Chloe woke up to smelling salts when they paramedics showed up and recognized Josh as he stood over her. She smiled weakly at him. He shook his head and checked on her vitals.
"Mrs. Harris. Are you ok?" He asked her after she had given her name and age.
"Yeah. Sorry, we keep meeting like this." She said.
"It's my job." He smiled wryly. "And you tend to attract trouble."
"Yeah." She looked up and saw Liam come into the office.
"Hey, you ok?" Liam asked when he reached her.
"Yeah." She told him, and Josh excused himself giving her an okay to go. Liam just stared at her. "What?"
Chloe continued. “I saw them against the window naked, and then they started, well, having sex, and I just stood there and watched in shock I suppose." She heard a rustle from the corner and glanced over at Liam to see him adjust his stance a bit but other than a small smirk nothing else about him hinted that he was even listening."You suppose? And you didn't announce yourself or back out and let them be, seeing as it was a very intimate situation you walked in on? And as you put it you aren't rude." Detective Porter brought her attention back to him."Oh, no. I just stood there like an idiot and watched stunned. They moved to the desk, and he went to grab some lube. That's when Mr. Kawasaki noticed me.""What did he say to you?"
Chloe rolled over and moaned groaning against the world and all it threw at her. She needed to get out of this town. Everything around her was falling apart. She pulled herself out of bed and shut off the alarm. It was 6:30 am. She grabbed her gym bag out of the master closet and headed to the YMCA. She swam five miles and took a quick shower at the gym then headed home to change for work. She stopped at Starbucks and ordered a skinny caramel macchiato, and she gave the name Norma. The guy who called ‘Norma' raised his eyebrows when she picked up her drink."Thanks, Dave." She said with a grin even though his nametag incorrectly said, Sam."You're Welcome, Chloe." He said and smiled before returning to the next order. On her way to work she was nearly run off the road by a random old Corolla she couldn't see the driver. T
Chloe arrived home and needed to get busy, no more slacking off, she told herself and went into the master bedroom. She pulled out her suitcase then went through her dresser and put all the clothes she would need into the suitcase. Her panties, bras, speedo for laps at the YMCA, a few yoga outfits for her class with Kat, a few casual outfits she'd bought with Aunt Lane and Kendra and about three pairs of shoes; sneakers, flats, and walking shoes. She hung up several skirts and tops for work and left out a pair of black pumps that would have to work with all of them. After she had everything she needed in her suitcase, she packed up her closets and dressers. She pulled one coat out that would have to do and two dresses, one for a function or going out and one for daytime or work. She left most everything else and ha
Chloe sat in her car in the liquor store parking lot nursing a monster brain freeze. She had managed to calm down slightly while sipping her Billie Bean slushie and was just about to put the car in gear when her phone rang."Hello?" She answered without looking, she was afraid she would see an unknown number and hear another creepy message. With the creepy phone calls, almost getting run over twice now and people falling out of twelve story windows in front of her she wasn't sure how much more she would be able to handle."Hey." Kyle's voice responded, and she instantly let out a sigh of relief. "Why do you sound like you aren't having a great day?""A lot of reasons but the most recent one I was almost run over walking to my car just now. I dropped my bottle of wine, and it
"Hungry?" Liam asked her."What?""Are you hungry? Did you have dinner yet? They actually have good burgers here." She noticed almost for the first time the smell of hamburger and fryer grease and cologne. She looked around to see she was in a pub like bar. It was rather cleaner than she had first noticed. There was a light sound of glass clattering as drinks were served and a few tables were already sat. The bar was a large oval-shaped island in the middle of the room. There were booths lining the walls and a kitchen in the back and a few tall tables speckling the space around the bar, but they were all empty.A group of guys munched on some wings in a corner booth. A couple at the bar laughed over their beers, and there was an ol
Liam had just closed the door to Chloe's house behind them and had her against the wall in the entranceway. He kissed her hard and Chloe felt her core heat up and spread to every inch of her. She slid her hands into his messy hair and pulled at his neck to keep his mouth from leaving hers. His hands were touching her everywhere, and he grabbed her ass pulling her into him tighter so she could feel how hard he was. His hands continued to roam over her body caressing her with need. She leaned her head back as he kissed his way along her jaw and nibbled on her ear. "I want to touch more." He breathed into her ear, and she moaned as he pulled off her dress. He stood back, and his eyes were no longer the liquid gold that she found herself lost in so often. They were black fully dilated and devouring her body. He pulled off his shirt and unfastened his pants, his eyes never leaving her body. She
Chloe woke up still in her robe in the middle of the night escaping yet another nightmare. This one was fading quickly thankfully. All she could remember of it were remnants of the person at the bar, black roses everywhere and blood, lots of blood. She went to get up and noticed that Liam was next to her sprawled out in his boxer briefs looking gorgeous fast asleep. So it was him I felt, she thought, remembering that feeling just before she had fallen asleep and was somewhat relieved. She got up and went to get a bottle of water. She drank half of it and set the rest on the nightstand."Hey," Liam said groggily as she got back in bed. "Are you feeling better?""Yeah, thanks to you." She had recalled the events before she'd gone to slee
"Hello." The guard said when they approached. Liam flashed his badge at him."Detective Johnson. I'm taking the witness Mrs. Harris here up to look over the scene and maybe help jog her memory of the events." Liam told the security officer who just nodded at him and went back to being bored.Chloe shuddered as they entered the office and noticed the window had not been replaced yet. Standing at the far end of the office she darted her eyes around the room not being much help."So they were here?" Liam asked, pointing to the desk."Yes. He had Heather bent over the desk there, and I was, here." She said moving slightly at the door to the office. "He saw me when he reached across to the other side of the desk."
