my gaze to my hair. I used my hands to move my hair forward and adjusted its volume a bit by running my fingers into my hair and lift it slightly. Even though it hasn't been fixed yet, my glossy blonde, long, and curly hair complement the dress. Eliz came a little closer to the mirror to get a better look at it. "You look so pretty," she said while her mouth g
I am in a huge and elegant room right now. I was brought here earlier by the two men I was with. They said that they just have to do something and would be right back. They also warned me not to leave and wandered outside. So here I am, alone in this wide spacious room. I am sitting on a richly bed, and my feet could even barely reach the floor because of its height. I just moved my legs and collided with each other to have fun somehow because there was nothing to do in here, and I also didn't want to move because I might break anything. I know I can't afford it no matter what I break in this room, everything will be expensive, that's for sure. I watched as the large door swung open. When the man who knew nothing but to order me came in, I had just gotten up from my seat even though I couldn't reach the floor very well. My future husband also came in. I giggled secretly. "Okay blonde, you can exit the room n
"I'm sorry, what are you talking about?" Exclaimed by the man who was called Frank earlier. "My marriage to Crystal is absolutely legal, which means ours isn't." He turned his gaze back to the woman. "And neither is my contract. Read the file print. As I said, unless we're married, my S.C gift to you is void. But because you didn't include anything like that in your deal, Spencers Co. and 25% of the Villareal's Aircraft remain all mine..." The woman fell silent and the only thing she can do is to stare at the floor as if she had lost the fight before she turned her back and walks out of the room. "How come you didn't tell me about your plans?" Frank asked enraged. "I tried to, but you were too preoccupied thinking of your own survival. It's done now, Father. So just take the win and walk away." The man they called Frank turns out to be his father. His dad walked out slowly with both hands raised. When his father fin
I can't quite figure out who's inside the car because of its light. Oh well, I'm not going to get in the car right away until I know who's in it. I learned from my mistakes. I narrowed my eyes to see it better and I saw someone getting out of the car. "Crystal." A man got out of the car and I could see his smiles from here. This man can absolutely be compared to a mushroom who constantly appears from time to time. He's the one who sat in front of me before, he always comes out of nowhere. I don't know if he's lurking, but of all the weirdness he did today, this was the one I liked the most. I can't
I'm not sure why I'm still thinking about what I saw in the car earlier. It keeps on playing over and over in my head. "Shoo," I said, shaking my head and gently patting it using one of my hands to clear my mind on everything that had happened. I've just shifted my attention to the hot chocolate drink I'm holding; it feels nice to have something warm on my hands. I was so cold that I had to wrap myself in blankets. I'm feeling better now, but I hope I won't get sick tomorrow. It's irritating that the reason behind all of this is that stupid little dress— I mean, you know— it's beautiful, but it's not good for my health. He knows that it's so cold in here, why did he even send me that kind of dress?
"Is this really how we will spend your last day here in Denmark?" The two of us are standing in front of the mirror here inside the hotel room. Trina was looking at me but I know that she's not paying attention, she was just looking at me from head to toe. I just rolled my eyes at her because of annoyance. I know I promised myself that I would wear long clothes today, but look at what I'm wearing now. A red short rompers. If the wind passes by me, the cool breeze of the air can be felt inside because it's really flowy. Its cut on the chest will definitely cause coughs and colds, fortunately, my long hair is just styled down. "It's perfect" Trina suddenly speak when she finished staring at me. "you look hot in my rompers." This is what Trina likes to wear, short dresses that people might think that she's just wearing a little fabric. But it's her thing and she's comfortable in it, what about me? "I can't go out like
“Is she still locked up in her room?” “Yes, dad. Since we got back, Crystal hasn't come out.” Blade stated. “I overheard Amara sobbing.” She pretended to be tough. But the truth is, she was deeply upset by what the other people had to say. If she'd just let me present her to the general public, that would be good. My daughter isn't a gold digger. She's a goddamn Dawson!” he yelled, his rage palpable across the room. “— and how come her husband is nowhere to be found? Is he not planning on visiting his wife?” “It's possible he's still in the manor, father.” When Crystal came down the stairs with a suitcase, the two of them came to a halt in their conversation. Blade leaped to his feet and offered to assist he
[Crystal] I didn't seem to have a good dream last night. I dreamed of water and I believe it was a bad omen. I immediately get out of bed after resting for a bit. Fortunately, my morning sickness was not that bad. Such a well-mannered child for not torturing its mother. I plan to go to a doctor today for a check-up and to know the gender of my baby. I think I can ask Liam to go with me. It is the reason why I am so excited that I wake up so early. Whatever the gender of this child will be, I will accept it wholeheartedly and support my child. My hand slightly raised and rubbed my belly. I promise to protect and take care of you, my baby.
[Crystal] Today is the day when Liam plans to tell his family about our child. When we got back from Khun Wanida resort, everything went well and there were no problems. Dad continues to help Blade and Maddison. I can hardly talk to Blade and them every time they are at home. I chose to stay at my father's house. I don't want to cram myself into Spencer's manor. Also, I am more comfortable with it. So far the investigation into the search for their son Blade is ongoing. However, they still do not have information because Maddison's father, Mr. Butler, does not come out of the manor, which i
“I know how important my return is to you. Especially and I saw firsthand with my own eyes how much you missed me during the times I was missing. But, I hope you also understand my decision not to let the public know. It is also for the safety of our future child. I don’t want the time to come to confuse him with the various articles he finds on the internet, or with what people have to say. It is enough for me that you and Noah know that I am still alive and that I have come back to you that I have lost my family. So, I hope you understand me. ” I sincerely muttered while not taking my eyes off my father. “I also don't want to bring up what happened in the past. I don't want to mention my mother here, and especially the events of the past that she wants to forget. ” Mr. was stunned for a moment. Dawson before a smile flash
When Crystal entered the room reserved for them by Maddison she saw that Blade was still inside and they seemed to be talking about something. Crystal didn't hear what they were talking about because they became silent once she got inside as well. Before Blade came out, Crystal followed him with sharp glances. Blade didn't look at Crystal and looked just straight at him until he got out of the door. Silence narrowly enveloped the inner of the room after Blade came out. Both Maddison and Crystal are skeptical of the moves they will make. Crystal was about to step forward to look at the suitcase; she didn't know what the only clothes were when Maddison suddenly blurted out.
[THIRD-PERSON POV] Along the way, Crystal could no longer resist her drowsiness. This is also because she is pregnant. Because she needs more sleep now compared to when she is not yet carrying a baby in her womb. Maddison was just staring out the window and seemed to be deep in thought, as were Blade and Liam. Not even one of them intended to speak. As a result, silence enveloped them. Crystal's father, Mr. Dawson let out a series of sighs as he looked back and forth at the three. One reason he plans on vacation is to have time with Crystal, especially now that she knows who she really is. But, another reason he does this is he wants to have peace between Blade, Maddison, and Liam.
“Where are we going, Blade?” I asked him but he didn't seem to have any plans to tell me. After he conveyed to me earlier the problem he and Maddison were facing, as well as the help Noah had promised, his phone suddenly rang and he received a call. After Blade answered it, he suddenly told me to get in the car, and seemed to be in a hurry to leave. I can't understand what's going on. When I asked Blade who called, he told me it was Mr. Dawson phoned and told both of us to go to a certain location. Which Blade doesn't tell me. He just shut his mouth and didn't utter any words. &nb
[Crystal] "What do you mean you didn't take Noah home with you to Denmark?" I was shocked at the tone of Blade's voice. It sounds disgusting and seems furious at me. His eyes are full of desperation and I can feel his sadness. Maybe he's really mad at me, “I-I can’t push him to go b-back here, Blade. Noah decided to stay in New Jersey for a few more days.” I defended myself honestly. “He wants to fix his relationship with Trina before he comes back here again. And I don’t know how many more days it will take before that thing happens. I’m not sure what will happen there. Now, Noah is anxious, he can't talk because of the quarrel between him and Trina. I could have done nothing but agree as he wished no
[THIRD PERSON-POV] “Are you sure that they would help us?” Maddison whispered to Blade, trying to lower her voice for fear that someone would hear her. “Don’t worry. They are my friends. I am certain that they would do everything to help us. But—” Blade took a long pause before he continued. “The only thing that they might never give you, is to take Liam away from Crystal. She is pregnant with Liam's child, and even if I am swearing him to death, I would never want to take away the father of the innocent child.” Maddison seemed saddened by that fact. Not because of how he felt about Liam, but because of how her father would react. “We will do everything to find our son. Just trust me, Maddi. They are coming back to Denmark
