Beryl and Conrad glared at one another as the mood of the room turned icy cold.

Letting out a few fake coughs, Silas said, “Sir, I’ll wait outside. Do call me if you need anything.”

“Sure.” Conrad agreed right away. He did not want his underling to listen to their conversation either.

Seeing that Conrad appeared to have become suspicious, Beryl decided to drop the lovely mother act and asked, “Do you really think I’d hurt you?”

“Even if that drug isn’t really poisonous, its effects clash with the medication that could help me recover my memories. Do you really think I won’t be adversely affected by drugs?!” Conrad widened his eyes in anger and glared at his mother.

Even though he had lost his memories, spending time with Beryl for five years was enough for him to get to know her.

She was a prideful woman. So, when her schemes were uncovered, she would not bother to keep on lying or pretend to be innocent.
